  1. Well, I couldn't see too many drawbacks to it, aside from needing new tech and a ton of work to implement. But obviously that new tech could be used in numerous other things. At the same time, it could play like it's own AT within the MM AT.
  2. Yesterday I was wondering how a different type of Mastermind set could actually function to make it different from the other sets, and might allow players who find that AT to boring to perhaps enjoy it in a way.

Note that this would probably take a lot of work, and most likely new tech for the game.

The way this powerset would function is like this. The Mastermind would have summon abilities, much like any other mastermind set. However, when the player uses these abilities, it would add on to your avatar in some form. Think of mecha suits, mutational growth, etc.

So for example: A fully levelled MM using this powerset would consist of the MM (Which is the core), 3 minion level parts, 2 Lt. level parts, and 1 Boss part like every other MM powerset. Each piece would have the around the same amount of health as other MM pet sets. This would result in the same base health as other MM sets in total. Bodyguard mode could be used to make damage to the MM spread among other parts. Upgrades would upgrade said parts.

The difference for this is that your character would now have multiple "Hitboxes" and pieces of you can be destroyed. Each piece added would give you powers that you could use specific to that type of minion (or part). Additionally, many of these powers can be activated simultaneously just like how normal MM pets can all attack at once. Damage would be comparable to other MM set pets.

SO, for an example (Note that this is an example, and it wouldn't have to be technology based necessarily.) a MM using this sets uses all his/her summon powers, and is now a large mech robot with multiple types of weapons bristling from them. They can click both a flamethrower attack, and then a chaingun attack right after and both will be activated because each are on different parts (or "pets"). Enemies can be aggroed to each of these pieces individually and may attack them, perhaps destroying them if they don't have enough defense/resistance.

Anyways, this is a rough idea currently. I'll update it more soon. People are needing me back here currently. XD

Edit: This might also open the way for multi-hitbox bosses.

Why? Because it can be made into a hero and villain zone, with each faction trying to rebuild/destroy/take over the area using the new phasing tech.

PvP without the PvP. Heroes and Villains wouldn't fight each other, but missions and actions of heroes and villains in the zone can affect the appearance of Boomtown, maybe even what spawns where if they add contacts trying to vie for power in this section of the city. Maybe Hero Corps wants to help rebuild and add a new headquarters there, maybe the 5th Column or the Council are willing to make a deal with a supervillain for a decisive victory (which would be the next stage in their conflict's story). Really let things get crazy in there with the new tech.

Even though it's been remodeled already, I'd like to see this hero/villain approach applied to Faultline too, since Arachnos and the Sky Raiders already have a passageway/foothold on the north part of it. I'd like them to add it as a new zone for villainous activity in Paragon in the mid-levels. Not to the same extreme as using the phasing tech or having one side affect the other in any meaningful way, but at least let villains access it from the north side, and do some missions there as well.

But then, I'd like to see Heroes (or at least Vigilantes) helping the Legacy Chain, Wyvern, and Longbow bring justice to the Rogue Isles as well, so what do I know?

Basically zones where heroes and villains can both work in, but not like the RWZ or DA where they 'cooperate' for the greater good.
Wow. I was thinking about stuff like that today too. I started a thread on the subject, not sure if you already did though.
  4. I look at Recluses Victory and see how the zone changes depending on who has control, and now I look at the new tech that they've been using which allows the zone to change for each hero depending on how "they shape the world".

My question is, do you think it'd be cool to have a zone(s) introduced that allowed both heroes and villains in the zone were they can't attack eachother. However, there are missions given in the zone to each side which affects how the zone is. For example... maybe a villain player is given a mission to set a building on fire. After doing so, the heroes could recieve a mission to put the fire out. A very brief example that could probably be expanded on A LOT, and have deeper things to do.

Maybe Heroes and Villains would get some sort of small benefit for controlling the zone.

What do you guys think? Could the idea be expanded upon?
  5. I was just wondering if their damage caps at 400% for their pets?

To be fair, that's like asking how the 4 legged rig brought anything to gameplay.

