I've not played much in the past few months. I only logged on today to check the event out and found my choice of character to be impacted by being exemped to the point where two of his most useful offensive abilities are locked.

If it had been more clear in mentioning it, I would have enjoyed it more on a character that functions better in that level range.

(Also, I've never run Drowning in Blood.)

Because the only one people really want is the -kb

So they intend you to bore yourself into frustration farming this thing.

Boycott Ncsoft if they close down Coh.

I'm 1 for 2 on this event. First run was okay. The second time the teleporter failed twice. So yeah... maybe releasing it early wasn't a good idea.

As for the events themselves, they're not overly exciting.

Can't really farm it for the Enhancements with the 20hr cooldown (so lots of alt jumping)

It seems to have a similar XP/Enhancement drop to the DfB/DiB Trials.

Glad a team can run at less than four if teammates drop for whatever reason (so you can ask for fillers again!)

Disappointed that I can't convert the Overwhelming Force enhancements.

Very irritated that I can't put them on the Market (at least I can email them out)

[and I don't know if the word has been put out 'effectively' that the Event is live; seems that there wasn't a lot of chatter for it in-game this morning; IMO.]

Ahhhh just what I was looking for the do we like tis event or not thread....

Biggest gripes are similar to yours. We have Enhancement Catalysts coming out of our ears, well I do on some characters, and they develope a new Universal enhancer ( The Overwhelming Force IOs) and the catalysts won't work and neither will the Enhancemnt Boosters.. I got one today that enhances damage by 16% (down 26% from the generic damage IO I'd replace it with), enhances recharge by 16% and accuracy by 16%. I forget what that came out to when I slotted it but it wasn't that much.

My other gripe is the "hospital" which bsically drops me back in the lobby. You take my 50 (+1) level with a t4 vigor in Alpha and reduce the level to 29 and then when I run OUT of blues fighting multiple AVs and EBs in the Arena match I have NO combat nurse to buy from??

Now for the good side...

I enjoyed the Hiest mission .. allows players to do diiferent jobs to earn different badges and the set up requires everyone to follow instructions and do their job to succeed. The Arena match is definately a good challenge and i enjoyed the "intermissions" between Avs where we fight off ninjas and Rikti monkeys.

Unfortunately I never got to try this on test before it wnet live or I' have voiced my opinon of the lack of a place to replace inspirations at the very least. And probably would have been crying for the IOs to be upgradable. Also might have come up with another award or two.. My corruptor has run it twice no and needs another badge or two but she cant earn another IO for almost 18 hours yet and will now get even less rewarde merits if she doesn't wait till tomorrow.

Overall not bad and when you consider this is the first time EVER we even had a summer event I can't complain too much LOL

When you're in the lobby, try the popcorn - it comes in an inspiring set of colors.

Yup. Not really sure why they decided to do it this way. All I can figure is that they want to make sure that enough people are still running it towards the end of the event.

I ran it twice last night. Got one Acc/Dam and one KB-KD Proc.

I was the Thief and then the Hacker in Casino Heist. It was great that the Hacker role included a limited temp. stealth. Both roles were rather simplistic.

I agree that the fights in the warehouse could have been spiced up, but there isn't anything wrong with them.

Time Gladiator was slightly less interesting, and I thought that the AV fights were actually kind of difficult (but each time we went in, we were light on buffs/debuffs). The first time, none of us knew what to do with the Incite the Crowd temp; it seems obvious enough, but it just popped up on some players' bars, and we didn't know what it was for at the time.

The second time, we got the God-King-whatever AV, but I'm not certain we got the badge.

I'm still a little unclear about the full operation of the event, but I thought it was interesting.

I don't know why so many are so peeved about needing to run the content repeatedly. Isn't that pretty much par for the course for the best rewards? I certainly remember running 2-3 Incarnate Trials a night on 3 or 4 characters across a one-month span to unlock those rewards. Is it the limited availability of the event that puts a greater demand on this? I just don't really worry about it that much...

The sets should become tradeable though. I just wonder if it's too late, considering that the set doesn't have a level range; I wonder if that would prevent it.

Speaking of the set, some people were complaining about it, but I think it's great, based solely on my one reading of the bonuses, that is. It's a way to get knockback protection (albeit with all 6 pieces slotted) into a damage power! It just allows for more options, which is never a bad thing.

I'd give the event a B.

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

Not at all thrilled about this one because all my toons are 50+1 and I not only don't get to use my incarnate powers but all my usefull powers are greyed out.

Why lvl 29?

