A little inspirational reading....
We the players are in a fight against incredible odds. There are a fair few doomcriers, and a larger number who are just not getting into the fight for one reason or another. So, as little as "classy and inspirational" suits this crowd sometimes, let's let The Bard speak for a moment:
" If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day." -
TJ,
Sorry I only had one chance to meet you at this year's Pummit. All indications are that you're a credit to the state of Texas.

Quote:While this would be nice, I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for it to happen.From previous experience of MMO closure from NCsoft... refunds on subscriptions are pro-rata'd from the announcement date back to the card that did the payment.
A refund of the "unused portion" of the sub is fair, IMO. Refunds of 8 years of subscription fees (as I've seen people calling out for) is just silly. That's like asking for your past rent to be refunded when you move out of an apartment building that's being demolished. -

Got a working code first shot. Looks great!
Thanks to the Dev team for this freebie. I've got an idea for the next one:
On Rob Liefield's birthday, can we get a Liefield costume pack?
Tiny Mismatched Feet
Unlevel Eyes that are Different Sizes
47 Abdominal Muscles (Males)
Serpentine Spines (Female)
etc, etc...
Edit: Almost forgot the Titan Rifles/Pistols
I keed, I keed... -

Walking away from an argument does not mean you lose, it just means you don't want to argue any longer. BTW, this particular argument started back on page 1 of this thread. By my count, we're on page 24 now. When will it be enough?
And before anyone accuses me of hypocrisy, yes, I've been guilty of it as well. -

Quote:I couldn't even begin to tell you how wrong this is.
But it's too late because I already have.Quote:...and, yet, you don't bother telling me in what way I'm wrong. So why even say anything in the first place?
Seriously, I don't think this game is overly filled with anime/manga inspiration. There's enough to draw from, if you care to create toons that are anime-inspired. If you don't care for it, you can always do something diffrerent. Isn't freedom of choice great?
I believe the "manga hater" crowd and the "moar manga" lobby are the vocal minority. -
Quote:You can ask for help on this mission, you get several Heroes to come along (Daedelus, Sister Arlia, etc), but if you accept their help, you don't get the badge for the accolade (the only reason to do it without their help). In my experience, the helpers are usually dead before I get to the Minotaur/Cyclops groups due to the limitations of NPC AI, so they're not so great.Second thought: Don't you get the options to take several Cimerorans with you to help? I think that's the "solo option." Ask for help when Sister Solaris offers it.
This mission is, IMO, very difficult if you are not level shifted. Not impossible, but very difficult. Took me nearly 2 hours to finish it on one of my Stalkers. -
Quote:Step 1: Create an MMO.No, that isn't the goal.
The goal is for Paragon Studios to maximize profit.
The bottom line doesn't care about subs per se, it cares about taking in more $$$ whatever the source.
Which the current system seems to be doing a bang-up job of.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Big Profits! -
So all of this...
Quote:Translates to this...Here after talking about that idea with many pvper and also some pver we were agree that the main drops of purple recipes is lately so low that we cant slot our toons like we want unless spending time in pve that not everyone wants. + I will never spent 2k PP per purple set X5 on paragon market to slot a toon : SERIOUSLY !!!
So the drop chance between pver and pvper is unbalance...
That point make us think that not being able to fully slot our last new toon, then we have no reason to invest in buying a new pool for PP on the Paragon Market. As far as I know the dev do everything to let people choose the content they prefer to play but also the drop rate is close to 0 for purple recipe for any pvper (but some luck for pvp recipe).
Lately they allowed a pver contact to turn some pve rewards into pvp recipes.
Now let us ask for the balance game between the content pve/pvp.
We have since long time some pvp points that are worth nothing just a badge reaching 400. The main idea came to us to ask dev to create hero and villain new contact in pvp zone able to turn our pvp points into purple recipes. the right value has been said to be 400/6 so 66pvp points per purple recipe (60 pvp points seems fair) reaching 400 would allow to gather a full set.
So please for once if a redname can take that proposition in count and implement it the soonest possible everyone would be happy.
Another point is that would be also the best promote for the pvp zone Siren/warburg and RV. Some pver would get a try there in team and might have fun also.
Please consider the idea seriously.
I would also be thanksful to anyone posting some constructives comments and or idea to make it become live (keep in mind purple drops reward table is needed for pvper content players). SO:
What do you all think about that ???
PS Expecting some official answer also..
Quote:I ask to be able to turn pvp points we receive in pvp zone into some purple recipes on a new contact in pvp zone (60 pvp points for 1 purple recipe we would choose)
As things stand:
PvP is the only source of PvP IO recipe drops. Not everyone wants to PvP
PvE is the only source of Very Rare IO recipe drops. Not everyone wants to PvE.
To me, this system does not require any changes. If you want a particular type of Recipe drops, fight the enemies that drop them. -

