Ok, nobody else found one so I did some searching:
-
Quote:That still doesn't explain primal villains going there, and only gives a reason why heroes from primal earth would go there, not much explanation for how the heck they learned of it(though you do get an out of the blue call from a contactFirst, all villain groups are a danger to innocent people - and second, being a hero isn't restricted by national borders or dimensions.
).
The only way to explain villains there is "one person's villain is another's hero", like Scirocco maybe, but that doesn't work for the just plain evil. -
Actually, "are loathe to" was an uncommon, but accurately, used phrase of the past.
I don't think it's an adjective. I believe it is an "object" followed by a prepositional phrase.
Edit:
Also, "loathe" and "wont" are used in the same situation. I think they tend to mean similar things, like "are wont to" means "are likely to" and "are loathe to" means "would rather not". -
I just wish we had more "completely free" option.
Actually, I would like the way the vanguard pieces are obtained to be more common.
Where we could get them immediately from level one on all characters through a purchase or unlock them per character through play.
That would be perfect. -
I'm not arguing against you, just being Captain Obvious.
If you want a close look to the Black Knight armor you can go with valkyrie pieces and possibly barbarian pieces as well.
Maybe they didn't add the black knight armor because it was rather close looking to valkyrie, but I think that would be a dumb reason. -
Quote:He would be better as a vigilante.Seriously, I would like to see Scirocco switch sides since he is the least evil of the Arachnos Patrons. (Maybe Mu'Drakhan or Mu'Vorkan can replace him to give out his patron arcs?)
Maybe not in this SSA, maybe in another one. Maybe not as part of the Freedom Phalanx (He would be more appropriate as part of the Vindicators, right?) but I would like to see him become a hero.
He wants to be honorable, but is willing to go to more extreme measures.
Although, his patron arc story is that you end up "crushing his hope of being a savior" and turning him completely to villainous retribution. -
Quote:Honestly, another game already did the thing CoH should have. It's from the same original company. For cross server teaming, why can't characters be temporarily referred to as Toon@Server? If you want to be really cool, only use that convention when there is a clash, so most characters will simply have their character name. I would guess this would be handled through the LFG tool anyway, so surely it could handle it.
I usually get to play either really early in the morning or really late at night. I finally got to go a Mag iTrial last night, and got 25% of the AIXP needed to unlock Hybrid. Hard to imagine being able to run the trial another 3 times given my current schedule, but with cross-server teaming... who knows?
The best thing they could do was have character names be whatever you want while only global names would need to be unique, then you could have the same names across multiple servers, or even on the same server.
I think the problem is that character names are the "file names" for all the character's data.
If they had a generic file name based on creation date and account number(instead of global name) then you could change the character and global name whenever and even share it among multiple accounts, with the usual file name stipulations of identical ones having a "1, 2, 3..." after them to sort them out.
It's more complicated than I state here, but it would be better for several reasons.
It just won't happen in this game. -
Quote:Well, War Witch is different. She has two versions, both trainers, that are present using different emotes while one is tangible.Again, you're assuming too much, in particular, that this could be a power that makes her tangible/intangible. Most contacts are separate art assets with locked in appearances including, of all things, the yellow ring at their base. I recall several demorecord videos that showed them whenever the asset was used. There's no reason to expect that the alphaisn't similarly "baked in" to the asset.
Someone with demorecord could check that easily enough.
I don't presume to know how it really works, only how it seems to work and how it should.
It just looks like War Witch may be the easiest NPC to change due to her having two versions already. -
If you can't resize them the same as any other window then you can't resize them, sadly.
They did not expect anybody to have those windows open for long in any situation where they would need to see what is behind them.
That is why you can only open or close them, not resize.
developer foresight is lacking in this regard, as well as plenty of other ways, and they don't like to change things when they have hindsight unless they cause serious stability issues with the game for lots of people. -
Their chainmail is a "market only" set, so I doubt the armor pieces and sword would be anything less.
-
Quote:What about all the weapons that come out of thin air?I don't like playing on an archery-based powerset simply because my character pulls their arrows out of thin air.
Can we please have quivers?
I think it would take a tech change for weapons, but arrows could be made to work with an illusion created by clever quiver(hehe) placement. -
I just would like all the masks and "__ with skin" options to be solid instead of looking like very thin body-paint.
Actually, keep the body-paint looking options and make a solid look an addition, since some body-paint looks work for some ideas.
It just really sucks to see skin-tone through what should be a solid shirt on females or a solid mask or a solid strap outfit(angelic pattern, a.k.a. Fifth Element: Leeloo thermal wraps). -
Quote:"Server-less" does not mean "one server". It means "many servers displayed as one large server".Meh; having separate servers allows for different server cultures.
In an environment such as that, you can easily allow rules divisions for players to choose, similar to how zones get multiple copies in this game.
It's actually a rather simple idea. -
I use local for that. Either you can be completely alone even in a populated zone just by being far enough from others or nobody pays attention to it due to spam of it anyway.
-
Ummm, we're only talking about turning her "tangible" in Croatoa.
She isn't really mentioned in much, but the stuff she is past that point is practically all new since Going Rogue where they should have, and still can, made her tangible in those instances without needing to change every other example.
Also, why can't they just "detoggle" or delete the power on her NPC in Croatoa that makes her intangible/transparent?
