I decided to put my comments in the feedback thread instead.
Short form: I agree, but don't think a strong argument can be made for every set being as good as or better than the first brute ATO set. -
I will watch anything Felicia Day does.
Some things, however, I will only watch once. -

Quote:This. ^^^^^I generally regard the Kismet as Just Plain Awesome for all characters. I don't think I've gone past about level 20 without one in ages.
The only character I don't bother with it on is my SS brute. Rage with 3 Membranes made me feel like the slot for the Kismet was better used elsewhere. -
Took Penny, but she was still pouting about my earlier choice and managed to get lost prior to even exiting the base.

Quote:For realz, yo. I bought the Carnie costume pack around 2 am Sunday morning, when I realized those stupid thigh-highs were the only boots that really worked with a costume I'd been slaving over, and last night told some friends in-game that I had done so and that they could thank me today when the bundle went on sale.asfdadjkga darnit! No fewer than *3* costume sets go on sale less than a week after I finally break down and buy them. Well played, paragon, well played.
I'll have to look at see if the CoT one has anything I want in it. Already bought Barbarian a while back.
This is the kind of sale I expected during the anniversary month... -
Quote:I'm pretty sure this was part of a GMOTD pop-up a few days back, and is listed in the known issues:My search doesn't show this to be a known issue, but I have now had it confirmed by support.
Per their response:
"We have determined that the first SSA is not giving rewards for Villains right now. All of the others do though."

Quote:Yah, I don't get the drama around this. I ran it on 2 PUGs the first night and succeeded both times. Only my "want it NAO!" mentality kept me from doing full runs to get the slot unlocked all the way. So yes, I did run farms to finish out 2 of my characters.Heck no. This is one of the easiest and most straightforward trials. This will be part of the daily rotations. It is fast, simple, and high reward. I expect the reward may get lowered in the future.
The front-loading of iXP-granting mobs is one of the more questionable design decisions I've seen, though. Just swapping the order of the first two encounters (fight through some token IDF, deal with 3 bosses, fight through reinforcements before Swan arrives, then Swan/Tyrant) would have made more sense IMO.
I felt like I'd accomplished something when we succeeded. That's something fun, to me. -
Quote:I looked at the link you posted. The stuff at the top of the page under "unsorted salvage items" are all confirmed to exist in the game, per the wiki page. The only thing he's asking for that's not in that list is the Coral Shard, as near as I can tell.many of the things your asking for do not exist. Did you not look at the link i posted.
Edited to add: And the Coral Shard has a sales history in the last few months, so it's definitely in-game as well. Why rely on the wiki when you can open the market interface and see that these things exist? -
Quote:Your conclusion, emphatic as it may be, only logically follows if we equate flipping with manipulation. I do not see many people, other than AF and yourself, who seem to fully "buy" that position. I have also made ridiculous fake moneys on the market doing exactly the things you describe, and I do not agree with your conclusions.Apparently not as I'm overly successful. I did clarify a thought that flipping is a part of manipulation but not the entirety of it. Maybe that helps and if not, meh. Its results that truly count. If you are going to still say there is error, when there is overwhelming success, then I can't argue farther than that, as you're logic would seem to be at a crossroads at that point. Me = insane profits, actually proven. You = you cant do that. Me = but I did it.
Simplest thing I'm trying to say is this:
Can the market be manipulated for profit ? Yes. A LOT of profit.
Can it be done consistently ? Yes.
Have I done it ? Yes, yes, and oh my yes.
There is a difference between manipulating the market to consistently make items more expensive, and taking advantage of naturally occurring volatility to make a profit. Consistently making the item more expensive removes (or at least reduces) the profit potential. Remove the profit potential and the marketeer slits his or her own throat.
You made a lot of fake money flipping. Grats! Me too. If you want to define that as market manipulation, though, recognize that you may be in a somewhat lonely (and frequently ignored...) club. -
Quote:Perhaps a show whose plotlines revolve around some smart people's inability to take a joke or their sometimes-tendency to take themselves too seriously would be a better tie-in?I don't think tying in with a show whose punchlines and plotlines revolve around the Hollywood stereotype that smart people exist to be laughed at is a shining example of good marketing.
Threadjacks aside, I think the OP's idea is a great one that PS ought to pursue. -
I'm starting to feel a bit silly for buying bulk points at the beginning of the month in anticipation of all the cool sales that I figured would be coming as part of the anniversary celebration.
Guess the month's only half over... -