The only enhancement that is any good is the kb proc the rest are crap. 20 hour cooldown on worthless enhancements? lol

PS grade for the summer event - F as in fail

Of course this is my opinion.

So...I liked it...liked it enough to run it four time before bed time on several different characters to switch up the feel for the arena matches.

I really wouldn't mind if some of the Heist mechanics migrated into regular missions.

If we can sell the stuff on the market, that would be pretty cool. I don't actually have room for the IO set in most the builds I'm playing.

Did the thing once last night. I found it to be underwhelming.

I supposed the thing that bugged me the most was the fix at level 29.

You know, I'm bloody sick of so much stuff in the 20s. It's like the devs are just plain fixated on that level range.

Sure, I could see that they didn't want to make it level 50 because then incarnate powers make it a walkthrough. You can't really balance content for incarnates and non-incarnates, I get that. However make it level 35, or 40. I'm just so sick of the 20s.

Personally, while I'd like a KD proc, I'm not really all that fixated on getting one. I'm not sure I'm willing to grind through such a boring event to do so. Maybe on a character which exemps better than what I chose last night, but still the prospect of repeating that has little if any appeal.

Too many alts to list.

I wouldn't know. Nobody's doing it. This is a new record for apathy to set in, less than 24 hours and already nobody cares about it.

The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)

Virtue Forever.

Talk to the Popcorn guys. They sell inspirations.

But personally? I've had a lot of fun with the event. It's a neat little thing there. Could it be better? Sure. Nothing is perfect, after all. But I'm not going to throw a giant net tantrum over hypotheticals. I had fun, so therefor that's good enough for me.

Yes, the AV fights are a bit of a challenge, but honestly? I prefer a challenging AV fight to just a Rofflestompfest.

Ditto.

I absolutely LOVED the event. Took me a bit to remember I could click on my objective to get directed to it (Hitter).

The 2nd movie was full of awesome. I somehow ended up with a perfect PUG. 2 blasters, 1 corruptor and I was on Stellar Lass, one of my tanks. Oh sweet Jeebus is was fun!

All of this. I was lucky and got one yesterday. I really need two more, but this event is so boring. Ah well, no one is putting a gun to my head.

If you play on Virtue like your signature suggests, you're lying. I was able to get an event team with the Team Up Teleporter within SECONDS of hitting Queue from 3PM to 11PM PST last night.

It wasn't even that hard. On one of my runs my Fire/shield was the only one that got sent back to the warehouse for the final fight of the heist. I wound up soloing the first AV and the 80% through the second before a GM ported my teammates in to help me.

All the exemplaring did was make the event take longer and be more annoying. I just cannot believe they gated the KB>KD IO behind this.

Correct. But I genuinely hope no one is crazy enough to use this as a KD proc. I suspect these will be going for 300M+ when they are able to be put on the market.

I like the event.

I like that we are skéd to lvl 29, the fact that we can only get the IO reward once a week and that we cannot put it on the market. I take the tp bug for granted even if it can ruin a run. I like the badges, I like the story from the heist but I am glad that I now know what to do in there! That took a little while mind you.

Good work and entertaining as what.

What're the proc chances, anyways? I'm thinking of putting it in Lightning Field.

Thanks and yeah I saw GGs post on the POPCORN guys thing is its not like they have a huge sign over their head saying "get your inspirations here!" I;m sort of used to BUYING inspirations from a contact or a combat nurse not the conscession stand guy.. The bartenders in Pocket D being an exception to the general rule. But now I know.

Oh and I LOVE the AV battles especially in the arena. I think its the first time in years I left any mission with absolutely no inspirations in my tray. Now admittedly by SW/WP brute used a grand total of 1 blue during the entire double feature but she's freakishly wonderful My Dark/Dark Corruptor, Plant/Rad Controller and DP/Poison Corruptor all went through blues like crazy trying to keep the AVs debuffed and team mates alive.

I can extend that further .. I have a friend and playing partner that is on the West Coast and I am East Coast. By the time he gets home from work its midnight my time .... we ran three Summer Event mission by simply joining the LFG and had a team in less than a minute on Virtue and we were playing till around 1:30 AM my time. I haven't noticed as many folks advertising to form teams like they did with the Halloween event but I ran 6 characters through the missions yesterday and n had more than a minute or two wait before i was inside. hardly see that as apathy

If I'm right about the XP; Summer Blockbuster could also be a used as a continuation of DfB scale XP for those that don't want to be scaled back down to DfB power levels.

Casino Heist has 3 AVs

Time Gladiator has 4 AVs

So the event has 7 AVs worth of XP; if I'm mistaken in this, please let me know.
