Athlete's foot
Athlete's foot (also known as ringworm of the foot and tinea pedis[1]) is a fungal infection of the skin that causes scaling, flaking, and itch of affected areas. It is caused by fungi in the genus Trichophyton and is typically transmitted in moist areas where people walk barefoot, such as showers or bathhouses, however in order to incubate it requires the foot to remain moist and so is only seen in approximately 0.75% of habitually (always) barefoot people . Although the condition typically affects the feet, it can infect or spread to other areas of the body, including the groin, particularly areas of skin that are kept hot and moist, such as with insulation, body heat, and sweat in a shoe, for long periods of time. While the fungus is generally picked up through walking barefoot in an infected area or using an infected towel, infection can be prevented by remaining barefoot as this allows the feet to dry properly and removes the fungus' primary incubator - the warm moist interior of a shoe. Athlete's foot can be treated by a number of pharmaceuticals (including creams) and other treatments.
Signs and symptoms
Athlete's foot causes scaling, flaking, and itching of the affected skin. Blisters and cracked skin may also occur, leading to exposed raw tissue, pain, swelling, and inflammation. Secondary bacterial infection can accompany the fungal infection, sometimes requiring a course of oral antibiotics.
The infection can be spread to other areas of the body, such as the groin, and usually is called by a different name once it spreads, such as tinea corporis on the body or limbs and tinea cruris (jock itch or dhobi itch) for an infection of the groin. Tinea pedis most often manifests between the toes, with the space between the fourth and fifth digits most commonly afflicted.
Some individuals may experience an allergic response to the fungus called an "id reaction" in which blisters or vesicles can appear in areas such as the hands, chest and arms. Treatment of the fungus usually results in resolution of the id reaction.
Diagnosis
Athlete's foot can usually be diagnosed by visual inspection of the skin, but where the diagnosis is in doubt direct microscopy of a potassium hydroxide preparation (known as a KOH test) may help rule out other possible causes, such as eczema or psoriasis. A KOH preparation is performed by taking skin scrapings which are covered with 10% to 20% potassium hydroxide applied to the microscope slide; after a few minutes the skin cells are degraded by the KOH and the characteristic fungal hyphae can then be seen microscopically, either with or without the assistance of a stain. The KOH preparation has an excellent positive predictive value, but occasionally false negative results may be obtained, especially if treatment with an antifungal medication has already begun.
If the above diagnoses are inconclusive or if a treatment regimen has already been started, a biopsy of the affected skin (i.e. a sample of the living skin tissue) can be taken for histological examination.
A Wood's lamp, although useful in diagnosing fungal infections of the scalp (tinea capitis), is not usually helpful in diagnosing tinea pedis, since the common dermatophytes that cause this disease do not fluoresce under ultraviolet light. However, it can be useful for determining if the disease is due to a nonfungal afflictor.
Transmission
From person to person Athlete's foot is a communicable disease caused by a parasitic fungus in the genus Trichophyton, either Trichophyton rubrum or Trichophyton mentagrophytes. It is typically transmitted in moist environments where people walk barefoot, such as showers, bath houses, and locker rooms. It can also be transmitted by sharing footwear with an infected person, or less commonly, by sharing towels with an infected person.
To other parts of the body The various parasitic fungi that cause athlete's foot can also cause skin infections on other areas of the body, most often under toenails (onychomycosis) or on the groin (tinea cruris).
Prevention
The fungi that cause athlete's foot can live on shower floors, wet towels, and footwear, and can spread from person to person from shared contact with showers, towels, etc.
Hygiene, therefore, plays an important role in managing an athlete's foot infection. Since fungi thrive in moist environm.....
...Wait, a minute. Are we not showing off our Wikipedia skills? -
Your "warning" brings more attention than the actual content of your post. I guess if you don't mind your warning derailing your own thread then go for it.
In your own posts you say that people are going to troll/harass/poke at you regardless, then why even have the warning? Your warning is really just a magnet. Curious to see how long of a novel you have for a response to this. -
Basically what the title says.
I know I'm not the only one that has looked back at their career in this game and think about all the things you've done. You maybe think of some of the crazy things you've done like those crazy scrapper tricks, Doms and their solo'ing of the GMs, Task Force solo'ing or just anything really. With a chance of this game coming to a close, what is your greatest accomplishment? And as a side bonus, what would you say your biggest regret if you had one.
For me, it was solo'ing the ITF on my DM/Inv scrapper with no deaths/inps/temp powers/Incarnate. Took me three hours because of I had to eat dinner in the middle of it, but I felt like a champ. I give props to Iggy K for inspiring me to do it.
My biggest regret for me is that after that I wanted take on the world so next up was solo'ing the STF. With my same toon I was going along with some speed bumps. I was eating inspirations like candy and taking my time. SO many deaths. I defeated the tree and grabbed the glowie. I had to log for the night for it was getting late. Next day I got to Dr. Aeon and I noticed I didn't have the glowie. Obviously, I had no idea that the glowie had a timer, therefor, killing all hope and sending me into a slight depression for a month. It still bothers me today.
I can think of so many other things, but these are the things I remember the most. What are yours, guys and gals? -
Now that classes have started back, gaming isn't a priority. But when I have some time to kill, I spend it on GW2. Very impressed with it so far. May not "supposed" to be playing that game but it is what it is.

