Saw nearly all of them that year. Didn't see "Fast Times" until last year. I remember some underage kid trying to get me to buy him a ticket to see "The Road Warrior".

Poltergeist (This movie was THE reason I stopped sleeping with a teddy bear.. that freaking clown doll man I tell ya.. I kept expecting my teddy bear to try to kill me at night.)
And who could forget ET. Wonderful movie.
Oh man.. Annie, The Toy, Dark Crystal they also came out that year. Saw those in the theater as well.
The Flight of Dragons (loved that movie) and The Last Unicorn.. I don't believe I saw these in theaters but I do remember watching them on the VCR.. as well as The Plague Dogs.

I mean nobody remebers the the metric ton of rubbish westerns and war movies that the studios spewed out in the 50s and 60s, they only remember the good ones. For example here in the UK, those are used as schedule filler during the day when everyone is either at work, at school or generally doing something else.

Saw pretty much everything on that list, many of them at the drive in (!)
That's the summer one of my pals got his license, we spent every weekend at the drive in no matter what was showing. Saw a lot of great stuff and a lot of total garbage.
The best experience by far was Road Warrior- it was a beautiful night and most of the crowd were out in lawn chairs picnicking. When the gal gets ventilated by the arrow cannon, the WHOLE crowd was howling NOOOOOOO! People were honking their horns, flashing their headlights...it was fantastic.

I still love going to our local Drive-In theater. They get current summer release movies and only charge adults $5 bucks for a double feature.
Huh. Good year for movies. I've been feeling like we get lucky if we have 2-5 good movies in a year, as of late. I should look at the year Braveheart came out. I remember that as being a good year for movies. Remember enjoying that and First Knight quite a bit.

I was 15. That summer was epic.
I was 6. I don't remember much except I was enrolled in some bizarre once-a-week gifted class away from my regular schooling where we were learning French. I know that sometime around then I got a Tron activity book and became mildly obsessed with the aesthetic of that universe. And I remember seeing Star Trek II in the theatre and crying at the end. But I didn't see most of those other movies for a few years yet.

I counted and realized my sixteen-year-old self saw nine of those films that year (and probably some others not on the list). I had no idea I used to go to movies so often back then. And I know I saw a couple of those more than once too.

Oh good lord that DID! And I only am turning 46 this year!! I still remember punching my friend in the skull and not talking to him for about a month with just 2 simple words uttered before I saw the film.... "Spock dies."
