So far, I like what I see and just have one request. Can we please have an option for the belt without the hammer and the rope? I love utility belts and have many characters that use them, but having the hammer and, to a lesser extent, the rope limits the concepts that the belt will work with. If possible, I would also make the same request for the night stick on the police belt.

This appears to just be more boy stuff (including boys playing girls who look like boys, the point of which is completely lost on me), which is fine. I think between this set, Cyberpunk, Mecha and Space Pirates, you guys have been amply paid us back for the Carnie set, and then some! Glad you're getting pieces you want - enjoy!
Then you would be wrong. Female characters are getting access to all of the parts n the Cyberpunk, Mecha and Space Pirates that the guys do. They're not sexy enough for you? So sad. But the females ARE getting pieces, all the same pieces the guys are. They were not completely DENIED any parts from a pack like the guys were with the CoL pack, especially desirable costume parts like new masks and the sash that nearly EVERYONE has been asking for since this game began. And no, I'm not counting the weapons as costume pieces.
Oh, and gals don't have access to the skull mask? Well, last I checked, they WERE given access to the Baron Jacket and the male Gunslinger pieces that they had (very rightfully) been clamoring for. Want to know what men got traded for in return? Perhaps the so-called tiaras that look like medieval circlets that the men could easily use? Nope. How about the easliy unisex Dragon or Cloud Bracers? Nope again. Shoulder pets? Nope. A tops with skin option, like the obvious V-neck or Deep V? Nope. How about a male variation on the Metal costume set (you know, the Witchblade looking set that only the gals have access to)? Nope again.
We got NOTHING ported over to us. No matter how many times we ask, no matter how many times we point out that the whole "gender-equality" thing is NOT a one-way street, the guys NEVER get anything ported over to us.
So no, we haven't been paid back for the Carnival of Light pack. Not by a longshot.

*also clears throat*

A superhero (sometimes rendered super-hero or super hero) is a type of stock character possessing "extraordinary or superhuman powers" and dedicated to protecting the public...By most definitions, characters do not strictly require actual superhuman powers to be deemed superheroes...

In short, according to the very well-qualified nerds at Wikipedia, Ash is indeed a superhero.[1]

We're going to be in our weekly sync with the dev team shortly. I'll be sure to express the sentiment regarding clean variants of specific parts (I've already talked to a few people about it .)

Not necessarily.

(edited for length)

Who said anything about "sexy"?? "Sexy" is not stated, nor is it implied. My comments were that all the recent/upcoming sets are all based on the wardrobes of the male leads of some movies, there wasn't anything in them from the female actors (there generally are no female leads in any of these movies, unless you count the pink power ranger). I also said that I was glad to read these new items sounded like they made you guys happy - I think that's great!

I've always been a strong proponent of males/huge getting the items females (only) have, and have said so often.

That is a very feminine gas mask GG, I don't know how you can't see that.

For those who are concerned about the "all male" nature of the preview pics, I'd like to direct your attention to page 1 of this thread:

Please wait patiently, this is a Work In Progress (WIP).

Personally, I like what I've seen so far. Thanks, Dink!

I would say that they aren't. In fact I would say that they expected people to ask for that which is why Dink said in the first post that they would NOT be making them.

I'll reiterate since nobody read my last post about this.

We will NOT get clean versions of the Post-Apocalyptic pack parts in the Post-Apocalyptic pack because they would NOT fit into the theme of Post-Apocalyptic. The idea behind all the costume packs is to enable the players to make more characters in that vein. If you start to add stuff that is not in that theme you loose focus on what you were trying to accomplish in the first place. The packs must be limited in some fashion.

So if you want to use X,Y, and Z costume parts for something else ask for it in the forum of a new pack or an individual costume pack.

What? Heroic Transvestite is a perfectly valid character archetype!
It is! It sadly would not be popular and some of them would likely bring complaints from the community as other members would likely feel insulted in how the players portray that type of character.

Nice Start so far. I like that you're approaching it as a number of pieces, instead of a unified costume. Looking forward to seeing more.

No offense, but your name lacks the crimson, so other opinions can continue to be expressed.

(Even if you are probably right from a design standpoint, the fact is that flexibility is the hallmark of the excellent costume system we have, and the comments really only seek to leverage that.)

