If you haven't looked at the new Skulls, please do.

Okay, I burst out laughing looking at these haircuts.

Admittedly, this *is* how white kids of the age at which you'd join a gang arrange their hair nowadays.

...Can't we go back to the late 90s and stay there forever? Please?

Aside from that, I actually feel like there's TOO many female members in the Skulls now. They should have a much lower spawn rate than males, just because that much more closely resembles my experience having lived in the "ghetto" most of my life. That's not to say there aren't girls in gangs, just that they tend to be far less overtly so.

This!

Them using shovels would be great.

I'd like them to keep the skulls pattern on the back of their shirts as well.
I have nothing more to add here..... my thoughts too.

Hmmm, yeah, the tatoos and back emblems would be a nice touch to add to the revamp. I won't hold my breath though, the CoT emblem on the forehead would have been a nice touch too but it didn't happen.

Wait. What? Do you meant to tell me there's a plot point in CoH that's kinda major and they didn't do anything with it?! You, sir, are obviously playing a different game than I!

I'm still sad about the CoT update, but these Skulls are fine. I don't want that hair on my head, but I don't mind it on the head of someone I'm punching. My only objection is that the skull is gone from the back of the jacket. That's one of the defining elements of the gang. And not just their gang, but gangs in general are often identified by the picture on the back of the jacket. I really think we need that skull and crossbones returned to their jackets. Otherwise, I have no problem with this update.

Aside from the 'doofus' style haircut, the revamp doesn't really bother me much.

But then again, the Circle of Thorns revamp was fine by me. I suppose I don't have any particular attachment to the way things were.

I won't be a part of your system!

They do need the gang emblem on the back. Otherwise they're not Skulls.

Now I can't get rid of the visual of a pre-i24 skull minion turning around in a swivel chair and holding up a brand new logo-bearing jacket, thimbles on every finger and a very elated voice saying "now for the finishing touches!" In an abrupt scene change, several other members are beating the jacket and a pair of pants with some bats and shovels. The same thimble-clad member picks up the jacket and hands it to an angsty looking teenager.

Go. Hunt. Screenshot skulls.

Add several tattoo styles to the Grunge pack.

- faded jeans
- ripped and faded jeans
- denim jacket
- denim jacket, sleeveless
- symbol on back of jacket (leather and denim)
- a variety of tattoo styles, including canon Skulls tats
- clothing options suitable for Lost (trashcan lid chest piece?)

I like the new Skulls.
I've seen many real live teenagers with worse hair.

I like the revamp, I don't even mind the club hair.

I'll co-sign the request for shovels & the return of their skull jacket patches.

I'm not particularly attached to the back emblems being necessary for the skulls. The iconic part isn't an emblem stitched onto the back of a jacket like a biker gang, it's the skull masks made of human bone.

The new masks look great.

I don't mind the new hair styles either. I take them as an attempt to look like eastern european punk styles I've often seen depicted in movies.

The new broken dialogue that attempts to give the impression of an eastern european accent will be (or has been) toned down.

About the club hair: There's actually a good bit of variety in the new Skulls models, so it's not like every other mob you see will have that hairstyle.

Are those your own inventions, or default NPC named characters? The former, I hope - I'd hate to think I inadvertently named one of my hero characters (Teardrop) after an NPC villain!

Trollkin Buckshot #1: "Trolls the best! We got best stuff! We got crates!"

Trollkin Buckshot #2: "Honestly, Charlie. Why do you talk like that? You haven't been on Superadine for months. Knock it off, you're getting on my nerves."

Besides, The Family doesn't all speak with cheap Italian accents, the Tsoo lack cheap Vietnamese/Chinese (the spread of the Hmong people, if I recall) accents, even the Fifth Column is lacking in German accents.
As far as the Family and Fifth Column, my guess would be that these are groups that have existed for decades in the CoH version of the USA, and as such are largely comprised of people who were born and raised here, and so would naturally lack foreign accents, except for a handful of the oldest members. An Eastern European/Slavic gang, OTOH, is much more likely to be made up of relatively recent immigrants.

Well, there are those "Bad Guys" stores with the "Fresh-off-the-truck" deals. There's one in Atlas Park, and I'm sure I've seen them elsewhere.

That Pocket D hair looks hilarious on the Skulls.

I'M A NIHILISTIC DRUG DEALER WORKING THE ROW PEDDLING THE FAMILY'S JUNK, BUT I MAKE SURE TO TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE SURE MY HAIR LOOKS SMEXY AROUND ALL THESE NEW LADYSKULL MEMBERS

Yeah, I like the Club hair on these guys, too. With the mask, it fits their heads properly, unlike how it looks on a PC (like it's a wig affixed on a large afro, or something). In fact, with her mask, the female Skull with the shoulder length hair kind of looks like the top of her hair is too flat, as if she hadn't washed her hair in far too long (I don't mean that as a nit-pick, but as a means of comparison).

Then again, I loved the Doofus hair. Just playing females, I didn't know it was a hairstyle available to PC's - I saw it on the Skull guy and laughed and thought, "OMG, he has HITLER HAIR!" Brought to mind all sorts of 30's movies with Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff, which may be fitting if we're going for a gang associated with old horror movie genres. Granted, no Slavic youth has probably worn hair like that since the outbreak of WWII, I still enjoyed seeing that hair a lot.

I like the new looks, but I would agree with the other posters that having all the gang members speaking with an accent too much. I'd suggest going Sopranos-style - have the old guys speaking with an accent, and have the younger gang members tossing in the occasional foreign words, and maybe even having the writers make up some slang specific to the gang. Ba da boom, it could work!

I haven't visited King's Row (I will now, though) so I'm not familiar with just how the "accent" is being portrayed on the new Skulls. However, I think that _eeek_ has the right of how it OUGHT to be portrayed.

Basically I'd steal a trick from both _A Clockwork Orange_ and _Firefly_ and have the lower echelon guys be speaking a patois of English and Slavic/Whatever with some completely made-up words to boot. If any group in CoH was going to be a Droogs analog, the Skulls are the group that fits the bill, IMO.

I do think we need to be able to see that the Skulls are a mix of immigrants and home-grown from the neighborhood. If they're all immigrants then it's not so much a gang problem as it is an invasion, unless we're saying that King's Row is like Chinatown or Little Italy. Is that what's intended?

Not every skull you encounter speaks with the accent. I'm not sure if there's a "method" to it, like "higher rank = more accent" or anything like that.

Gonna have to run around KR on beta and observe.
