  1. Hey Organica, when I heard the news and knew there were 90 days left, you were one of the first people I thought of and started thinking, 90 day project. So glad you are doing another (last) one. They are informative and entertaining. May run into you in game as I have previously during your first market project.

My current 90 day goal other than cataloging/saving every guy ever made, is to get everyone who hasn't gotten there, to 32...that's the goal, but for an altaholic, that's a stretch.

Look forward to reading your updates!
  2. Yes I logged into game, played a character, exited to server select and still had the problem. I also exited the game completely and still had the problem. I will actually try tonight to verify its not still an issue, unfortunately never had any time last night to double check.

And yes I have seen this probably one other time months ago, and it didn't lock as many slots, which was fixed by doing the server swap you guys have described.

That's why this time it seemed really odd.

I'm just glad its not a system wide problem, it will probably be fine when I do get back in.

    Thanks all.
  3. I have tried the server switch as well and even logged all the way out once. Had the same issue. Like I said, I'll try again tonight. But, I was just curious if this was related to latest patch.
  4. Last night I logged into the VIP server and my beam rifle, street justice, and beast mastery toons were all locked. If I've already bought these, why are they locked...and note, I'm on the VIP server, so I still have an active VIP account.

Also, just to see if this was for all purchased sets I bounced back over to Virtue where I had my staff toon and it was still unlocked.

    Anyone else see these issues?

I was not in the mood for dealing with CS last night, but I will tonight if it isn't resolved.
  5. Biggest pet peeve...

On Mission Map / In Supergroup Base indicator still broken after all these years.

My teammate is already in mish, I'll enter...Teammates say, why did you go into the mission so early, we weren't done filling the team...OH...it said you were in mish...guess you were in SG base.
  6. Skeeter

    I24 hopes?

Maybe a fix that would finally solve the confusion of knowing if someone is in SG base or on mission map...really...how many years will this bug continue to be ignored?
  7. I like the idea of new power pools. In 7.5 years the power pools have expanded by...4 powers. And those 4 powers took 7 years to be introduced. Not even new pools, just 4 powers.

My theory is it becomes a balancing issue with the fact that every AT can take a power pool. On the other hand, you'd think the devs would get the biggest bang for their buck putting out sets that will be available to every AT.

I'd still like to have more "well-rounded" heroes instead of what seems to be 2 or 3 of the same formula of power pool combinations. Some pools even for concept aren't appealing.

    Grapple Swing

Yeah I thought that too at first, but then there's magic carpet and hover board...that are fly variants.

There is ninja run and beast run that are hybrid jump/ss variants.

So this would be one more...like I said I was addressing the ridiculous cables to nowhere problem but still providing the same movement.

    Grapple Swing

    Potential Alternate Solution:

Obviously, the devs won't do cables/webs/grapples that shoot out or any form of animation that requires interaction. OK.

Thinking about the actual movement when swinging, can this be turned into an inverted Super Jump. Today the arc of a jump has the apogee in the air at the top of the arc. What if this is inverted and the apogee was placed a few feet from the ground/rooftop and the ends of the arc are way in the air with a cap that then forces you to glide back down. This would work similar to SJ as you hold the space bar [or your mapped key], you continue to swoop up and down.

(I was also picturing a Batman-esque type of fly with gliding using a cape, much like the Arkham games)

Essentially what I'm proposing is gliding/soaring. It will give the same illusion of swinging without the ridiculous animation of wires shooting off into nowhere. If...yes IF this was implemented, your imagination can at least make you feel like you are swinging.

I could also understand if this was not a combat travel, but a detoggling travel power.

To me, this seems like something reasonable that could be implemented.

OH and yes I am a programmer, so I'm always looking for potential solutions to problems.
  10. One suggestion/solution I would like to provide to your "dilemma", which if I read it correctly is the detoggling: What if those travel powers were handled as "Only Affecting Self" type powers to prevent the toggles from dropping. Maybe even some retoggle memory so it turns previous toggles back on.

I don't necessarily need to have these travel powers on in battle, but the detoggle is definitely a negative. I don't use these powers just for that reason as well. I loved hoverboard when I got it, until I had to turn everything back on after travelling to mission.
  11. Sorry if this or similar idea has already been suggested...

What if a tanker had a similar inherent like MM's supremacy, except in reverse. The tanker absorbs some percentage of the damage of his/her teammates, possibly within a specified radius.

Another spin on this same idea would be for a tank to essentially have an inherent aura that provides +resistance for all teammates within a certain radius, thereby reducing he amount of damage they will receive.

Just something that popped into my head.

You'll also note that his polite, factual post generated a similar response while your hissy-fit generated a condescending response. In the future if you want to be taken seriously instead of a petulant 6 year old, you might want to try to emulate Adeon.
Forbin, I have seen posts from you for years, yes years, on these forums and posters have a history of being on the receiving end of your condescending attitude even when its not expected. I have seen posts where you have responded in a very unkind or rude manner to some folks who have had legitimate comments and weren't rude or mean to begin with. You patrol the forums and post for the sake of posting and nitpicking as if you are an expert. Practice what you preach and take some advice from Adeon.

I took your response to my post in exactly the way I read many of your responses to other folks in the past. My post made an assumption that folks on the forums have played a while and realize how capes and auras can be unlocked (at level 1, no), but you found that what I wrote was completely wrong for some reason. The OP was looking for an indicator on market items to warn buyers that there are other ways to get access to things they are buying by doing some work in game. I agree with that and gave an example.

Temper tantrum...really?...Whatever it was, it was completely directed at you, and no one else because I've had my history of having to deal with you before and your dismissive, holier-than-thou attitude to posts that you feel are beneath your highness' status. Really, you couldn't interpret that I meant capes and auras could be unlocked in game? You were so in a hurry to make sure to indicate my post was absolutely wrong. You also assumed I didn't read Adeon's response before posting...wrong. I had actually completely forgotten about that part and was glad he also commented.

