New Praetorian Clockwork

The Male Model has most of the parts under the Costume Set Clockwork. While the Female and Huge models do indeed have all the bits, they don't have a Clockwork 'Set' yet in the Set pull-down menu.

There are: big shoulder pads and small; with Chest piece or without; gloves and legs come with and without pads; Male and huge have 6 faces, female has 7.

The parts work VERY well with other costumes -- especially cyborg, robot, tech, and armor pieces, as well as normal human models which is what the bottom pic below is supposed to demonstrate.

Probably going to use the new messy hair. Going to start using Res3 goggles on at least one toon. I like the PP shoulder and the new sport boots. Can see myself using some of the other pieces too.

These aren't widely available in Closed Beta. They leaked ahead of time. They are the Alpha and Omega Costume sets available from the Complete Edition or the GR:Item Pack.

There might still be some gems hidden here and there. For exemple, under Hats, Resistance has the WW2 style aviator hat. The one that the Gyro Captain is wearing in Mad Max 2: Road Warrior.

I didn't check every costume piece... but do we know for sure what parts the Syndicate overlays are available on? So far, I've only found the Dragon on the back of the Baron Coat and the stripes on the regular pants. Doesn't seem to be available for tights.

Thanks Z-man, these look great.

I'm gonna need about 30 more costume slots... per character.

These have, sadly, been changed. Resistance Goggles 1 has been removed.

Resistance Goggles 2 is now named Resistance Goggles, and Resistance Goggles 3 is now named Resistance Goggles Up.

I really hope they bring the first one back, because it kicks much ***.

I believe you can get it on Motorcycle jackets. Not sure if it's currently intended, but you can actually use that overlay in the live version of the game on motorcycle jackets. Found it the other day when working on my Blaster's costume.

What do you want? You have some of the best costumes and screenshots out there. Sucks to be you.

Most of these costume pieces are very nice. I especially like the new hairs! And the goggles. We've been needing some decent ones for a while. However, it would be nice to see something new for us magicky, non-techy people too. For those of us girls who don't want to look like streetwalkers, the magic booster is kind of..lacking I suppose, and not everyone is into super high tech/robotic characters.

Praetoria has a noticable lack of magic in it, so it kinda makes sense that there wouldn't be a whole lot of new magic costume options (for this expansion).

Yeah, I can see that I suppose, but it would still be nice. Ah well. I'll just have to keep crossing my fingers for the future.

Oh, I agree completely. But on the other hand...

Once I got over the shock of nothing magic-related (and only 2 female/1 male hairstyles!?!?!?), I started looking at parts individually. Key costume pieces here and there blend quite nicely with more natural or magic looks. Police pants, Resistance boots, the sport set somewhat. The new hairstyles are beautiful, and the whole Omega set from the complete edition/pack looks promising. I've even found the sport and overguard shoulders work better than I initially thought, at least for the Medieval armor-type looks I was working on at the time.

There are pieces there that can definitely be used by non-techie folks, they're just not whole sets. But if you can look through the forest and see the trees (to mangle a metaphor), you can find more usable than might initially be apparent.

The dearth of new hairstyles still bugs me, though.

My toons are all sooooooooooooo magic-based that Praetoria feels weird to me. Magic doesn't seem to really be a part of this universe, from what I can tell (admittedly, I didn't do all the arcs, saving some to do next week on live), and that absence appears to be deliberate. Do any Praetorian foes drop magic enhancements?

Hopefully future updates (the incarnates update, perhaps) will explain what's up with Magic in Praetoria, and at that time I HOPE we'll get new magic parts to use. But if the next costumes we get are even yet still more highly-detailed metallic armor set, I think I'll scream... well, all I'll probably do is ragepost again, but you get the idea.

Bah, female characters get two new hairstyles, one of which kicks ***, and all male characters get is another mohawk? Figures <_<
This game desperately needs new hairstyles. Even the CoV stuff is pretty mediocre and dated.

Thank you for describing everything I was about to say in regards to this. While I am surprised that new costume items are appearing with this update (and that's definitely a good thing), I am like you, rather sad about the deletion of magic. This seems to be a theme across comicdom as well; a testament to how virulently the cult of technology (so-called science) has come to rule people's lives and dreams. Alas...

Isn't Tyrant considered magic?

Maybe magic isn't as prevalent in Praetoria because he's tried hoarding it all.

The hints we've gotten so far is that magic in Praetoria is being "tightly controlled." I think it was mentioned in either Maria or Tina's revamped arcs. I'm guessing it's a story that's yet to be told.

On the Resistance sets, I don't like the pipe like thing on the Shoulders. But I thought everything else was great.

I wouldn't say I'm sad, so much as intrigued. It doesn't feel like magic was deleted so much as it's just missing. There are story possibilites in that. Like I said, I've not done a huge number of the new arcs, so more could be explained than I know already.

Can't direct you to the pics of the Alpha or Omega auras, but I can tell you this: ALL the auras already in game will now also have a "combat aura" option. That's pretty awesome, actually.

From Zombie Man's guide:

That's just Tyrant's dictatorship though - he seems to want magic to be very suppressed and controlled for some reason.
In the normal part of the game, magic is alive and kicking

Thanks for posting those shots!

I'm appreciating the wider selection of close-fitting shoulderpads. I've always disliked the overuse of gigantic pads, particularly those that are so far from the shoulders as to seemingly offer no real protection.

I don't know if there's a way to find this out before release, but (other than alpha and Omega, which are part of the Complete Collection) do we know which of the new sets are part of i18, and which are part of Going Rogue?

I won't be buying GR for about a month after release, so I'm curious which (if any) I'll have access to on Tuesday.

I thought the Alpha and Omega parts were from the $6.99 Alpha and Omega booster pack.