Quote:Since this forum is rated T-for-Teen, even with the disclaimer this thread shouldn't be allowed.
I've had threads modded for lesser "violations" of the ESRB ratings. I'd think promoting alcohol would be right up there on the verboten list.Quote:To avoid causing a violation of the rules of the game, I'd like to point out this. The first line of the OP.
The ESRB falls on the just and the unjust, there will be threadlock if Mod wills it. -

Quote:Paragonwiki doesn't quite agree...And they're not a death cult... They just have death-inspired themes. They're drug dealers, weapons traffickers, rioters and general thugs. The Hellions are actually demon worshippers, though.
Quote:The Skulls are an enemy group in City of Heroes and City of Villains.
Founded by the Petrovic brothers, the Skulls are a death worshiping cult whose initiation is a rather morbid affair. Recruits are ordered to kill a target in a rival gang (or a random person off the street) and are then taken to choose their own casket. They then must dig up a grave and take the front of the dead victim's skull as the mask that will make up their new 'face.'Quote:The Skulls are one of the many street gangs that operate in Paragon City. They are a death cult, of sorts, who seek personal glory and power through death, no matter whose. Today, their leaders lurk about one corner of Perez Park, called the Boneyard. They vie for control of the park, but are in the midst of a seemingly endless gang war with the Hellions.
And FWIW, I'm cool with the update, but (sing it if you know it), that club hair must go. -
Quote:ST damage could be justified with a "shaped charge" warhead. The explosion is channeled in one direction for maximum penetration, maybe a -res effect could be worked in there.Here's another issue though with a Rocket Launcher or demolitions blast set: how do you justify anything BUT AoE damage?
Having at least 3 Single target powers is kind of important.
(Oh! But if we made a demo-blast or rocketlauncher power set, maybe it's special gimmick could be boosting the 'blast radius'!)
Not sure if these actually exist, but what about a round that does it's damage with pure kinetic impact, rather than explosives... in effect an oversized beanbag round?
Lastly, how about an incendiary/acid/chemical round. Splash area big enough to cover the target, but not his friends. You could put any special effect in this power, explained by the type of chemical.
Don't get too bogged down in real-life, this is a video game/comic book. -

Quote:Leo has said this much better than I could have.since our characters backstories don't directly affect the lore and therefore the gameplay of others directly, we have room to explore other options.[
But to be fair, let's explore the assumption that our characters must adhere strictly to existing canon/lore Can one our lore experts please point me to where it states "all ghosts are magical in origin"?
Not "This ghost character is Magic origin", or "This group of ghosts are all Magic origin." I'd like to see where it says there is no other possible origin for ghosts than Magic.
Not meant to be snarky, I'd really like to see it. -
Quote:In hindsight, this seems to be the root of the problems with the Paragon Market. Since it's 3rd-party, it doesn't fully integrate with the game. Problems with promo codes, not tracking items purchased on an account, etc.Once again the devs didn't create the store. They bought a license to use it from a third party vendor. The devs can't just go in and start adding/changing the programs code.
I got the impression at the last Pummit that the Devs are as unhappy with how this partnership has worked out as the players are. But how to fix it is another question, which I don't have any answers for... short of scrapping the PM and starting from scratch. That of course creates its own laundry list of problems.
<preparing for the howls of outrage this option would cause> -
End of the day, it's your toon. Whatever explanation you offer will be correct. That's the beauty of creating your character's back story.
If someone else doesn't like it, it's their problem, not yours.
FWIW, I like your reasoning for Natural.
