so i just came back from tdkr imax showing and it was a good flick.it wasnt avengers great...it was only good.
i also thought spidey was also a better flick
oh and none of you are nuclear physicists...so stop nerd raging.seriously
...and neither are the Nolan's. Classic Hollywood "nuclear power plants can Hiroshima if tampered with", just in this case it isn't a new SyFy Saturday night movie.

It was a good movie.
How does anyone know what a Fusion reactor would do if it was weaponized? Has any scientist or military organization set one off? In the movie it was a plot device (pun not intended)... maybe a bit of a poorly thought out one, still it is what is.
I just don't get why people are nerd raging so hard over this.... Granted it isn't The Dark Knight and nor should it be. People keep complaining that Tom Hardy's performance wasn't as great as Heath Ledgers Joker (perhaps some people are more attached to the movie because Ledger died before the movie was released)... To this I say, there is only one Joker and Bane isn't him. I think what some people are cranky about is that there wasn't enough action throughout the movie. Well the first few minutes of the movie were certainly action packed. I will grant you that the movie was slow in places, however not as slow moving as some movies I have seen. I wish people would watch this movie without comparing it to TDK.
Oh and until you have attempted to watch this POS....then you have my permission to complain....lol....

And I didn't get obliterated with a cry of "Hyper Hyperstrike!", so I have to assume Hyperstrike wasn't seriously raging, either.

If I don't stand up and take a whack at "nuclear = bomb" they'll do horrific things to me.
Like transcribe a hoary old physics tract into binary...
This fission device was capable of creating a nuclear bomb because it had a flux capacitor.

My word! You mean they aren't showing us how to make actual working nucular bombs in the movies!? My entire belief structure has been shattered.
Bane is a amateur, MacGuyver could have done better with 2 quarters and a stick of gum w/out the wrapper.
And I can think of several situations that might cause a fusion reactor to detonate it's remaining fuel.
The idea that fusion offers a "safe and clean" alternative to fission is this: propaganda and wishful thinking. Everything has a cost. The only safe and clean alternative is to use less energy.
But this is a movie. Narrative is all powerful. If the plot says it explodes, it explodes (just like car petrol tanks).
I really should do something about this signature.
What about energy sources like solar energy, wind turbines, or hydroelectric energy? Aren't they safe and clean?

The second law of thermodynamics: There is no such thing as a free lunch.
I really should do something about this signature.
Various types of Solar have lots of pollution factored in during manufacturing.
Wind affects the ecology of an area, killing birds and bats. They also introduce a lot of noise pollution into the area. Again, pollution is produced, just concentrated during manufacture. There's also the large footprint of wind farms as there are no efficiencies gained by scale.
Hydro affects the ecology (altered water tables, can interfere with fish populations, etc). Hydro can have detrimental effects on local geology as well (the creation of Hoover Dam has touched off earthquakes in the area as the bedrock underneath is compressed. Plus, concrete (which is what most of these dams are made up of, gives off CO2 as it cures. Think about millions of tons of concrete.
I am.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
I enjoyed movie.
But thinking about it, the reason I like it most is because, as a Batman movie it felt like it had a lot less actual Batman than the last two films. What it was, was a character study of Batman and it really worked when thinking about the three films as a singular work.
One of the better trilogy/series of films as a coherent whole, imo.
I saw TDKRises last night, though I enjoyed the movie, I was also very disappointed with it.
My issues were mostly with how the endings played out.
I didn’t like how Talia was so underwhelming. I mean she’s supposed to be a trained League of Shadows assassin that was also the legendary person who escaped the inescapable, yet all she does is stab Batman, and then gets killed in a truck wreck.
I liked that the movie was leading on that John Blake will be Robin/Nightwing. I mean his parents were killed like Bruce's, he looked up to Batman and was technically a ward of Bruce’s since Bruce was the beneficiary of the orphanage he came from, and he was a police officer and a skilled detective. I was like oh yeah, he’s Dick Grayson that had his name changed due to the circumstances of his parent’s death, as that would have fit in the context of the mythos and would have been a great intro for the character. However, when he said his real name was Robin, I was like what the hell? My friend who watched the movie argued, maybe they didn’t think that Dick Grayson’s name wouldn’t have resonated with the audience unfamiliar with the mythos, but I really can’t see how most people on this planet wouldn’t by now know who Dick Grayson is.
I liked that Alfred preached to Bruce how he’s wasted the past several years by not doing anything after retiring from being Batman, and that the world could have used and needed Bruce Wayne during that time, and that Gotham needs Bruce more than it needs Batman. Alfred was completely right, but then Bruce listens to none of it, instead he decides to just kill himself off at the end so he never fulfills the legacy of his parents. Batman may have had to die to give an ending to the series, but there was no reason for Bruce to do so as well. It didn’t make sense to me, as his fruition just made him seem like the selfish prig that the beginning of the movie made him out to be, which really peed me off, as it just steps on the central idea that permeated the film.
Overall, I thought the movie was a good one, but with a better ending, it could have been much greater. This movie may have served as resolution to the franchise, but it never really serves to resolve itself as a standalone film.
