I miss my Saitek Eclipse II. (Toddler poured orange soda all over it, and the keys on the right side no longer work.) My replacement keyboard is also illuminated.....but all the battles I fought and won on the Eclipse II over the course of 5 years......

So. Um... mine might be a bit cluttered.

All these freakishly clean desks have me self-conscious.

Where did you get that PC case? I want one like it!

This is a poor image thanks to the limited options of a phone camera, but you get the idea. (Yeah, it's a little old school. But I likes it. )

What's to be ashamed of? That's a very nice setup. I particularly like how simple and clean you keep it, yet still have room for a sub-woofer and a guitar. Are you by chance learning to be able to play the CoH theme?

I'm learning Sunshine of your Love (the bridge is pretty difficult for me right now) and Barracuda (chorus gives me some problems.)
I'm also learning Puscifer's "Conditions of my Parole", but I haven't made the same progress on that just yet.

I'm self-conscious because, rather than spending my money on, say, tuition, I built a $800 rig and got about $300 of peripherals to go with it.

So you were learning a CoH theme: Barracuda, lackey of Captain Mako. Seriously though, it is awesome that you are pursuing music. Good luck on those pieces!

As for deciding where to spend money, that is a challenge for everyone I have ever met. Hope the choices you make are ones that lead to the greatest happiness for you, whatever that may be.

I bought it on Newegg a while back, I think they've discontinued that particular one. It's made by xClio, so you could probably find something similar by them.

Here's my space!

Textbooks from 8 or 9 years ago boost my monitors to ergonomic heights. My desktop background rotates through commissions I've had done over on deviantART.

I have my little map of the Rogue Isles right above my monitor, and the /em invent cube that Layla made me close at hand. When you squeeze it, it glows!

Also nearby are personal grooming supplies. I often do my nails or floss while while waiting for trials to form. Vitamins, too. Gotta stay Strong & Pretty, yannow.

That really is a nice looking Inventing cube.

I love the manilla envelope-looking mousepad. It makes my day.

Uncharacteristically tidy as we had a major clean out yesterday so I'm not too ashamed to post a picture!

Man, I wish Paragon Studios would make CoH Eyefinity compatible.
WOW!!!!!!! THAT DESK!!! You and ZWill have GOT to hook me up!! For now it looks like I'm going to have to cram my new system right next to my current one on the same desk. But...bet your bottom dollar...I'm on the lookout for a desk like yours!!!! Would be PERFECT for my gaming space/room.

LOL! I think most people get "comfortable" and do their gaming!!

Kind of glad you brought that up...I want all of you to know how very much I appreciate you all posting these. It takes a bit of guts to put yourself out there...(even though nobody really knows who you are).

Seeing some of these setups has given me a few ideas I'll be implementing (such as the desks I've commented on) and I'm sure others are getting ideas as well. The "cleanliness" or "tidiness" *if that's a word* doesn't matter to me!! Everyone's different and as far as everyone should be concerned, "live and let live!"

Looking forward to seeing what pops up next!

Thanks for the compliments on the cube! It'll be at the Player Summit, where I'll be squeezing it maniacally.

I am a mouse pad destroyer. I just slaughter the things, and I have no idea how. So I finally gave up, and now I tape a piece of paper to my desk and use it until I wear through it.

Erm...I mean...there are top secret documents in there.

Well. At least I know I'm not the only one with a messy desk now.

Yes, those are holiday themed beanie babies.

Yes, that is a Batman figure on the monitor.

Yes, that is a CoV mousepad.

Psi-do you have two completely separate systems or is it two monitors off the same computer?

Right one is the main computer monitor, and while the left is technically a monitor, I use it more for movies and entertainment :P

Not me. Looking at my picture up-thread again, I'll point out that I have two Costco workbenches as my computer tables, and use drafting chairs. That way I can either stand or sit. I also see the pic's a bit old, as I've replace the two 4:3 monitors with widescreens.

Like Hyperstrike, I have a rack in the corner with all the computers and networking equipment. The girlfriend's computers are on the left table. The old school computer table in the front is my work laptop, since I work at home too.

But man, you guys have some awesome computers! And Turgenev's combo computer/reading room is sweet.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

With the way the engine currently works that wouldn't be a very good idea at all.

Basically what happens now is that it renders at 4x3 resolution for whatever the width of the resolution is and simply crops the top and bottom.

Here's what my game looks like at 1920x1080 unzoomed.

Click on it for full size.

Now, this is going to break the formatting of the page but this is what it'd look like were you to stretch it with Eyefinity.

You'd have to play WAAAAY the hell zoomed out to see any sort of character detail whatsoever.

Yeah. Shipping alone would cost several times whatever the cost of the desk is. Those suckers are heavy duty (emphasis on "heavy").

They're currently reworking the site at the moment (should be up on Thursday).

You'd be VERY hard-pressed to destroy one of them. I've had one of their originals (what's the XT now) for roughly a decade. They're tough as hell.

The GS (a cheaper version made from injection-molded plastic) is roughly $15. The XT (which would be preferable) is $25.

Note: The newer ones are a little different than what I have now. The new versions are a bit less slick (but don't warp the way my original did). But if you take a little Pledge to the surface first thing, it's perfect.

Thanks, I'm fairly proud of my Man Cave. What you're not seeing are the multicolored lights framing the back wall that rotate through all the colors of the spectrum (thank you, IKEA). All I need is my lava lamp moved to my desk again and I'm set!
