More info about CoV pre-orders

Hi all --

We've been getting lots of questions about the CoV pre-order... specifically, which exclusive item is available at which retailer. Here's the list:

-Crab Spider Battle Helmet: EB Games (male helmet)
-Helm of the Blood Widows: GameStop (female helmet)
-Arachnos Mystic Helm: Best Buy (male helmet)
-Wolf Spider War Helmet: All other U.S. retailers (male helmet)

I've recently received graphics of all 4 helmets and am working to get them posted for you to look at. If this doesn't happen today, I will try my hardest to have them available for you on Monday. I'll post again with a link when this is done.

Can we get a pic of the Wolf Spider and Mystic helms? I wanna' know whether or not I should cancel my pre-order with GameStop.

Also, is there any way at all that the other three would become available later in the game, throug missions or whatnot?

I'd also like to know why these have to be gender-specific.

What about bad-[censored] military chicks? And I'm certain with the right cape and coloring, that Blood Widow helmet could look pretty sweet on a guy (in fact, I was planning on this).

Thanks for the update, but let me get this straight?

If I'm a women who likes to play female characters and already ordered from EBGames because Gamestop was not accepting my creditcard due to a webpage malfunction I'm getting bleeped?

It's worse than that. What if you make some male and some female? Or even if you want to make all male villains, you have to choose only one helmet to be available.

Alexa -- as someone who prefers to make female characters, I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that there are three male-only helmets and only one female helmet.

To make matters worse, there are no GameStops in my immedate area, so if I want the only female helmet I have to mail order and then wait around at home for the delivery; I can't go into my local CompUSA, Best Buy, or EB Games to pick COV up at my convenience. That's even more annoying.

Why do you have to put gender specific items in special offers like this? Really, who thought it was a good idea? I'd very much like to know.

Can I have the version without any helmet in place?

It would be nicer if there were both a MALE & a FEMALE version for each retailer, as I have already pre-ordered months ago (when the relaease date was Sept 28th) with a retailer that I see does not have what I would prefer, and yet I see one here that does.

Is that not possible?

COnsidering that the gender specific costume options has been an QoL issue since CoH beta, it strikes me as very odd that the Devs would continue the problem in this way

What I want to know is:

1. Will we be able to pre-order the dvd special edition?
2. Will there be anyway to get all the special helmets with out buying the game over and over?
3. Will we ever find out what the monthly fee will be in conjuction with the CoH fee?

Anywho, I dont like the idea of it being Gender Specific, as said previously, would be nice if there was a Male/Female version of the helmets for each retailer/preorder

1. we don't even know about a DvD edition yet, doubtful it will be out at release but maybe.

2. No probably not, and you don't buy the game to get them you pre-order the game to get them. You would have to pre-order from all 4 stores.

3. No not until later, maybe sometime during beta, sometime near end of beta...stop asking.

As of right now, Best Buy does not list COV as a sale item. The link from the preorder email goes to their homepage and a search does not return COV.

(PS: Sent a PM to CuppaJo, but thought other posters might want to know this. I know I WANT that helmet... but dang, I already bought my copy from EB Games! Well... I'll just have to buy one as a gift for someone once Best Buy gets their act together)

While it's good to be a fan, paying for something when you have no clue what you're getting isn't a bright move...I mean, we only have what, 3 more months or so to pre-order before it comes out.

When I ordered, all I knew was "exclusive item", didn't know there were four separate ones!
