just a reference, there's probably better ones to look at though -
I enjoy a bit of light RP. Not a heavy RP'er I'm afraid, but my characters just seem to come alive of their own accord some times...
Anyway onto the point - I've found the best way to engage yourself in a group, much like real life, is to look for situations where random people are thrown together.
Costume contests or events are a good example, especially the former as everyone is there wearing their concepts on their sleeves as it were.
Its much easier to strike up a conversation in a situation where a varied set of people gather. This way you'll also avoid treading on any toes in regards to butting into a an established storyline.
Anyway like it's been said above, don't let one bad experience deter you. Also take a look at the virtue server forum for SG's, or put up a post there asking for one. Could always check VirtueVerse though certain sections are pretty out of date. -
Ha! I love it, great stuff. I won't add to your already heavy load - But keep up the good work.
-
Just comparing this to several other forums I visit. CoX has (by a large margin) the highest amount of RL commission work. YMMV as always, then again I have been inactive for a year - Who knows? It may have changed.
-
Quote:This counts as a lot of work? I know people here are obsessed with commissions, and no disrespect to Thirty-Seven, but this isn't a painstaking week long commission.I would like to note you are kinda of asking for a good bit of work from people, matbe if you offered up financial compensation you might get better results, just a thought
Anyway loving the logo, really captured the style. -

Use the boost... Sorry couldn't resist. But at least I had SOME restraint
-
As mentioned in game I'll happily pump some bullets into the ooze. Assuming you have room for a soldier ofc.
-
Tried to catch you in game but didn't get the chance. Anyway I'd like to submit my soldier again if you have any room for little ol'him. I know he's not uber debuffer or anything, but every little help right?
Anyway @Soul-journ if you want him -
Ok I get that it's very annoying, but is it really worth shelfing a character for 4 days?
-
I'm confused what the problem is...?
I mean I get what's happening, but where's the actual problem? -
"Windmills do not work that way!"
Has become a standard reply of mine whenever someone trys to go around thr system. Sadly it only leads to confusion -
Sharkhead. Sharkhead, Sharkhead, Sharkhead.
I'd agree that St. M is bland and pretty much a failure. But if I was to allocate resources I would trying to make a good area amazing rather than trying to up a poor one.
I do love sharkhead, sure a lot of the looks are generic redside - But what really makes it apt for a Gr style makeover is the factions. Sharkhead has such interesting factions, especially considering it's bookended by Cap and Nerva.
You have the Cage (by far my fave group) who are basically oppressing the Scrapyarders. The cage is a wonderful faceless corporation. They are one of the few factions I think should be left bland, they scream corporate giant far more than Crey to me.
The scrapyarder's on the other hand could use a spotlight on them, they have some interesting character in their arcs - All sorts of rogue/vigilante types that could be used for interesting moral choices.
Lets not forget while this is going on the land the Cage is trying to mine is used by the Circle for rituals, adding another competitor to the pot.
But far below that there are other creatures lurking and the mining activity is not exactly making them happy either. But after a hard days work where do you go?
Why back to your slum-like apartments, or perhaps an illegal gambling den run by the Family?
The whole place is a power keg ready to go bang when you think about it. When I think of a villainous city, it's pretty much falls into two categories - The 1984 Praetorian type, or the work-till-you-drop, crime filled, opressive dumps like Sharkhead.
As for visuals, I'd hate to bring it up - But ever played simcity societies? I know, I know, not the best game. But the industrial theme there is how I envision sharkhead. It's a sort of redbrick area from the past. Where the men are 90% steel workers whole enjoy a beer after a hard day and the women are at home trying to raise families on a shoestring.
Where pollution fills the sky and men get killed for their below minimum paycheck.
Ahhh...how I love sharkhead...
Actually looking back on this post it has an awful lot in common with Praetoria, the oppressive cage and the rebel scrapyarders. It's practically Prae without the pretence of utopia. -
Welcome, Welcome!
Glad to see you got it sorted out - I guess you've already been introduced to all the channels you need heh.
Anyway, hope to see you in game some time. -
It's times like this I honestly wonder why the EU forums are under the tile of "For Fun!".
All I can do is wish you luck mate, and hopefuly see you over here one day. -
Kinda of sad about the PPD stuff - It's nice but it doesn't actually match the PPD that much. For example I would love to have the long shoulder-pads 90% of them are wearing.
Sort of annoyed you can't even combine the current pads with trenchcoats.... Those PPD investigators look damn awesome. Speaking of tranchcoats - Are you sure theres an overguard one? Can't find it myself. -
Quote:I used to work in a small computer repair shop a few years ago (this is going somewhere). Being a small family run sort of place we always got a lot of spam calls about expanding out business etc. Over time the character of "James Marston" appeared. This man didn't exist, but yet he did so much for us:The subtitle of this forum gets more and more bitterly ironic with every announcement, doesn't it?
I'm sure Av, War Witch or Black Pebble will be along in a couple of days to tell us any concerns have been "passed along" to whomever or whatever they all report to (/dev/null I'm guessing)
"I'm sorry you'll have to speak to Jame, he's not here at the moment"
"You want to speak to Mr. Marston? I'm afraid he's in a meeting"
After a while I finished work there and I always wondered what happened to James. Apparently he got a job managing the Dev team. -
All I'm hearing is this
It's gotten old now, please don't even bother to post here dev's unless you actually put some thought into your posts beyond "Generic statement to keep them happy".
I know some of you really do try, but every post like this is almost as insulting as not getting an answer. I feel no sincerity in the "We are looking for solutions" or "We'll pass your concerns on" -
a simple question a aember of my supergroup just asked, but it baffled us:
Do void hunters and like spawn in AE? Will they be mixed in with whatever groups you are facing during AE missions?
All help appreciated. -
I demand more Esc

Quote:Oh god I forgot about the VEATS....and with the new expanded amount for AoE buffs....Defense, and I am thinking of Night Widows making Demons just plain sick and wrong. Traps corruptors would fill the bill, too. Stacking masterminds is the classic approach.
It's going to be messy -
Cross server teaming has been hinted at by WW over on the EU servers (read: mentioned in passive and heavily read into).
If this is (and I think we all hope it is) that then its a good step, but cross server list teaming. Thats where the real money is.
Pure speculation as per usual. -
Done. As a random point the age selections include 12 twice, just as a note for when you compile the data. Good luck with it.
