DING! Damage auras with a change for KD!

I want to get a set for my PB so I might play her again. Freakin' stomp of fail.

20%, but there's some evidence that it may be broken.

I hope there is a bug and people will be able to put them on the market. Gates are just annoying as all get out.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Just ran it on my troller who's 30, so the leveling thing wasn't such an issue. No prob with TPing back to the lobby. I died like 4 times during the arena, thankfully a team member had a revive power! Didn't get the proc though. :/

I like the idea of the holiday events mixing things up a bit like the new Halloween one does. I can foresee running this a few times, maybe more if I get around to looking at some of my other toons. The cool-down for earning the IO (or whatever you'd call them) is sort of sad, but I don't mind alting all over the place.

Its not a terrible event, its allright them first 2 or 3 times, but farming it endlessly just looking for -kb which has been one of the most requested things ever is just silly.

Boycott Ncsoft if they close down Coh.

Look how the winter event works. You can buy the set or the proc if that's all you want. You can just play the VARIOUS events until you get enough to buy what you want. Here, you have to go through this extremely boring event, as many times as is necessary to get the only thing many of us want. Especially since the set bonuses on this set are nothing to write home about.

Man Issue 23 and its attendant content is really some of the worst I've seen in this game in years. It's shocking after the win that has been Issue 19-21.
Surprisingly... I'm agreeing with Geko.

The double feature is fun and fast, yes. Having it be the only part of this... eh. I mean, admittedly, a lot of the stuff you can think of for summer would be tough to implement - a temporary water park? A temp sprinkler power to run through?

I just can't see running through this event very often - aside from the "required to have four people, no more, no less" requirement (and not really caring about the IOs,) there's just not that much variety.

And then there's hybrid... if there's ever an example of dev-designed farming, that's it.

*sigh*

And the "crop" in that instance really isn't worth farming over in the first place.

You know, after everybody blisters their fingers getting these, they'll mainstream that mechanic somehow.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

No doubt. But unfortunately we have no way of knowing how long this will be. Will it be right after the event or two years from now. But these procs are game-changers for a number of builds. I've never bought into the idea that you're 'forced' to do anything for a reward. No one is making me do this terrible event over and over other than me.

But I still don't like it because this particular IO has been requested for many years and introducing it in this way just seems like they want to annoy us.

I have been enjoying the event. I did it six times last night with four characters, trying different roles in the Casino Heist and figuring out the best monkey- and ninja-fighting techniques. Many people seemed unwilling to read/use the notes on their roles or the crowd favor power, but I suspect people will gain expertise with time, or give up angrily after refusing to read the directions.

Of my four IOs, I have not seen the proc yet. Not sure what character I have that would slot the set. It does have a ranged defense bonus that could be slotted in a ranged AoE, so I'm sure I have a Defender or Corruptor that would use it.

Most of my characters can exemplar to 29 seemlessly, so I'm not bothered by that. I actually LIKE exemplaring because incarnate powers make all the 45+ content feel like easy mode. One of my teammates in one run complained repeatedly that he didn't have a useful attack chain at 29th level, but other than that, nobody seemed to object too much to the auto-exemplaring.

Twice during six runs, I was the only one teleported back to the safe house. All my characters have Recall Friend and were able to summon the rest of the team before the AV stage, though it did seem odd that the only guy on the team with Recall Friend was the one that was teleported back.

My slow brain just figured out I could actually choose my role in the Casino Heist... for the longest I thought I was getting a long string of Hackers at random. Must've subconsciously gravitated towards the same poster numerous times.

For the most part (being that we kept having players drop early yesterday) I wasn't always getting stuck with 'last choice'. I think I played 6+ times and got Hitter once, lol.

Today, I was slow on the draw and my picks were more varied (Grifter twice, Hacker twice); the last run is when it finally *clicked*.

Really gotta quit zombie-playing sometimes.

Perfect Grifter.

I had that role four or five times last night and was never able to figure out the right things to say to get the Perfect Grifter badger. Reading through the forums, it looks like the badge requires some combination of flirting and saying something crass.

This is a big problem for me. As a female player, playing androphilic characters, I'm not going to choose to make my characters flirt with a female NPC. But even if I did (and I tried that once since I thought I'd exhausted the other trees), I'm definitely NOT going to choose 'say something crass'.

The designers need to take this one back to the drawing board. Who is this event written for? Adam Sandler? The second Grifter objective can be satisfied by choosing any one of the initial three branches. The first objective needs to be the same.

This is a misstep. And a pretty misogynistic one, at that. I hope I missed an alternative for getting the badge.

Think of yourself as playing a role. With lines to say. You know, like in a movie?

No kidding, Sherlock. My complaint is that the content itself is generated for a male/gynephelic audience. There's nothing to prep me or my character that even rationalizes why I have to flirt and say crass things to get the best outcome (assuming I didn't miss an alternative solution, in which case my complaint is nulled).

That is bad design. You think my POV is trivial. So does the commentator after you.

Obviously the role I'm *supposed* to be playing is "Male gamer playing an MMO." Gotcha!

You're another step removed from your character. Your character is now *another* character *in a movie, following the script of said movie.*

Y'know, acting. Or RP.

"My character wouldn't do that," in this instance, is about as odd a thing to say as being disappointed to find out Mark Hamill can't actually use the Force.

Ya, I know. And the typical male player gets to play this content more-or-less in-line with his world view (setting aside the distasteful need to say something crass) to get the rewarded outcome (and let's face it, to avoid letting down the team), and the typical female player must overcome her worldview in order to get the same reward. Not good.

The neutral option (pretending to be a regulator) is conceptually just as valid for being a grifter, but in my playthroughs didn't seem to work as a distraction. Again, maybe I'm overlooking something, which, again, would moot my objection. I'll have to play it again to see be extra careful.

Question about how Overwhelming Force works. I slotted it into Lightning Field, and the results... well, I'm not sure if it's working. The proc is firing, because the combat logs tell me it is, but there's no effect. Nobody falls down or is knocked down or anything when the logs say "Overwhelming Force knocks Frost Sorceress from their feet!"

I think someone else mentioned a similar problem. I would recommend /bugging it.

Already done so. Hoping it's just something easily fixed.

The "Gladiator" section is a lot of fun -- nothing fancy, just a cool map and a variety of enemies. The badges take a little bit of care and coordination, without being ridiculous.

The "Casino" section is an interesting idea, but the timer ruined it for me. For the talky bits, I felt like I didn't have time to really think about what the NPCs were saying and try to work out the proper responses...I just had to click randomly and hope I got lucky. So what should have been an interesting puzzle just became trial-and-error.

I get where Corinna is coming from - it's not so much about the player's avatar - or character, if they RP - the problem with the correct play through of the Grifter role is that it's written as if the character in the movie is male, while the other 3 roles are written in a gender neutral way - nothing in the text or actions of the Hitter, the Thief and the Hacker suggest that the movie character is female or male - but the only way to be successful as the Grfiter is to follow a path that's clearly written as if the movie character is male.

Actually, if the movie posters are to be believed, the Grifter is the one female on the team.
