To those who complained Tyrant was too easy...

Thanks.

Thanks a lot.

He's now near impossible. It's GREAT fun.

Nope. Took him down twice today no problem. A bit of challange is good for this game.

What, you expected people who've likely NOT already run through the Magisterium enough times to know everything stone cold to succeed?

Just make sure that you kill the light from the well deals that pop up after the crackle. Anticipate them and have a few people on duty to kill them fast like the shadow portals for Black Swan.

If you do that Tyrant "is" easy.

Not quite as easy as you say for all leagues. I was just on 2 on virtue that failed at the Tyrant stage unable to get him reliably down below 30% as he'd keep getting healed by the Favor of the well and people being defeated.

I'll let you know if his difficulty was changed when I do my Virtue run tonight at 6:30 Pacific. If the mechanics and difficulty haven't changed from how it was on Beta, then it's going to be a problem with the players in your runs.

At any rate, most of the complaints about Tyrant revolved around the fight being anti-climactic and unengaging compared to previous high end trials. If you have an eligible character on Virtue you're welcome to join my run.

There's not even that much to learn, if things haven't been changed. "Use Quills on Light of the Wells to one shot them" is a pretty easy learning curve for the Tyrant fight.

Edit: On second thought, there is slightly more to it. Bring a full league of 24 for maximum success (Usually a LOT more fun with leagues of 12-16). Don't stand in the lightning patches. And use Quills to give yourself a level shift.

im just tired of all these " do x to achieve y" type things...we are 1 for 1 against tyrant..frankly thanks to hybrid only opening on on trial once i do that trial ill likely NEVER do it again. was a bad idea by the devs to do it like that.

We told them that during BETA and they told us to POUND SAND!

That is only because people were not killing the well things. Kill those and that stage is no different than killing Black swans portals.

I don't mean this to sound abrasive, but what would you suggest? "Do X to achieve y to win victory" is to provide an alternative to the regular bag of hit points encounters, like Reichsman and most of the game. Tank taunts, everyone else does their thing is fine for regular content, but I appreciate the developers adding another layer to the formula for Incarnate Trials - otherwise 24 man encounters would be very boring indeed.

I've run this trial LOTs tonight and I'm really pleased with the difficulty now. I thought that it was too easy to fit with how much they built this fight up and as it is he's not a pushover and you feel like you've accomplished something when he goes down. You need good leadership to succeed but once everyone's got the tactics down in say a week or two it won't be a problem, imo.

I did find it MUCH harder on live than it was on beta, but that is perhaps down to a much lesser percentage of people on Live knowing what to do. Having next to no debuffs didnt help either as everybody was trying to get the Hybrid on their main first.

However in conclusion, the first day of a new trial will always be the hardest. Wait until tomorrow for people to have unlocked the slots on their mains so there is a more balanced team available. Debuffs are key in this trial i found.

Interesting! I'll be sure to pick up plenty of Super Inspirations for tonight's attempts, then. Thanks for the perspective, Damz. I'll be posting my thoughts on the beta to live experiences as well.

Did I say people were not killin the lights? Nope the connections were constantly severed by a dedicated team as soon as they came up. Its just as I said we failed because Tyrant kept getting healed by defeated players and his favor of the well.

the game does get easier as you level.

doing a vahz sewer mission as a true level 4 is much tougher than anything level 35+

Ran it with three different leagues on virtue this afternoon. Succeeded every time.

Which is odd because I find that the "easier" trials are often exercises in cat herding for the first week.

And as we get more powerful after the Battalion Trials, we'll find the Tyrant Trial quite easy

He wasn't too hard, but he wasn't very exciting, either. Too many ultra-PBAoEs was annoying on my short-ranged Defenders. And the one that does get annoying red letters, the eye beam, was hella wimpy.

People have said here that ground rooting patches of death were "easy" to get away from... Guess they were wrong lol.

On a full league, he's not that hard to take down normally.

Trying to do The Hard Way? Very hard, in fact in the 5 runs I was able to do before getting pulled away, we didn't pull it off. The other badges we were able to, but not that one. To not even speak of The Really Hard Way.

Did it twice today on Virtue they didn't seem to have a problem with it.

That was the players' fault. You get a 5 second warning for each lightning strike "Air crackles...". If people run then the strikes are spread out and away from Tyrant and then everyone rushes back in to attack. No one dies. Tyrant doesn't heal. Strikes don't stack and insta-gank anyone.