Not like they are making an entire AT that revolves around the 4 legged rig... oh wait, they are. XD

Now now, those Vanguard Heavies get through doors just fine too! They must use molecular restructing or something! :P
  8. My setup is pretty old, but still super powerful! I've never managed to beat it in Chess when it's playing against me seriously. Sorry if pictures are a tad blurry.

    Picture of the entire computer.

    Close up shot.

...sorry guys, someone had to do it. Lol. :P
  9. I know it'd take a crapload of work to do, but do you think it could be possible/awesome? I mean an AT that uses various vehicles for their powers? Drive a small tank/motorcycle/etc. Maybe your powers would add on bits and pieces to the item used. A swarm missile type attack would add on a visible missile rack to the vehicle for example.

On the other hand, that means vehicles could be added to the game for various reasons such as for travel powers, and maybe even things like pilotable mechs. Maybe you'd be able to enter and exit the vehicle, allowing any AT to use it?
  10. I feel a little sorry for Recluse. I mean... you have Portal Corp going to ALL these other dimensions, and not in a single one of them has Recluse apparently taken over the world. Hell, the Clockwork King managed to do so, but Lord Recluse? Naaaaa. In fact, even his Praetorian version was slaughtered at the Well of Furies by Cole.

I wonder if he EVER managed to succeed in any alternate dimension. I find that most of the Dimensions are populated by alternate versions of Cole. Trolololol. I'm looking at you Tyrant and Reichsman.
  11. Hoping for Malta lore pets. Definitely want a Zeus class titan for my boss pet. XD
  12. I know that there's all this different universes in the City of Heroes game. Such as Praetoria, and the 5th Column Universe where the Reichmann (Isn't Reichmann also a counterpart to Statesman kind of like Cole?), etc.

Now... is there any universe where Lord Recluse actually succeeded in taking over the world or anything like that? Has he really failed so much that not even an alternate version of him as succeeded? (He's even dead in Praetoria, lol.)

Also... who would win one on one?

    Tyrant or Reichmann?
    Reichmann or Statesman?
    Tyrant or Statesman?

    Lol. XD
  13. I guess the closest that they have currently are Demons. Still, that's not quite something that grabs my attention. I kind of wish the devs created a power set for Masterminds that was just way out there! Something totally new and different. I suppose kind of like an Epic Archetype kind of Mastermind where the pets are totally made up... like Kheldian made up. Something we couldn't classify.

After seeing the new monsters and stuff coming up in the next issue, it made me wish once again that at some point we get a Mastermind power set with creatures that look totally twisted and can't be placed in a category like Mercenaries/Ninjas/Demons, etc. Something crazy that needs it's own name. Anyone else get what I'm saying? XD Maybe even a special type of mastermind that can customize their pets appearances somewhat.
  14. You know what... I really wish we had a Mastermind set with pets that looked like that. Something completely out there. Demons are demons, robots are robots, etc....

But giant killer undead looking magical bug monsters? How I wish I could be a Mastermind that summoned those.
  15. I've written a novel. It is going to be sent in to get published, alas I can write but I can't draw for the life of me. None of the Publisher stock images strike me as one that I'd like. So I need your help.

If you can draw me a picture for the cover of my novel that I'm satisfied with, I will be sure to give credit where it is due. Your name will be placed on the front of it stating you were the one that illustrated it.

I've had an idea that I've been hoping for. It's a picture of one of the main characters in my book. The superhero who can manipulate the very essence of darkness.

He dresses in all black clothing, no skin can be seen. He wears a hate, which is much like the Renegade hat here in City of Heroes.

He wears a pair of goggles that cover up his eyes and a scarf around the remainder of his face to conceal it.

He wears a duster coat over a black shirt and has a black belt along with black cargo pants.

He wears heavy black boots to finish off his clothing.

I'll try to get as close as I can using the character creator in City of Heroes to see if I can get an example of what he may look like.

Note: The white aura from his eyes would actually be black matter representing his power, I just made it white to make it easier to see.

