And it looks like I'll have to settle for the laptop instead of a 2nd monitor for now. Believe it or not, one of the platters in my portable HDD actually shattered last week.
So I plan on getting two external HDDs Saturday. Overkill? Maybe, but I'd rather have too much HDD than not enough.

I'm basically sitting on the floor with one of those "as seen on tv" computer tables that has a built-in fan, fold out legs, and an LED goose-neck light. So if you wonder what I mean by numb-butt ingame, it has Nothing to do with my daily activities. ;-p

I move between the floor in front of the couch and sitting on the couch. I get uncomfortable easily due to back and leg pain so I'm changing position a LOT, so getting the laptop and setting up the "hub" was a god-send.

Personal use, I have an NAS-321 with two RAIDed drives. (Upper left on that desk.) Considering a bigger one. And some of that stuff's also backed up elsewhere.
It works nicely. Just imagine that there's a blue Razer Naga behind the back of the chair, there.

The room is the same as it was when I set it up a few years ago; just upgraded the PC to a Dell XPS 8100, and on the far right wall I have Mark Smylie's "Artesia: Adventures in the Known World" original painting, framed nicely (image is here).
Oh, and I moved the Poang IKEA chair from the corner to the baby's room for now 'til we're no longer bottlefeeding. ...dreading the milk stains on that one. Huzzah. ;P

My computer used to be on a huge heavy old desk that looked like it was from a bank. I had my computer, mini tv, xbox, huge old CRT monitor on it and my data server hidden on the side. I will have to find a picture of it. Right now all my stuff is in storage.
Cleaner now.
I wanted to post it earlier, but I had to work a lot this week and really didn't have time. External HDDs not shown, as I'm going to pick those up in a few hours.

lol, my setup is covered with cigarette ashes and empty energy drink cans...
I now have 2TBs worth of external HDD.
Just rebacking up everything now on one, and will copy content (video, pictures, digital comics) that I tend to use on the laptop and the PS3 on the other. I spent about $130 for both.
Why in the world did I not do this years ago?!

My setup is pretty old, but still super powerful! I've never managed to beat it in Chess when it's playing against me seriously. Sorry if pictures are a tad blurry.

I've tried using it while sitting on my tempurpedic, but it's too easy for the top-heavy laptop to attempt a swan-dive.

Same desk as a couple of others already. In our tiny box room it all but takes up half of it.
Uncharacteristically tidy as we had a major clean out yesterday so I'm not too ashamed to post a picture!
Man, I wish Paragon Studios would make CoH Eyefinity compatible.