Thanks for the heads up on the guidelines. If and when I make my goodbye thread I'll be sure to check your handy dandy rulebook. I'd hate to make people feel weird and cast aside because I didn't follow the rulebook. I'll just wait for your cue.

I gotta say considering how much this game mastered the chat system, it truly baffles me how much better it is than any other MMO I've played. Same games it's like night and day. And I'm not talking about one of those things where I don't like it because it's different, but because it simply doesn't work as well in other games. It really amazes me that it's 2012 and games still just don't get it down.
And I agree with the rest of your points, but just wanted to speak my piece on that particular point.
Gonna miss this!!! -
This is my current live build and I am extremely pleased by it. I was able to hit 231 DPS on a pylon and I don't know how to die while I'm playing this toon. Did an MoITF with her as well.

I didn't even think of that. I'll put that in and see what I can do. Thanks for the look over.
Oh and I like typing the boost because I'm calling it out to battle. -
Hey Bass, you mind taking a looksie at this build? I plan on respec'ing into it soon and would like your input and, well, anyone else really.
My F/C isn't softcapped more out of choice because it's good enough for me. It's what I am currently running with anyways and I don't feel the need to bump it.
It's not a lot of changes from my current build but will be noticeable. I'd like to squeeze out some more damage output without sacrificing much overall.
Currently, my damage isn't bad at all, but I would like to push this to around 220-225 DPS while maintaining the survivability.
Using the Cardiac Core Paragon

I read the patch notes and I still don't fully have it memorized what all the colors mean. -
By no means is it a deal breaker, but it can be a thorn sometimes.
Carnies just be a little careful, pop some purples, rely on the team a little more, keep Dull Pain ready are all ways to survive. Arachnos just make sure the first things you fight and kill are the Psi ones and you will be fine.
I found DM to be a fantastic pairing, but Invul is so strong in its own right that it doesn't really matter. -
...When you are faced with a tough situation you think to yourself, "what would insert your character name here do?"
-
...you are out with your friends and you think about what cool Supergroup names you and your buds can form.
...when you consider your job just a place for you to farm for money...5 days a week...for 8 hours straight...
...when you enter in an elevator with people and before going up in levels you tell everyone, "perma grats to you all." -
-
When you are running with your buddies and you stop for and announce for an end break.
When you are waiting tables on a Friday night and a table tips on top of the gratuity amount and one can't help think it must be Double XP weekend.
When you are at a club and you see a group of girls you wish you had a Snipe so you can just pull the one you want.