My dream picture for the cover, is the hero standing with his back to the reader and looking over his shoulder without his goggles on... but instead of being able to see eyes/skin, etc... all you see is black matter seeping out from the open space. There's doesn't need to be much of a background, maybe a lighter shade of dark so you can make out the character but it's still a bit ominous?

I know I'm asking a lot, and I could very well maybe set up a payment option for discussion if someone is interested.

Anyhow, here's to hoping if someone has the time to draw me up a picture! Enjoy your day everyone!
  16. I'd really, really like Ripper to in the Spines powerset not to do a flip, just something that looks like it -really- rips into them. XD
  17. I just want to know more about the Mecha Powerset, or the ideas that have been thrown around for it.

    Mmyes....
  18. You may disagree with me, but with all the crap someone would have to go through, whether with a secret identity or not. If they had super Powers, I actually think there would end up being many more super Villains then Super Heroes.

After so much crap, a Hero might eventually give up, or turn to some other path. With great power, comes great responsibility and all that jazz. One to many times though, it's been shown that once a single individual gains so much power, it tends to go to their heads.

So I think Villains would outnumber the Heroes at the least.
  19. I can't believe I didn't really think about it this entire time.

I made yet another new toon, and was running around, putting the smackdown on the seemingly endless supply of Hellions when I saw it... the AD on one of the buildings.

"Chillin' Villains Bail Bonds. Heroes put 'em in. We pull 'em out!"

WHAT?!? So who are the real villains here? IT MUST ALL BE A NEMESIS PLOT!

It must also explain why the Hellions have still not dissappeared completely after more then 5 years, no?
  20. I admit, I do like RPing a bit. XD
  21. Title says it all, anyone mind telling me which has the most PvP? Arena/Zone, or both, or whatever.
  22. But, but... -points at Join Date 2005.- I coulda sworn it was way back then. XD
  23. Well, I remember, back... waaaaaayyyy back, I can't remember how far exactly, but, there was a dev that stated they had originally planned an entire AT around a Mech-suit, but they had too many problems with it or something. I wish I could find where the statement went. XD

Well, that's the thing, it's primary/second... it wouldn't really have those. Sure there would still be two types of deals but there would be a whole lot of sets to choose from, such as defensive sets, weapon sets, etc, etc, and they could be expanded on by branching out over each part.

I suppose it'd be better to make it a seperate AT in it's own, much like the Epics. That way, all the power choices for it would be in that spot. Then while playing, you choose set A for part B, then you are presented with two new branching sets for part B that relate to power set A.
  24. For me, I've heard that they had wanted to add some sort of Mech AT at one point or another. Well, here's my dream powerset/AT right there, a mech absed one.

Here's some of my ideas for it: Although, the coding probably wouldn't work, or at least be very very hard.

I know they've been experimenting with different things, such as swapping ammo, the dual blades getting the combo type deal, etc.

Well, this Mecha AT would be a single large entity, but it would have different branching sets, much like the Arachnos Epic AT's.

The difference is, however, that the sets correspond with a different part of the unit. For example, one set might add a mounted chaingun somewhere, and then build off of that, while another set would add something somewhere else.

Now for the major coding issue type stuff. I'd like to see it be able to use more then one attack. Since it's different sets, each set can act on it's own somewhat. So, if you had that Chaingun set, and then had some type of energy cannon which was a seperate set. Then they could -act- seperately.

For example, the chaingun is placed on the back, since you selected it as a back set. The energy cannon is an arm set, since you choose that. Now, when you say to attack with the minigun, it rolls up from you back and starts to fire, but at the same time you can tell the energy cannon on the arm to fire, and so it also attacks with the energy cannon while firing with the chaingun.

As for it's final "Nuke" power. I can think of a couple of cool ideas. One would be where all the weapons that you placed on the mecha are activated at once, and fires in a mass blowout of carnage in the direction it was pointed at.

Anyhow, with the set idea, I think it'd be nice. The mecha's would all be different due to how a person chose to "construct" it. =P

    Any other ideas?

Put your idea's and also, if you have your own powerset in mind feel free to share it. ^_^