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

I know I presented it as fact but its still my opinion. But I was trying to explain the design standpoint to those that were asking for clean versions and complaining that by not having clean versions the set was limited in its versatility.

I too hope for a clean version of the mask and pants. And we may get them because the devs are cool like that. It is however unlikely in my opinion.

Can we get backpacks that have weapons sticking out of them?

And weapons whose handles look like they have been wrapped in electrical tape?

A Leather version of the Barbarian Bracer that looks like this.

Body Scars would be a good fit for a Post Apoc Costume Bundle.

This neck collar with the chains hanging down & a plain version of the buzz saw staff the person behind her is holding.

Anything from "The Book Of Eli" is a good idea in my opinion.

Oh and can we get the wool fingerless gloves he wears in the bar scene?

I.E. Fingerless gloves that are somewhat thicker and have a better texture to them.

I've seen the Retro Sci-Fi gloves used on gritty assassins and mercenaries, the Ninja Boots used on robots, and the Barbarian boots used on modern age ice-themed characters. These are only a few examples of versatility. Like someone above said, if a costume piece can be used so creatively for things aside from their intended purpose, then it was well designed. The more specific a costume part looks, the less and less it'll be used on a smaller variety of characters.

As good as these pieces look, and they do look good, adding a clean version of them would open them up to so many more characters to use and would see this pack become far more popular. Right now, the opinion seems to be in between "meh" and "good." Let's see if we can't shoot it past "good" into "great" like Retro Sci-Fi. Offering our opinions and speaking up is the only way this will happen.

See Zwill's little breakdown of this thread in another thread. I'll jus reiterate. clean pieces please! For the pants at any rate.

If there are clean versions of those pants, the set will be a must buy for me!

If not, maaaybe the Titan Weapon Skin depending on how it looks.

One thing to please keep in perspective while offering feedback:

There are many interpretations of "Post Apocalyptic" and what it looks like. No one opinion is more valid than the other in this case. For this particular Costume Bundle, we went with one spectrum of the genre, much of the directions being suggested at the Pummit, so please give your feedback accordingly.

Thanks!

I have villain characters. Have since CoV launch, thank you very much. The Arachnos-trained assassin, the unwitting demon summoner taken over by her charge, etc. etc. I sympathize with the villain lobby, certainly.

Will some people be able to "conceptualize" a fugly, dirty hockey mask and chainsaw into a kitty-saving hero? Absolutely. Thus is the power of this community and the imagination of superpowered fans.

However, will the vast majority of everyone else make Jason Voorhees and Casey Jones? Yes. Overwhelmingly yes.

Mad Max: Crazy dude with a gun.
Ash: Crazy dude with a bigger gun. (Don't get me wrong, I love Bruce Campbell. Marvel Zombies appearance notwithstanding, Ash is not a superhero. He's a heroic character. There's a difference.)
Casey Jones: Stoner with a hockey stick who somehow manages not to get killed fighting ninjas.
Jason Voorhees: Badly psychologically damaged serial killer with mommy issues and a big knife who hunts white people who act like they, too, are mentally damaged.

Maybe I'm having a crisis of inspiration because of my recent glut of well-conceived magical/technologic/science-based character creation and my creative juices are momentarily tapped, but I stand by these costume themes as not the best use of Dink's significantly amazing design abilities.

"Well, Timmy, you can have any super power you want! You can fly, set people on fire, move stuff with your mind! What do you want to do?"

"I wanna crawl through a dumpster and hit things with a golf club!"

...works better if it were released during the Halloween event. This is a "Zombie Invasion Survival" set, if anything.
You know, just because every costume set isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean you need to hate on it and say it's rubbish. I thought the animal pack was rubbish, I just avoided the thread and never bought the pack. Easy enough. People want this. I want this. You're just coming in to be antagonistic as far as I can tell. You've yet to say anything constructive other than "ugh, I hate this set" or "this doesn't go with any x concept!"

Duh.

After an Apocalyptic event I'd imagine most of humanity would be dead.

I don't think my clothing would make it through without getting a tad besmirched. Common sense, you know; end of the world of events tend to be dirty.

Oh, and Zombie Events usually are about skeletal remains or undead forms - not hockey masks.
