Have you tried checking the Task Manager? If there are any copies of the NCSoft laucher running there, highlight and choose "End Process". Then try restarting the program.

I've suddenly had the same problem. Either nothing happens at all, or if I go into it and select Run as Administrator (I thought that might be part of the problem), it comes up saying Access is denied.
Any thoughts?

Access is denied thing happened as well. Looks like we got the same issue. When I get time I'll delete it and reinstall I guess.
I've found that it's possible to bypass the launcher and go straight into the game, but that'll only work until there's a patch.

This buggy crud had better get fixed come launch...
Make sure the launcher isn't open in the background with a dialog box opened. I noticed it started doing this for me when I installed the CoH Subscriber Beta. Worst case, you could simply reinstall the launcher (I don't think that'll ever force a reinstall of CoH... but not sure).

I've noticed this comes and goes for me. The Launcher locks up so I have to open task manager and kill it. I am then able to launch the game fine but next time I go to play the launcher is locked again.
For me it was doing it for a while then stopped for a period (worked normally) but after the last patch started locking up again. Not a big deal just a nuisance.
I've re-installed it, worked once and then happened all over again.
Safe to say i am not going to re-install the launcher every time I want to play the game. When I do my old trick when the old launcher used to die (launch the game directly) it refuses to connect to the login server...
More and more people seem to be getting it at the same time, hopefully someone will step in with some magic fix.
Are you starting the launcher and then clicking on the coh button or did you make a desktop shortcut for coh?
Having the same problem, then again i supose they paid naff all for the system off ebay so what should we expect, they've had our money and we cant get on half the time their happy.
Personally I've tried using the shourtcut and launching directly from the file with no joy. I can't do anything about it from the task manager because it doesn't even get that far!

Don't bother to uninstall and reinstall the launcher...

If I click on the Launcher from my desktop or my start menu I get nothing. It doesn't appear on my Task Manager it's basically as though I never clicked it.
If I click on the Launcher icon in my Sys-Tray then I get the Launcher to appear in my Taskbar and it also appears on my Task Manager list but it does NOT pop up on my desktop.
This is getting ridiculous. I haven't played the game in nearly a week between Irene's power outage and this new little Launcher issue.

Having the exact same issue tonight as above.
Have run from shortcut and from direct application.
Does not show up as running under apps or processes in task manager.
Ran fine last night and no new updates downloaded in between.
Guessing its related to server issues and somehow doing a "bootup" check, not finding what its looking for and then killing itself. THis is speculation of course.

Forgot to mention the processes tab.
General note - if something isn't showing up as a window, it generally won't show in Applications. So you check processes in problems like these.

I've been having the same problem. For me, what usually works is to right click on the launcher running in my system tray and choose quit. Then I restart the launcher using the shortcut on my desktop. Occassionally I've had to reboot.
Definitely getting annoying.

Didn't read the whole thread but I have my launcher configured to exit after launching the game. So no problems with stuff running in the system tray. I have no background download either, but that's a small price to pay for stability.
so I go to get on tonight and my NCSoft launcher won't come up. I click it and nothing happens. I even went to it in the program files and clicked and nothing. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