Quote:I agree with Darth. It is kinda crazy the level of angst and crying in this thread over a free item give away pilot program. People are acting like they did something wrong by introducing this program.
What is wrong with some of you people? Seriously....
...
...
In the interest of humanity's survival, I submit that we end this thread immediately, and start focusing on how we can keep the rest of the seals from breaking.
p.s. Thanks for the free stuffs! -
Quote:Agreed. That was the moment where I "bought" the character.Wow, that's a pretty cynical way of looking at it. I don't think there was anything sneering about it, or ironic, or anything. It was just Captain America, saying a Captain Americaish thing. I thought it was a good moment and a good line.
I don't pony up for movies in the theater very often. Wife and I will be going to see this one a second time, though. Maybe try it in 3D, even.
I pity whatever director has to follow Joss in the franchise. -
You can slot all six different pieces of the set in a single character, but each individual piece is unique. So you can't have two Acc/Dam from the same set on the same character, but you can slot an Acc/Dam and an Acc/Dam/End/Rech and a Rech/Proc and be just fine.

Quote:If these are just the experience awards, I have no problem with the adjustment. It was obvious during beta that these maps would be farmed, so removing the potential for them to be crazy NPC PL maps makes sense. Any confirmation that it's just experience awards affected, or is it drops as well?Dream Doctor and Sister Solaris
- When players choose to have a team of NPC allies in the final missions, the experience will be adjusted as follows:
- Sister Solaris: Regular spawns of Talons will give 30% of their rewards. The remaining groups will give 50% of their rewards.
- Dream Doctor: Regular Banished Pantheon spawns will give 30% of their rewards. This does not effect any spawns after the, "Defeat 200 Banished Pantheon" portion.
- When players choose to have a team of NPC allies in the final missions, the experience will be adjusted as follows:

I hope nobody was actually surprised that the best selling item in a store whose model is kind optimized for micro-transactions was the most generally useful micro-priced item they've put in it.
-
The only downside of this is that I am at work and cannot log in immediately to give you my money for the storage sale.

Thank you for the free respec.
I guessed this was part of the reason we didn't get one with I22. It probably would have defused some of the stompy-shoutyness around that original topic to have such confirmed.
But I do appreciate it, and look forward to the anniversary celebration. -
Unmitigated awesome.
The only thing keeping this from being Whedonverse perfection was an absence of Eliza Dushku.
The "Village Voice" reviewer who put the movie's ending in the first line of his review, which popped up at the bottom of the listing of showtimes as I was figuring out when to go, ought to be drawn and quartered, though. -
Quote:/em shrugI would think that the new EULA had market stuff in it. And if you did not read the 25 pages of fine print and accpted anyways then that is that.
The EULA says that you agree to it by clicking the "I Accept" button.
There is no "I Accept" button. -
Quote:You say this as someone who has all-but-demanded, and then gotten, direct responses from representatives of THIS game, in the last week? You're really criticizing the way the folks who make this game manage community interaction? What "necessitates" their behavior is "a difference in philosophy" further evidenced by the players council and the other ways they interface with the community.
Baffling.
There's nothing wrong with pointing to the EULA. There's nothing wrong with (correctly) noting that we are not entitled to any compensation for downtime beyond what the PS folks may decide to give or not give us, regardless what any other game (you know better...) might do. Saying these things doesn't make someone a mouth piece, a brown-noser, a sycophant, or disconnected from consumer reality. (Don't bother pointing out that you never said any of the last 3. You don't have to.) Name-calling people who don't see a problem with the PS policies is no better than name-calling people who do. It's still uncivil and unnecessary.
