Caerula Sanguis of Virtue... I reported your name because I hated your costume. You represented the character only in name, as a die-hard Gunnm fan I was very disappointed. (even though its against TOS anyway to make an in-game representation of a copyrighted character)

Did anyone ever find the "right" way to defeat Hamidon? I always wondered this.

In LGTF, you can wormhole him into Rikti and have them do it.

No one ever found it, but someone did talk about it at one point here on the forums. It may have been second-hand info. If I recall correctly, it involved drawing Mito fire in direction while beating on Hami from the other direction. Whatever it was exactly, I remember thinking it sounded like a pain in the butt.

I'm thinking he must have meant the original one. I'm pretty sure we all know the right way to defeat the Weakened one in the LGTF.

Actually, the players did, they just didn't know it. The organizers on Freedom actually came up with the strategy the devs intended, but abandoned it because it was judged too difficult to pull off in reality, and then various exploit strategies and then the hold strategy appeared before anyone could figure out how to properly execute the "correct" strategy.

I believe it was revealed back when the I9 Hami was being tested that the intended way to bring down Hamidon was the "triangle" method. The attackers were supposed to clear the mitos and then position themselves at one corner of a triangle that contained Hamidon at the center with the vertices at maximum range for the players. The players were supposed to range-attack Hami until Hami spawned mitos on their position. They were supposed to race to the second vertex when that happened (trying to minimize deaths) and continue the fight from there. After the second respawn they were supposed to move to the third vertex and finish off Hamidon. If the triangle was configured correctly the players would be in range of Hamidon at all three vertices while the "bloomed" mitos would be just out of range at the earlier firing points.

That the devs thought this was a viable strategy for a playerbase not accustomed to raiding still amazes me. Our playerbase had a better chance of joining Cirque du Soleil than executing that strategy.

In either case, I don't think any of the players that came up with that strategy thought it was the "correct" one; I don't recall them saying so in any case. I think they thought it was too direct, and yet too ridiculous to be the correct one.

Incidentally, I am one of the two players on Triumph that invented the Phantom Army decoy strategy for Hami. At the time, pets were seen as potential aggro problems and almost every server had a "no pets" rule on Hami raids. I and one other player discussed that strategy and put it into practice in a very early raid. Triumph was the first to use the PA as indestructible decoys for Hami, and it was a unique strategy for us for a while because other servers had their own methods for controlling Hami aggro. The trick was realizing they could be hover dropped from the stratosphere completely safe from Hami.

I like to create threads or respond to certain threads with an unexpected answer or reply. Sometimes this results in threadjacking which often times gets to be so hilarious to me.

Some examples have included:

The thread where this guy was explaning how he played heroes who were children (often girls). When I pointed out he had the characteristics of a pedophile, he flipped out and the thread quickly got locked after his hostility grew.

Another fun post was in the "What my 6 year old learned playing this game." I wrote that I created in an AE mission where Sister Flame got kidnapped by child molesters and you had to save her before she became victimized. The responses to that one was priceless. Think Mod8 joined that one.

In game stuff:
I routinely absorb alpha's on pretty much any character I have when the tanks are too slow or want to herd EVERY SINGLE MOB. Once they see my trick arror defender or traps corr taking over the role they think only they have a right to have, they usually whine and rage quit - much to the gratitude of the rest of the team who likes the faster pace I create.

Good times. I will surely miss this game.

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

That has to be one of the most retarded ideas I've ever heard, and I live in Texas.

Matt Smith is a better Doctor then David Tennant.

Though, Tennant deserves a lot of respect for this:

Really love how into it Tennant looks and how classy he is to include all those people, from writers to catering to the truck drivers.

Though, Matt Smith deserves the Top Doctor slot for:

I've only seen 2 episodes of Dr Who ever. And the first one sucked....I barely convinced myself to keep going.

When it came to starting a jihad against stalkers, I was on the forefront.

Honestly, I play a lot of PVP in games....mostly fighters. I have a pretty thick skin when it comes to losing.

Until I faced stalkers in this game. Being killed by stalkers in this game (before i13) was the only thing that ever made me want to pick up my rig and throw it out of the window. Even being perfected when going up against someone with greater skill in a fighting game didn't make me angry. But stalkers......geeze they made me see red.

I guess it's due to usually not being able to see them before you die. When I played Metal Gear Online (before it was shut down) snipers caused me to act the same way.

I fully enjoyed having a scrapper with good enough tohit that I would most often see them coming. Made for some good stalker-whipping.

Well, yeah. He is. Easily the best of the new series Doctors. But I still like Tom Baker best of all, mostly because he was the Doctor when I first started watching.

After one issue launch, I can't remember which, there were problems with people's mail in game. Lost recipes and influence and such.

So when I got home I checked and sure enough, I lost a couple recipe's.

I made a ticket and tongue in cheeked that in addition to my two Enfeebled Actions and a Positrons Blast that there may have been a Ragnarok, a couple Hecatomb's, and an Apocalypse that got lost too.

After being grilled about which character sent what and to who, I got everything I actually did lose and everything I never had.

After admitting this on another forum and shamed for said act I held a couple CC's and gave away the Hec's.

...........I slotted the others..............

One time, we had an impromptu SG meeting in Warburg by one of the nodes. I turned on Force Bubble to keep some fire tanker away from the meeting and essentially glued him into a corner. Since he didn't have a ranged attack ...

Edit: right after Warburg was released, I plowed through one of the few massed PvP battles, ever, on Pinnacle with Force Bubble. I also interrupted 1v1 battles with detention field, firing it on the losing player to give him a chance to heal / regen.