Feel free to throw around all your fancy wordsmithing as you respond to this and belittle me, but I've said what I want and I'm sick of reading your posts. I'm done with you. SO, you will get the last word...enjoy. Keep being such a standup forum poster who sets the example for all of us.

Jeez...I'm so sorry I wasn't explicit. You can buy something that would be available at level 1....OR you can play the game and unlock them at levels 20 and 30. OH and do I now need to be explicit that capes will open after a mission at 20 from the city representative and auras will open at 30 after a similar mission.
  14. You can buy auras and capes to be unlocked from level 1. Those can be earned during gameplay.
  15. I'd like a poison blast. Currently I have a dark/poison corruptor that has all dark colors shaded green and call that my poison blast. Making due with what we have. Considering the -Tohit it goes with my concept of being poison.
  16. I think the one point that has been missed from the OP or not explicitly given is that there are weekly sales, if your stipend comes in after that week (when it should have) you missed a sale.

The one thing that could happen is that sales could be extended to be 2 weeks long addressing one of the key issues that the OP has presented and knowing the problem will persist for the next few months as it is corrected, this would be a reasonable solution.
  17. I understand the desire and I can see something that would make training easier, but also a little more RPG'ish immersive. I've always found "training" odd that someone standing there immediately shows you a new power while 20 other people are standing there doing the same, and no real training occurs other than pick a power.

Get rid of "trainers" altogether and click a level up icon on the UI that would make you be teleported (not requiring a load screen, just an in-game cutscene or background image of you being trained while you pick your power). This could be origin specific:

    1. Science - your character is strapped into a chamber or device with scientists around looking at screens showing your new power level.
    2. Mutation - your character standing in a chamber with a computer showing DNA strands showing that you have changed (similar to science)
    3. Magic - you are surrounded by midnighters standing on a hexagram as your new power is imbued
    4. Tech - you are in a tech lab surrounded by technicians and parts
    5. Natural - you are in a dojo / shooting range type scene with an instructor carrying a clipboard

...And possibly as you click the power you want, you see the animation of it as you pick it. Give a real feel of having been trained.

Sorry if this hijacks the intent of the thread, but it did get me thinking and I do agree at a fundamental level to the OP's intent.

I'd like to see if it would be feasible for the dev's to add in a option that would allow you to cancel getting the vet reward at that time. (ie a way to back out of the vet reward option selection) I know that over on beta I messed up the vet reward order on one toon because it wasn't clear.

It's still not clear. I think it will be unclear to returning vets.

Ah good point on the Cancel, which used to be available on the old system. I can edit my options to also include that. Thanks Rangle.
  19. As much as this request was for a joke, how about making it an emote select and it is what gets played when your HP hits 0. And Paragon can make even more money with various purchasable death (unconcious) animations.
  20. New I21 claim system is "reversed" with a Claim All. It appears to claim all vet powers from newest to oldest. The issue comes in when claiming the blackwand or nemesis staff non-boosted versions. The origin specific bonus is the "last" selection and if you have already picked the one that is your origin it is too late.

    Options:

    1. Leave the order alone and put up the origin info even for the non-bonus selection.

    2. Change the order to be chronological from the oldest vet reward to the newest.

    3. (Least likely) Allow a "respec" of vet power selection so they can be reselected if an error occurs.

    4. Add Cancel option back in as in old vet claims (which can be used as "Skip" to access the desired item) [Edit: Added item 4]

I realize this just requires being vigilant to know what to select, but even doing it manually seemed to be confusing. I used to just open the Vet badges and work my way from oldest to newest with no issue. New system, I hosed 2 new guys assuming I picked the right one first thinking that the origin specific bonus was still available, and I got it backwards.

    Thanks for your time.
  21. Having the exact same issue tonight as above.

Have run from shortcut and from direct application.

Does not show up as running under apps or processes in task manager.

Ran fine last night and no new updates downloaded in between.

Guessing its related to server issues and somehow doing a "bootup" check, not finding what its looking for and then killing itself. THis is speculation of course.

He was on some of the earlier trials I wrote about. I told him that I'd have to be careful to not screw up with him watching. But then I said something about continually targeting people on the team, that something was wrong. Which was apparently a stupid thing to say, but I had no idea the prisoners could confuse you, all they do is run past you and never attack, and I'd never been confused like that before (aside from AE Baby I've run trials on two scrappers and a widow). Also this was right after the servers had come back up after the Hotfix, so my first thought was "something really weird it going on, does it have anything to do with why they took the servers down?"
That was me! And still reading. Don't worry about the confuse thing, you did fine. Was playing my Ebil Dom, Freezelok.

    Kicked from LaM

I had this problem for 2 weeks now already. Same thing last night after 5 attempts. Then did 2 BAF's back to back with no issue.

No new PC changes or software, just last week's patch, with whatever changes it contained are somehow causing this.

Also, was starting from RWZ every time this was an issue.
  24. I've had a similar discussion with friends in game that TA's effects would be great with different animation/projectile. I didn't have the OP's idea in mind, which sounds interesting, but was thinking instead of arrows if they were all grenades/devices that could be thrown/tossed, in the event you didn't want an arrow themed character.

In the event there was a reskin, various alternates would be neat.
  25. Same here. Long wait on a zone load from the character selection, no actual message and end up back at the login screen.

All new after latest patch, just like everyone else.

EDIT: Seeing this problem mostly on Virtue and more populated zones on loading. Also, have NEVER had this problem before, and no recent changes on existing game machine.
