Cannot find the ideas section, so I'll ask about Dream Sets here. XD
Sounds like a sort of set of a combination of weapons, although it sounds like you're wanting more of a customizable costume to go with it for weapon placement. Instead of having a part correspond to a weapon, why not the other way around. You choose the certain weapons you want then choose where you want them to go.
Second using two powers at once would justify either a new mechanic change, like a new inherent or something for how long each weapon can fire. Or have them be click powers that last a certain duration then cease or toggles that drain the inherent faster per however many attacks you have up. The inherent would be like a fuel source, but this is all just conjecture.
If this is your dream sort of AT what about the secondary? I know that sounds general you just didn't put anything out there, is that like it's protective gear? because you could get just as customizable with that.
All in all you could almost make a whole new game based off playing that one AT in fact it sounds like MechWarrior except in CoH. Not that I don't think it's a fascinating idea. It just doesn't seem popular enough or simple enough to devise. Or maybe it is a really popular idea and I just don't know
In the Grand scheme of things people don't know when to shut up.

Well, I remember, back... waaaaaayyyy back, I can't remember how far exactly, but, there was a dev that stated they had originally planned an entire AT around a Mech-suit, but they had too many problems with it or something. I wish I could find where the statement went. XD
Well, that's the thing, it's primary/second... it wouldn't really have those. Sure there would still be two types of deals but there would be a whole lot of sets to choose from, such as defensive sets, weapon sets, etc, etc, and they could be expanded on by branching out over each part.
I suppose it'd be better to make it a seperate AT in it's own, much like the Epics. That way, all the power choices for it would be in that spot. Then while playing, you choose set A for part B, then you are presented with two new branching sets for part B that relate to power set A.

Personally I think you might be playing the wrong game. Or you've recently been playing the other...
But, but... -points at Join Date 2005.- I coulda sworn it was way back then. XD

You're talking about toggle attacks, basically?
To boil it down and abstract it away from the mech-suit concept.
As in, you select a target, activate the toggle, and the attack then ticks away at the target like a ranged single targettted version of Blazing Aura or Lightning Field?
What happens when you change targets? Would that deactivate the toggle?
That sounds very do-able. Telekinesis from Mind Control does something very similar to this, a targetted toggle hold/repel attack.
The mech-suit side of it doesn't really float my boat, but I do like the idea of toggle attacks.
I did like the Maintained/Charged attacks idea in Champions. I never played Power Armor so I dont know how the simultaneous toggle powers felt.
I liked the *Cough* Online implementation of power armor. It was fun. I don't know if it's easily importable into this game, or if it's something this engine can handle, or if it can be easily made to work with other parts of the game (Granite Armor has caused a tremendous amount of headaches with new powersets, for instance) but I'd totally build a FF/MechaWeapon defender.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
It think it could work if it was implemeted as an epic power pool, not a whole new AT. That way, the devs only have to implement, at most, five different powers.

Enemy targetted toggles are already there.
We just don't have one that does damage yet, discounting sticking a proc in Telekinesis or Rad Infection, but that should be easy to plug in ot the current spreadsheets.
We dont have one that draws a beam from the player to the target, or that breaks with line of sight loss as well as range. This could require new code.
We have weapons that appear/draw on activation of a click attack, eg Assault Rifle. Do we have toggles that cause an extra graphical element to appear on the character? Stone Armour covers that I guess. While the toggle is active, the extra elements get drawn on and move with the character's attachment points as they animate.
So I think all the raw code components already exist in some basic form.
I'm not sure how a continuous chest beam, for example, is supposed to work if ytou turn away from the target so your back's to them. Did Champions force you to face them and strafe while the beam was active? That might be new tech for CoH
Shield Defense toggles allow a customizable costume piece to be displayed/hidden. And the Vanguard shield even has a costume piece that is modified by the activation of a toggle
i'd really like a large two handed sword set, also a polearms set.

For me, I've heard that they had wanted to add some sort of Mech AT at one point or another. Well, here's my dream powerset/AT right there, a mech absed one.
Here's some of my ideas for it: Although, the coding probably wouldn't work, or at least be very very hard.
I know they've been experimenting with different things, such as swapping ammo, the dual blades getting the combo type deal, etc.
Well, this Mecha AT would be a single large entity, but it would have different branching sets, much like the Arachnos Epic AT's.
The difference is, however, that the sets correspond with a different part of the unit. For example, one set might add a mounted chaingun somewhere, and then build off of that, while another set would add something somewhere else.
Now for the major coding issue type stuff. I'd like to see it be able to use more then one attack. Since it's different sets, each set can act on it's own somewhat. So, if you had that Chaingun set, and then had some type of energy cannon which was a seperate set. Then they could -act- seperately.
For example, the chaingun is placed on the back, since you selected it as a back set. The energy cannon is an arm set, since you choose that. Now, when you say to attack with the minigun, it rolls up from you back and starts to fire, but at the same time you can tell the energy cannon on the arm to fire, and so it also attacks with the energy cannon while firing with the chaingun.
As for it's final "Nuke" power. I can think of a couple of cool ideas. One would be where all the weapons that you placed on the mecha are activated at once, and fires in a mass blowout of carnage in the direction it was pointed at.
Anyhow, with the set idea, I think it'd be nice. The mecha's would all be different due to how a person chose to "construct" it. =P
Any other ideas?
Put your idea's and also, if you have your own powerset in mind feel free to share it. ^_^
