Well I know from Freedom friday's that I24 will bring AE content and fixes. I hope we get something on the Battalion, even if its more information. I'd like to at least get a glimpse of what Battalion looks like.

Personally, I'd like some costume change for sale, like the Rikti/PPD hardsuit etc.

SSa-2 would be awesome. and power pool customization would be nice.

NCSOFT may take away our servers and beloved dev team, but they can't break our spirit and community. with all your power, NCSOFT, your victory will be bitter-sweet. I, personally will be there to laugh at you when you face-plant into the ground.

Maybe a fix that would finally solve the confusion of knowing if someone is in SG base or on mission map...really...how many years will this bug continue to be ignored?

Given that i23 ends with there not really being any more Praetorian people, I don't think it's too big of a worry regardless.

I'm hoping for power pool/app/ppp customization... it is LONG overdue.

Try it sometime.

Also, if everyone else quits the team, leaving you "off team" then you will still be tracked as on their team until you manually "/leaveteam", at least for things like "the active player on your team is now..." messages.
I saw this one day before it caused a crash of my game.

Everything is getting worse.
I rather like that actually. It lets me delve powers without cluttering up another channel that people might actually give a crap about.

Like many, I desire Pool Power customization. I also would like to see Psi Melee in i24 (if not before).

I think some proliferation, a few new power sets, and QoL changes will do fine.

I use local for that. Either you can be completely alone even in a populated zone just by being far enough from others or nobody pays attention to it due to spam of it anyway.

I had that impression too, but reading Cole's personal story changed my mind. It specifically states that every civilian in Nova Praetoria fled when Mother Mayhem was destroyed, which is why Cole was free to use his full power against Arachnos - there were only invaders left.

Quote:
Emperor Cole watched the small flakes dance around the picture, falling to the bottom of the globe. He knew that Imperial City had been taken by the Primals. The civilian populace of Nova Praetoria fled when Tilman was destroyed.

Yeah, but where did they flee to? If they fled out of Praetoria, then who is left in Praetoria for Cole's successor, whomever it might be, to take care of?

I think there will be one more thing in Praetoria... A trial for Hami and the unlock of the Genesis slot with it using Advanced Physical iXP. I would guess it would be issue 24. That plus Nature Affinity and Bio Armor seems to be a pretty consistent theme for an issue.

I suspect that by this point its probably impossible to do anything that doesn't hammer at the engine's limitations. The engine is held together by toothpicks and prayers.

I'm hoping to see an update to "Tab to Next Enemy" where you can set a RANGE.

Then this game would be as perfect as it can be.

...don't forget Duct tape & coat hangars.

You're right, though it's hard to do anything BIG without hammering at the engine's limitations.

We've known, for example, the engine's limitation on displaying more than x actors (PC and NPC) at once- its something you'll see if you "leap" to a safe "empty" spot in a high-population rikti raid that you find is full of crap once you get there.

We can look at the mothership raids and see where the "power latency" creeps in- and by the way items that have recharged on your tray don't match the recharge measured on the server, and we know that the server's clock is "slowing" to address either load or excessive traffic management.

(We (as players) may not know whether the issue is server cpu time or the server naturally throttling down time 'ticks' to address a thoroughput threshold (if the amount of data needed to keep displays current exceeds x, throttle down the timescale to reduce the data thoroughput) but we see the issue the same- powers that look like they're back show 'recharging' when clicked and objects that should be in range give "not in range" errors when attacked.)

Without getting any more technical than that, you can probably see that both of these issues wouldn't appear on smaller Leagues with fewer mobs. Or, if you're gonna have large leagues, do things to encourage spreading out:

- the "two team, two path approach" like everyone's least favorite section of Lambda (preferrably with additional mechanics that don't encourage the squishies be abandoned by the tanks). This breaks up the team, putting them on separate maps with their own groups to interact with. team "a" only needs the data for team a's foes, "b" only needs their own.

- Discourage clustering. In the BAF, everyone groups at the tennis courts on my server and foes are pulled to there. What if Seige and Nightstar buffed one another based on proximity. What if they buffed their reinforcements in a similar way? If these buffs are more effective than the "buff everyone to the cap in every stat" that you get from the whole league sitting on top of one another then maybe people start to spread out and take on the foes before they get too close to one another... even if it means that they're not buffed to the max cap the game can handle anymore.

...and, as a bonus... if we have people NOT constantly overbuffed to max thresholds because we're not stacking on top of one another, then we can back away from some of the gimmicks the devs have resorted to to bring a "challenge" to the uberbuffed game. When you bring the game mechanics themselves down from their defined top limits, you open up possibilites within them.

So, I think there are a few tricks that can be done to eke a little life outta this engine without pushing too hard on the toothpicks or blaspheme the prayers that hold things together.

...Then again, I kept my last car until the real axle rusted off the body (well, after getting some encouragement from a pothole at 65mph...) so I might not be the best judge of when its time to retire something.

Typically if your car's engine is 8 years old, hand built by people with only a passing knowledge of how cars work, constantly tweaked and modified by several sets of completely different people with only a vague understanding of what had been done to the engine before, and the dashboard starts to rattle as if its about to collapse on your legs when you go over 50 mph, its probably time to get a new car.

eh, use some 550 cord to stabilize the dash, wear some shin guards to take any potential collapse in stride, liberally apply duct tape across the whole thing and turn up the radio loud enough to mask the rattling. That ought to get you an additional 20,000 miles or so.*

NEW AT! NEW AT! NEW AT!

Seriously though...a new AT is what I'd most like out of I24. Especially considering some leaked info that's been going around. As far as I know it can't be discussed here on the forums since it was gleaned from the .pigg files but a quick Google search will reveal some very interesting stuff on the drawing board.

Where did you get that idea? Unless Hamidon ate everyone between I23 and I24 most of the population should be OK.

Tyrant kinda nuked the place. Not just Nova, either, as far as I can tell. The Imperial City is totally visible from the Magisterium in Praetoria normally...can't recall seeing it after the blast. That would seem to indicate that, y'know, there's no more Praetoria.

If there's no more Praetoria, there's no more Praetorian people. Yes, there are people of Praetorian descent that evacuated to Primal earth and whatnot, but unless someone's got a rather sizable chunk of land that nobody wants sitting around Primal Earth, they're pretty much going to have to integrate at this point.

I guess we could stick them on the moon, or something, but what are the odds that the Battalion just kinda blows it up so players can't ask for a moon zone anymore?

Imperial City is still intact, and Neuron's tower is also visible from the ruins of the Magisterium, along with the sonic fences.
The scope the blast was also so limited that the buildings across the street from the Magisterium are undamaged.
