Yes, that would be nice!

Yeah, that's a horrendously bad idea. If the items actually were only available to long-time players I would be more in favor of those folks who want exclusivity... but anyone with a bunch of disposable income and a subscription can bypass the time part of it. As long as that is the case, no one has the right to claim that the T9 VIP pieces have anything to do with loyalty or long-time dedication.

I, for one, have been very loyal to this game... just not long enough to get to that Tier quite yet (and when I do, Celestial will be long gone). I just hope that the New Method is no more onerous than the one T9 Vets have used to get sets... and doesn't cost me any more money than my Subscription (not touching my Points) like it did for T9 Vets.

I dont get this.
NO, thank you.

Keep them VIP only. As in, only VIPs can wear it, regardless of how it's purchased. It's VIP armor, it should stay VIP armor.

As for selling it in the market, sure. Although it should be pricier than standard costume pieces. Why? I'm selfish and seeing every single person in Celestial down the road will ruin the VIP Reward Feeling.

So yeah. VIP Accounts Only, at the bare minimum. Paragon Market is /shrug. I'd prefer an incredibly tedious manner. Like a million Empyrean Merits.

On the flip side...
Stop greed. People want everything and can't be content with what they have...

Moving on from playing devils advocate, if they have a alternate means of getting tier 9 armor it should be on the market and cost much more than any other regular costume set. Its special, its VIP and if you want it you should have to fork out some cash like a lot of other people did to get access to it. I say 800 points for the whole set at minimum.

this is bad bad bad... you do very wrong... you will be punish very hard... copy your name ten time on a sheet...

800points? are you kidding? is this manipulation?

It took us VIP 3 month to have the points to take them, and it would take 2 month of stipend for others?

2400points at least!!

The cost of a power set is a lot for a costume if you ask me. Maybe 1000? To be fair if you paid to get these you didn't just get the VIP costumes. You also got other stuff.

On the other hand, does it suck for the people that thought this would be exclusive and spent literally hundreds of dollars to get them now? Sure does. But I bet the fact that they could make a pretty penny off of these AGAIN overlooks that small inconvenience.

I completely agree with this. I am only now approaching T9 VIP status and I would like very much to be able to get anything I end up missing. Though I would also be willing to wait until it comes through the rotation, how ever long that may be.

I didnt said "give everything for 400 PP".
Im just T9 too but if Celestial is going out definitely from the T9 VIP, they should offer ways to get it.
I think they should put each part of the Celestial costume set for 400 PP. Being 3 parts it would be 1200 PP.
Celestial part 1, part 2 and part 3 exactly like the T9 VIP.
People can buy each pack individually but not costume pieces individually.
I think that is fair.

Would you rather not have the pieces at all? I could just say make them a t9 VIP reward permanently & make an argument that they should only ever be available as such. It's not about snobbery (I do like how people who haven't earned it yet refer to it as snobbery) but respecting that the t9 VIP rewards have been intended as a token of gratitude for paying subscribers.

If the whole set went on the market you don't think it would cheapen the whole concept of the T9 VIP rewards?

Yes, because we didn't get loads of other stuff for being VIPs anyway....Oh, wait.

Selling them is fine by me. I was never too happy with the idea of top tier locked costume parts anyway, so I'm just glad other people get to enjoy them now.

All we need is for the Ascension armour to be made an account unlock now, rather than account unlock AND level 50 gated....

I'm a t9 VIP. I've had Celestial since the day it came out, and bought a lot of points immediately to get there. And like I said, I think your suggestion sounds like the worst of both worlds: most of the exclusivity is lost, AND the players who didn't have it are still unhappy. So yes, I think it would make more players happy to not sell it at all than to sell it and leave out the best parts.

And no, if the whole set went on the market, I don't think that would cheapen the concept. There will be two other VIP t9 sets I can wear for exclusivity by then.

The whole thing is clearly a matter of opinion, so I don't particularly expect to convince you here, but that goes both ways. Despite my having spent $150 extra for Celestial, I still don't agree that any part of it needs to stay exclusive forever. We don't yet know what the alternate method will be, anyway.

..

I'd have to agree with Hopeling here.

The Celestial set will be "so last year" when it gets to the market (if it goes there at all). We'll have at least one other new and cool costume set to show off with.

I remember seeing lots o' outrage about super packs when they came out. I must have missed the memo when they suddenly became popular. I bought superpacks when they first came out, but have no intention of EVER buying them again. So count this as a vote against putting T9 rewards in super packs. That wouldn't be rewarding loyalty, just $$$ spent.

I wouldn't object to this, especially if it were still restricted to VIP players.

Lets not get the rage consume us and lets wait for the alternative method to get Celestial (I guess what it will be, and I bet it will involve money lol)
I want the set and I just reached T9 so cant wait to know how they will do it, to spend next tokens on Celestial now or wait for the new method and begin getting Ice and Fire or Mecha.

Just sickening. How selfish.

I just wonder why they keep adding some of the best stuff as VIP only sets. We've been asking for stuff like celestial for eons. We've wanted mech for a long time. These sets seem better than anything they've put out in....maybe ever...

Makes sense to reward your paying customers with these, then, eh?

If they put it on the market, and people buy it, the people that bought it ARE paying customers.

I should clarified that by saying paying subscribers, if it wasn't already that obvious what my intention was since T9 VIP rewards are only available to paying subscribers.

If your sub lapses, do the costume parts disable as it is? I'm fairly sure they are already available to non subscribers (ie all former subscribers). So, then, I still fail to see the conundrum.

Yep. They are.

I'm a subscriber and have been so for almost 5 years. Yet, you're telling me I get no chance at the sets I've been wanting for years?! Hmmmmmmmm. Seems pretty whack...

Also, they'd make a lot more $ off these sets if they put them in the store

Are you a VIP subscriber? Have you hit T9? Did you claim Celestial Armor?

If so, let your sub lapse and report back

I know you meant that as a joke, but I do love to test things out...

However, as I pay more than a month at a time, you'll have to wait quite a while before I even have a chance to test it. I think it's likely if nobody can answer it by October, I'll probably have forgotten, but who knows...

Joke aside, I'm pretty sure as it now stands, you only have to be VIP to unlock it, and then you can let your 1 month sub lapse. So it's not exactly exclusive to any group of longtime dedicated folks, only folks with 1 month of dedication and a lot of disposable income. Like any product, when it first comes out, it's expensive, or limited in availability, and as time goes by, more are available, at lower prices. That's how things go. *shrugs*

They actually did say, before Freedom launched, that there would be ways to get the sets after they were out of rotation.
It was stated only slightly more vague than it has been recently, but I do recall it being said (if they need to point to anything, hehe).

Seriously, the more I read about this topic, the more I agree very much with this:

Maybe even put a tier unlock for it, just lower than Tier 9.
I think costume sets are too big of a thing in this game to keep such great things so highly gated.
I've always felt that way, long before Freedom came, and I still feel that way.
I'd rather see more people using the bits and pieces than have access to a bunch of things I might not even use myself.

I don't think Paragon or NCSoft see much of a difference, there. If they did, the rewards tree wouldn't directly equate sub months with Paragon Points bought.

According to the Paragonwiki, Tier 9 VIP rewards only remain unlocked for VIP subscribers. Maybe that's changed since the wiki page was written, but I don't remember anyone announcing that.
