    Hi all --

We've been getting lots of questions about the CoV pre-order... specifically, which exclusive item is available at which retailer. Here's the list:

-Crab Spider Battle Helmet: EB Games (male helmet)
-Helm of the Blood Widows: GameStop (female helmet)
-Arachnos Mystic Helm: Best Buy (male helmet)
-Wolf Spider War Helmet: All other U.S. retailers & Europe (male helmet)

I've recently received graphics of all 4 helmets and am working to get them posted for you to look at. If this doesn't happen today, I will try my hardest to have them available for you on Monday. I'll post again with a link when this is done.

    Yours in villainy,
    Alexa

Ok i had to add my 2cents in and also laugh at the way so many people are stressing over this..

This is most likely how it will work and.

If you are a current CoH owner and going to continue playing only CoH, your payment will be 14.95 a month

If you are new to the game and pick up either CoH or CoV not both you will get one free month and be pay 14.95/month.

If you are a current subscriber to CoH and go out and pick up your copy of CoV for 50.00 you will add it to your current account and most likely have an extra 3.00 to 5.00 a month I dont see you getting a free month.. No expansion of any game has given you a free month that I have seen.

I have however seen expansions come out and the price for the game be upped monthly FOR EVERYONE! Not just the people who had the expansion EQ1 is a prime example I remember way back when it first launched it was like 4.00 less a month to play than it is now.

Before this happens please and i do mean PLEASE.. i ask you politly not to cry, whine and flame about how its not fair that they upped the monthly price. With constant inflation and with all the extra work they have done into the game with all the extra content they have added at no extra charge we should count ourselves lucky. If you are upset over a few extra bucks a month for having HOURS no make that DAYS AND WEEKS AND MONTHS of fun then might kindly ask you to take your upset BLEEP elsewhere

um, UO has had a number of expansions, don't they charge the same price that everyone else on the market does?

eq has had half a dozen + expansions, don't think they charge more than other mmo's out there, do they?

superbases for superheroes are only available if you buy cov right? same for these hero vs villain zones right?

so, since those are expanding upon the coh world, is it incorrect to state that cov is an expansion to coh that can be played independantly of coh?

if that is incorrect, please elaborate.

    Ugh.
After waiting a few weeks I think it is safe to assume none of the developers read these boards once they start them. Somone once told me that they very seldom, if ever, read the boards the people who play the games posted on, as that would lead to a conflict of interest. I didn't believe her, not really. After all, a dev started this thread, right?
((looks back up at the many, many pages of unaddressed concerns and unasnwered questions))
    Hmm...
Maybe need to rethink what I thought...

do devs post more than once in a thread? even if it's a thread he/she started?

Many existing missions have been updated with hostage escorts, friendly heroes who fight by your side, villain wave attacks and more.

Discuss the new mission types and how you liked them. More of them? Less? Hostages AI Ok?

This thread is for you to provide feedback to the Devs on the above issues. You are allowed to post ONCE in this thread. Make it count! If you post more than one time - the extra posts will be removed.

If a dev responds this count will be reset.

so the more i read these threads, the more i see how the company is expecting a paying public to beta test their changes and then arbitrarily ignore whatever doesn't mesh with said company employees' mindset?

i honestly want to know who works for this gaming company and is paid to make this game enjoyable and tweek it for the benefit of the public which pays their salaries?

If it were a simple expansion, you'd need CoH to play CoV and vice versa... but you don't. An example I've given many many times, now, is that CoH and CoV are like Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue. You don't need one to play the other... but to have access to certain bits of content, you'd need both.

these pokemon games you're playing, you pay a monthly fee for them? if not, then your comment isn't that relevant.

cov is very much an expansion to coh, if it weren't, then how is it you HAVE to buy cov in order to get bases for your hero?

if you're just throwing out answers because you're a fanboy, sorry, warn me next time so i know.

i know that every one else that is going to get cov thinks that same thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Realy im going to be getting it and i could care less if its 5,10 or 15 dollars more if its a great game that will keep me interested and keep me into it and enjoying it than ill pay, not everyones a cheap [censored] like you sorry, but its true, and ill be paying for wow so i could care less realy. But there are those that dont want to pay too much but thinking your going to be getting it free is pretty ignorant, you keep playing your little dream world but ill stay here in the real one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

every time that an expansion comes out for uo/eq/eq2/wow/gw/et cetera, i should pay 5/10/15 MORE on top of the 15-20/month i'm already dishing out per game?

COV is an expansion to COH. if you want the guild houses (i.e. SG/SV bases), then you HAVE to buy COV. Heck the trade skill/professions thing might end up being a part of the COV deal.

i'm not really sure how to react to that thought of paying more and more for an online game when expansions come out. coh isn't even two years old yet and you're saying it's cool if they double the monthly charges.

i think someone is living in a dream world by believing it's ok to charge extra monthly fees in order to play an expansion to an existing game.
