Huh. Fancy that...
... Too bad Incarnates and being your own Well is the course the story was taking. And ultimately is the penultimate power.
I don't know why you took this revelation as an opportunity to attempt to shove it in my face. If you want to play a gnat, that's fine. Just don't get upset when you're hit by the flyswatter?
Edit: To cite another source, it's fairly obvious how vast that power difference is, going by Scirocco's ascension and ability to just march through Grandville like he owned the place, up until he ended up beating himself to be stopped.
So, yeah. Cool that there's powers that originate outside of the well. Doesn't make them utterly inferior aside from minority cases... well, no. Even Battalion is just drugged up on a billion Wells or so!
Anywho, back to my lurking. See yourself out. -
Quote:Because it wasn't meant to be a practical perma thing, which is one of the "Forgotten Facts" people here tend to ignore. If it is possible to get your to hit up to the level for instant snipe and keep it there permanently, why didn't the devs just change sniper attacks by reducing the cast time and removing the interrupt instead?
Alternatively we can push the ToHit requirement VERY high so Corruptors/Defenders can't easily do it, and force everyone to stack Tactics or munch Yellows.
I personally like this idea.
Otherwise, we can make it a Perma Reduction and nerf the daylights out of the snipes. Which will happen if people push for that change. -
Dual Blades is a very good set! Attack Vitals is very strong, and is a chain you can repeat indefinitely with very low recharge (That is, Blinding Feint > Attack Vitals for Non-Stalkers).
Beyond that, when you begin to slot for more and more global recharge... the combos should be ditched for just focusing on the best attacks. Dual Blades is 'flawed' in that the combos just don't hold up.
And for that? Blame Vengeful and One Thousand Cuts. -
Afraid not! You're one of many now.
You are Legion. -
Old news is old!
No, really. I see far more "Blood Blasters" than I see Water Blasts on Virtue. -
Quote:There was?Thankfully, I never stated or hinted that Avatar was anime. Regarding the rest, people were complaining that there weren't animation options that summoned water blasts in the stomach area due solely to that show.
And Wind Blast was done loooong before that bald-headed twerp was even a glimmer in some writer's eye. -
Diellan! Wild Growth and Wild Bastion's Resistance and Absorb respectively are not enhancing, when they should be.
Just a heads up. -
-
It's not something I'd like to see before other things are done first. Eventually? I guess. Anytime soon? No thanks.
... Still waiting for my Wind Blast. And Throwing Weapons. -
I...
What!
Well THIS is a surprise. -
I think the worst part, overall, is due to how... weird the timing scheme Paragon uses for these, that apparently(?) this happened on Wednesday, not Thursday.
So, even if you were willing to deal with Twitter(/em gag), there was a good chance many people(like me!) had absolutely no idea when to even look.
As OCD as I am, and how much I like spiffy auras, this... was a real mood killer. One of the absolute worst ways you could have gone about it, Paragon. Even as an owner of /em facepalm, I thought THAT was bad, and you had thousands of those.
This? Was horrid. Absolutely horrid.
If we're going this route of hyper-exclusivity of in-game items, a route Freedom was aiming to abolish due to how that made other players feel (primarily toward the Veteran system, but it was also done in-general to many other exclusive items), again? It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Either way, 0/10. I'm extremely unhappy I don't get my spiffy Kirby dots because the time zone functions you all use change daily. -
Quote:... You aren't using Sleet? That's one of the most overpowered abilities in the game.Well, I'm glad they have decided a reasonable path to fixing this issue. If they had nerfed it completely I would have dropped bonfire for sleet. I wouldn't have been upset, just annoyed at respecing.
This looks good, though they really need to buff Iceslick now, it needs 16 targets and maybe a minor damage effect. I like the idea of Iceslick doing little chunks of damage each time someone falls down and hits their head. -
Why not just play what you want? We have numerous people saying TW is better, but you're trying to debunk that somehow.
Pick it or Ditch It. -
I can stop this here with the following:
Titan Weapon's can take both Heel Proc and Glad Proc, on top of Rend Armor that's a pre-resistance 57.5% Damage Resistance Debuff.
Heel Procs would go into Rend Armor and Crushing Blow.
Glad Proc into Arc of Destruction (Which is in your main rotation).
Also, by your same logic: RA will miss as often as KO Blow or Gloom will miss, and those two powers carry.
RA also isn't the power that carries TW. It's Follow Through >_> Which you can use twice in a period of Momentum with enough global recharge.
If you DO manage to miss RA, since RA is your OPENER, you just hit Crushing Blow. Sure, it hurts, but then you just hit Build Momentum when it's off cooldown and go back to your old rotation.
All things said: Misses hurt both sets equally, since SS relies on KO and Gloom to function just as much as TW relies on not missing it's opener to not derp it's chain and damage. -
Quote:I was almost positive we had it changed to 8 seconds on beta. Did it stay in at 15 seconds despite the beta version being 8? >_>think this is why the waterjet lock out should be at least reworked to something less extreme than 15 seconds. 15 seconds is a LOT of regen for an AV, especially the ones that have regen powers built in. Also people are saying regular blasters will out pace water in i24 (I know nothing about this but that people say it).
So skipping to what I do know: 15 seconds for a main stay combo for doing 1v1 damage, is way to harsh. I could live with a 5-8 second lock out, but in truth your really shoveling water against an ocean against any regen types when this is your go combo for 1v1 damage. -
Quote:Actually, smashing isn't that common. Those who resist it tend to be sub 22%, which Titan Weapons reduces through Rend Armor (And being able to utilize both -RES Procs).Whats the damage difference? I think you are forgetting one point. That TW chain is all smashing damage while the SS chain utilizes fire and NE.
A lot of mobs resist smashing, a lot less resist fire and Ne.
You have to factor in the fact... the enemy will probably be in negative resistance due to the procs TW can take. -
This was a debated thing in the past, and speculation put Titan Weapons at the top.
In the end, while I don't personally know the speed differences? Titan Weapons offers more AoE KD, and thus offers more mitigation. It also doesn't have to juggle Rage Crashes.
I think they're both very comparable, in the end, and comes down to personal flavour. -
Quote:Because clearly everyone power levels.Considering people already can get from 0-50 in 4 hours of an AE farm (using a 2xp booster), are we really worried about "other areas of the game" being broken by this proc?
In my use case, I run ITFs and itrials and maybe other TFs like STF or Reichsman, and it really isn't making that much of an impact. That's how I play at 50+. So yes, it wouldn't matter that much to me if it is reduced in power as it's not making a big impact on my play. But I am automatically against the "nerf it now" crowd. Precisely because you are not considering the cases where the proc is not "overpowered."
Just stick a target cap / to-hit check on the thing and be done.
It's your vehemence to nerf anything new and interesting into oblivion that I decry.
Minority pointing out the minority.
Also, I helped fix Bio ArmorThere's a difference between nerf and proper balance. It's people who don't understand the concept of balance, that cry "NERFHERDER".

