Which Freedom Phalanx member do you choose to ally with, and what is your general success?

With Wundastar (SS/Fire Brute) I picked Citadel purely on a whim, because I liked his dialog I think. I flew off looking for Clamor, he got lost and I never saw him again. Next time I do this I'll probably go for Manticore as ranged backup while I take the lead.

With Princess Amtora (Fire/Cold Corrupter) I picked Back Alley Brawler as a suitable bodyguard and he was brilliant.

I used a enegry/inv tank.
I picked Synapse, he is pretty cool, did nice damage fighting all 3 Elites before he died... I think the grey dude was a Elite I didn't look :P. I mostly picked him because I like superspeed guys, and his outfit look cool.

Second round I picked Numina, she would have lived if I stuck to plan A and flew up pulling the fliers to us. I though she was gonna go down. Then she died so I needed to go back to plan A, I kill the sceamer girl and then the main girl with radiation. I don't know their names. =) I picked her because I like her ghostly outfit. Also I wanted Fortitude

With my Necro/Dark MM, I took Numina. It was a toss up between her and Manticore, and Manticore was being an *** about me not arresting the Clockwork King. She followed along fairly well, but got lost right before the fight with Clamor.

With my Fire/Time Corruptor, I took Penny, mostly because I knew I'd lose her and figured she was the least likely to get killed on her own. She actually helped in phase 1 of the Clamor fight, though after Clamor flew off I lost her.

Wait... Clamor is supposed to fly off at some point? I'm afraid she never got the chance when Penny and I fought her.

I picked Synapse. A Blaster with bubbles is fun when the player realizes just how much he can get away with now. Synapse acts like that all the time, bubbles or no bubbles, so he worked out fine.

I picked BABs, mostly because I liked his attitude. Unfortunately that character plays on +0/x6/no bosses since she's a heavily AoE focused tank (bosses aren't a threat, it's just annoying that they take twice as long to kill as the rest of their spawn), so BABs was a +0 LT grade pet who promptly ran into a +1 6 man spawn of knives of vengeance and got wrecked. I jumped in to take the aggro, but they've got so many AoEs it didn't make a difference since he insisted on standing in melee with me. Oops.

When I run it on my other tank I'll probably grab one of the ranged phalanx members and see if that works better. On the other hand, my FF defender probably won't worry about that.

This is what it means to be a tank!

I chose Numina, since she did something my character doesn't do on his own (heal and give himself Fortitude). Also, I just plain like Numina, but if that were my criterion, I would've taken Citadel.

I've only run it once, took Back Alley Brawler, and he got himself killed before the fight with Clamor.

Will try other folk on future runs- BAB was underwhelming.

I chose Penny on Magnificent, because I wanted to watch her attack set. Looks pretty cool.

Round one: Penny, with a good sized group, so she didn't have any survival issues. (My friends may have had some issues in deciding which spawns to aggro first, however). Clamor had a Bad Day (TM).

Round two: Citadel, with my Storm/Psi/Elec defender. Mostly because I had no clue what he actually did. I kept him alive up to the main fight with O2 Boost, but was too busy after that to worry about him.

From here on out, I think I'll solo the lot.

The first time I ran it, I was on a brute and I chose Numina. She did get Fortitude in place before she ran off and aggroed a side group while I was fighting the EB at the end. She doesn't solo team-sized spawns well. The second time I ran it, I was on a support character and I took Synapse. I was approaching the final conflict and performed my triple Lich summons while Synapse jumped in and face-planted ingloriously - not even on the EB group yet. My third attempt was on another mastermind, so I chose BABs. He seemed to thrive with the forcefield shields and is my ally of choice with my buffers now. I have also worked out an approach to the EB at the end to avoid silly side aggro during the final combat.

Ran it on my main (a dominator) and picked Citadel because he seems to be the overlooked member of the Phalanx. Other than running off to aggro a few unnecessary mobs, I had no problems getting him to the last fight. Don't remember if he fell during that one, though. Seems like he might have.

Edit: Just finished running it with my scrapper. Was gonna take Manticore, but took Penny instead to, you know, maybe teach her how letting a supervillain walk away maybe isn't always a good thing? Anyway, I almost managed to out-aggro her. But wow, she sure seemed to do a lot of damage while hardly taking any herself. She made it through the final battle without a scratch.

Penny must have been having an off day when I chose her as she managed to wipe herself out chasing random groups halfway across the map long before we got to Clamor. BaB however tanked faithfully for my squishy and the final fight was a breeze

Took Penny, but she was still pouting about my earlier choice and managed to get lost prior to even exiting the base.

Incarnate Warshade, I wanted to take Positron, but his dialogue convinced me that the guy is a much better asset as an intel analyst than smashing stuff on the field. I took Penny instead, she was ecstatic that I agreed to let her boyfriend go free in the first mission.

Shade in Shadow (my KM stalker) and her partner Chaw (DB scrapper) decided to invite Brawler... Being full-on Incarnate types, they didn't really need him. They just thought it might be fun to have the old guy aong.

He did show up when we exited the fort map. Eventually.

... And then promptly wandered off to to chase Talons in some remote corner of the map neither of our player characters ever visited.

'Guess he just wasn't up for teaming with a Rularuu bird-thing and a mutant skunk.

Ran it with a level 40-something scrapper. I talked to BaB's but ended up with Numina for the buffing. She survived the whole way and was quite useful but then I was at default difficulty with bosses thrown in.

Red side well... you only get one choice and he died almost instantly in the Clamor fight. Luckily my stalker rocks and even made 49th during that mission.

I took BAB with me when Texas Justice ran the arc. As a Blaster, I always look for a beefier companion that has more HP. And it was a bit of a sentimental choice. Plus, us old guys have to stick together.

I didn't have any problems with him wandering off away from me or aggroing any groups. He stayed right with me and stayed alive all the way through the Clamor fight. He took the Alpha's and I only took a few hits in the fight with Clamor.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Have only run this once so far, though thought it was fun and plan to run it again.

My ill/emp controller chose Penny -- I have an Architect mission where your character meets him on your first day working for our supergroup, so mentoring new heroes is kind of his thing.

Will probably choose to work with Numina if/when I run this on my blaster, solely for the healing/buffing.

Ran it with my MA/WP scrapper. Took Citadel, because he never gets to do much of anything.