It it is now "canon" that she is solid again then they could just do that. You can explain her not looking like Serene by saying "she changed Serene's body to be her old look and they were identical people anyway".
There are easy things to do, but the devs do favor the complicated approach.
Also, anybody remember the episode of Star trek The Next Generation about the Dyson Sphere where they find "Scotty" in the teleporter of a wreck?
"Scotty" says something like "you need to embellish a little, son, if you want to have a reputation as a miracle-worker".
That seems to apply quite aptly to any developer comments about "we could do that but...". I bet they exaggerate to avoid getting hopes up and surprise players when they actually do the simple thing when it finally is high enough priority to take the 5 minutes(some things) it needs to be changed. -
The Mac edition was around the time of Issue 14 and Mission Architect. It was after Ouroboros and the Midnight Squad and RWZ.
I agree that it sucks though.
They should change it, which would only require a simple number tweak under 1 minute. -
Quote:You got the wrong point. The delusion that FW isn't a Resistance themed zone is just stiff-armer desperation.
Yes, it is a Resistance zone, BUT the Resistance in that zone completely forget everything you ever did for them in the previous zones.
Noble savage and Katie Douglas, saved from the tunnels of Neutropolis and freed from the seer network respectively, completely forget they ever met you before, let alone that you saved them.
That's horrible storytelling. -
Quote:I really think there should have been a solo resolution to it.While they're awesome, they're also deliberately left unfinished, with players being kept from smashing the dictatorship and bringing the Praetors to justice - the 1-20 stories lay the groundwork for the Incarnate Trials, which provide the resolution to the storyline, where all the loyalist AVs and their evil empire that we couldn't defeat in GR are finally brought crashing down.
You don't make players feel "as powerful as the NPC incarnates" by having them need 12-24 people to take down a single "non-incarnate" like Mother Mayhem or Marauder or whoever and then the same amount to take down Emperor Cole(another instance of Statesman being tougher than anybody else in game, since he didn't beat Hamidon when they had a truce).
They should have let incarnate players solo Emperor Cole, or group if they didn't have all the incarnate slots filled. That would have been smarter. You could choose how you want to tackle it and feel powerful.
It was the wrong way to do the story in this game.
Edit:
I also would have preferred some form of end to the story for non-VIPs as well. -
Quote:No, that's the same "general modus operandi", not a continuation of story. It ties into the Warden path - helping the Resistance fight the loyalists, but without blowing up stuf that doesn't need to be blown up.
Yes, they are like the Wardens, but they pretty much forget you are one of their Warden buddies. -
Quote:All of Praetoria has this problem.I've always agreed with this opinion. I see no reason to constantly raise the base difficulty as I've seen happen recently, instead of letting people make their own tasks harder if they should choose to do so. I got quite frustrated with the HUUUGE spawns in a few Dark Astoria missions with my worthless, easily-dying helpers, but at least that was Incarnate content. Why are we seeing Incarnate content in the 30s? That's not even RWZ level.
They just don't seem to pay attention to the systems already in place in this game when they design new content.
"They players want more challenge? Let's increase the challenge of these enemies rather than asking them what difficulty setting they are at and telling them the obvious 'increase your difficulty'." -
Quote:There are some MMOs that avoid that problem by having the enemy type determine power. One of the oddities in any MMO is the high level normal - in this game it is the rock throwing crowd in the itrial. They are level 50+ normal people - it makes no sense.
Instead of an enemy having a variable level, specific enemies are all a specific level that makes sense.
Things just don't make sense in most MMOs though. -
Quote:Honestly, I would agree if I didn't recognize "sidekicking" as a step towards a better ultimate goal....The sidekick system is not only fantastic, but in my opinion this is a mandatory feature for any new MMO.
....fewer levels or no levels at all.
That may seem bad, but there are other ways to advance, like slotting different types of enhancements and a sort of "power collection game".
Levels are just there to gate content and end up separating people.
The future is either very few levels, under 10 and ideally under 5, or no levels at all with alternative advancement.
Edit:
After all, you can't really sidekick up to 49 and jump on a LGTF or LRSF or Hamidon Raid or much of the high level content. Every TF/SF/Trial has a minimum level requirement, sadly.
And no, they don't have story needs enforcing those minimum level requirements because they're usually self-contained stories and the "story order" rule is broken by every story arc out there which doesn't have a minimum level to restrict sidekicking. -
Quote:1) There should eb a checklist in your badge tabs(unlockables).Next question: how do I check to see which ele pieces I still need to get?
Ancillilary Next Question: it feels like the pet from the new dark/ control/dom set is a regular looking TAN dog that happens to be in a cloud. Is this true? Or am I just playing with my graphics to low/confused by the existence of some sort of temporary pet that arrived while I was /afk?
2) Your graphics are too low if it looks odd, or a graphical error. Its color depends on what you set it to, a base color and a cloud color(my guess). -
Quote:Just checked, it has a 2 hour recharge for Mission Transporter, permanent version.Mission Teleporter, the personal-only permanent one originally from the Valkyrie/Mac pack, has a three hour recharge.
I could have sworn it used to be a half hour. Maybe they changed it to longer to make the temporary one more valuable without having to make the temporary one be a really short recharge?
You would think the "one person" version of such powers would have the same or shorter recharge.
Oh well. -
