Since I don't have much experience with melee builds in general, I figured I would ask for help in making this build better.
I'm trying to make an all around survivable scrapper, with the hope of making him capable of as many "stupid scrapper tricks" as possible.

edit: trying to stay away from purples and PVP IO's for monetary concerns altho it would give me something to work towards

I can't find any other ways to increase performance. I'm seeing that the build is capable of running MG > Smite > SL > Smite when hasten is up using the T3 or T4 spiritual alpha, but I'm not sure that if the endurance is sustainable. I'm also curious if there is a better way to slot Siphon Life...

Made some changes:

Smite, SL, and MG all take up less endurance.

S/L Res at 75.

Hasten has better up time.

Added some fun AoE with Fireball.

The biggest problem I see with your build jshmoe, is the final chance to hit for Smite and MG. Without Soul Drain, MG is at 56% and Smite is at 63% vs +4's. The minor issues are that I don't particularly want fire as my epic and that the top DPS chain has a gap. I can live with the second, even though I would have to fill with an AOE when hasten is down. The first issue is easily enough solved with a one for one swap to darkness mastery.

So you have no travel power?

Wouldn't do that myself.


Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind

I don't need one. I just grab a temp power and be on my merry way. The travel time in this game is next to nothing that I don't even notice it.

I haven't built characters with travel powers in a very very long time. If they are in the build, it is for set bonus. I just haven't missed them at all with Inherent Fitness + Ninja Run/Beast Run. There's no content that needs the travel powers and you can even buy a jetpack for an extremely trivial amount.

I'd only recommend travel powers for theme or if you simply enjoy using them. Otherwise the extra power pick(s) and power slot(s) can help your build out that much more.

Yeah. Ever since Ninja Run came out, I haven't taken a travel power on any character (Outside of being forced to with Kheldians) unless I completely ran out of useful unslotted powers to take which has been level 49 on about 1/3 of my characters and that's it. I don't even miss them and still manage to beat around half my travel power taking teammates to mission doors.

Just curious but why are you using +4's are your example? Unless you plan on running against +4's in everything you do in this game it's kind of pointless to use that as your measuring stick.

Until my 2 level 50's got their level shift alphas, they frequently fought +4's on teams. It is still common that on a team the only to-hit buff I see running is my own tactics, so I don't want to rely on possibly nonexistent buffs to reliably hit things.

And as Dark Healer him (her?)-self mentioned that they want build "with the hope of making him capable of as many "stupid scrapper tricks" as possible" accuracy versus +4's is a very valid measuring stick.