Pssst! PSSSSSSSSSSST!!!
Show some love to Water Blast, Sonic Attack, and Dual Pistols prz. -
Quote:I have at least one friend, note the word "at least", who stopped playing their Fire Controller because they felt the proc was blatantly overpowered and actually ruined HER gaming experience.Personally, unless we get some 26th lvl troller or dom to tell us if this combo turned day into night, made the earth quakes, had posion arrows falling from the sky, and the pillers of Heaven shake... I still having problems believing this whole broken theory.
If fact, with Nethergoat appearing and talking about the smoke grenade... I can't help but be reminded about his and my discussion when they where talking about merging the markets and how I thought it would take away from the rpg angle of the game and he thought it would save redside. Turns out we were both wrong, since for most folks they don't even notice and at least on my server, redside is still just tumble weeds.
So lets see some evidences.... and not from your 50th, because with all the Incarnate stuff going, not sure its going to be a fair test.
And she normally loves breaking the game.
As for myself? I have a sub-50 Fire Controller and I laugh like an idiot when I use Bonfire.
Then I stopped playing it too because it was silly. -
Quote:I was not aware the 200+% Global Recharge for Perma Phantom Army was easier to obtain than a single +Recharge SO and a single easily acquired Proc in Bonfire to make it stackable. It's Perma at base value.Fair enough, but there are a lot of things that have changed like that over the years:
- Receiving 'full' travel powers at level 4 instead of level 14.
- Access to remote auctionhouse and vault as vet rewards.
- Reducing requirements to access Epic archetypes.
Heck, you could even argue that, by this definition, Enhancement Diversification is game-breaking. Except that, since these things were done with seeming deliberation, while the OF proc is presumed to be a bug, that the former don't count in this calculation.
That's really my main point -- the idea that this was 'unintended' despite having ostensibly been tested. Looking at the actual effects instead of just being overwhelmed with the visual of eight mobs flopping helplessly on the floor leads me to feel like this is just 'meh' in the cosmic scheme.
On a scale of 'game-breaking', I'd say perma-Phantom Army is still better than this -- permanent aggro-avoidance, plus enough damage to actually defeat the mobs that aren't attacking you. Plus you can start it earlier than Bonfire/OF. And nobody's calling for that to be nerfed.

Pauper
I was also not aware 200+% Recharge was not a multi-billion influence investment on anything not A: Time Control, B: Radiation, or C: Kinetics. And even for those, it will still spike a billion.
Yes. These two are completely comparable metrics. A power that is 'overpowered' at extreme IO levels vs. a power that breaks the game... with a single slot. And no other IOs beyond one anyone can get.
How do you logic?
In fact, let me ask this: If you don't see this as a problem, why do you care if it's removed or not?
Quote:Again, let's not get hyperbolic in your response -- if you don't actually have another power that can do significant damage to a +20, then using perma-KB to 'neutralize' it doesn't really help that much, since you don't get XP for just knocking down an enemy.
Quote:Amen brother. Voice of reason in a sea of hyperbole. Same thing on the itrials.
But I agree with an above poster: Because it doesn't work in two areas in the whole game, it's apparently fine.
The level of delight I get from you trying to protect the precious thing is immense. -
-
Quote:95% Chance to Hit in how often it goes off? Won't be a fix.Give Bonfire a smaller chance to hit. Remove the autohit!
That will prob be enough... then a few enemies will walk through it. Making it very dangerous to use for low level toons.
Or...
Make enemies flee from it and remove the KB in Bonfire completely... Make the effect closer to HotFeet.

Quote:"Potty Humor" has been stated to be a reportable and punishing offense.Yea, I will avoid playing with players who whine about humorous names because it reduces my enjoyment of the game.
Just because you like it, does not make it an acceptable thing in the Real World.
