Like Jayboh, I also agree that this is a fair price scale. Heck, add 50-100 PP because the Leprechaun actually has a buff and the others are purely cosmetic and I'll still be able to nod and think that's remotely fair.

I disagree with Jayboh that the Flying Disc power is ridiculously overpriced. I'd be willing to pay that much, if I could afford it, because I think it's kind of fun (unfortunately I can't justify spending that much money for the level of entertainment value it provides at my current level of underemployment)... Though I do think the Flying Disc power would be better priced at 160 or even 200 PP.

^This

Even though I was like *eyeroll* "purchase this item" while I was on my mini Paragon Market spree. 160-200 would be the best range for this type of power. But I am serious I really would like to see some uniformity with the pricing as well, just makes sense and it would prevent threads like this bashing priced merchandise, when we already would know what to expect.

I'm not, and I never will. There are too many things that are more entertaining for me to spend my points on. If they cut the price in half on the enhancement trays, I might consider it.

Because there are things I'd spend 800 points on. There aren't many that would get me to exceed my monthly "allowance," but they're out there. The leprechaun ain't one of 'em, though.

I've given up trying to understand the pricing model, and guess my points will continue accruing until there are sales on some of the more recent costume sets, or they release a new round of super packs.
The pricing model is you'll pay what we want you to pay and like it now get off my lawn.

I realized they were not going to put the extra trays and storage items on sale when I bought them and found out just how useful the extra room can be.

This is Paragon WINNING!

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Its no fun unless its also on fire.

Well, I'm ashamed to admit it but I would have bought this IF they hadn't killed my desire for collecting all the pets with how ridiculously hard they made getting the black wolf within the Super Packs. Needless to say, I don't have that and so I'm certainly NOT buying this! And everyone here is right, 800 points is waaaaaaaay too expensive for something like this. Two hundred points max is what it should have been (limited-time only or not).

This. This hybrid model has little thats micro in it.

800 is way too much.

I really hope this isn't the price for all future buff pets.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Pretty much my reaction too. Going to save my points since the same amount will bring a lot more visual and interactive satisfaction from Beast Mastery or Staff Fighting instead of a single, equally costly pet.

Really, I tried to talk myself into it. I have happily bought everything from the German Shepherd pet through the Halloween costume bundle to Coyote travel power plus even the Flying Disk and Firefighter Helmet package. But 400 PP is my preference, and 600 PP is my limit, for anything less than a full power set.

I would be very, very interested in hearing if this particular product, with its limited-time hook, sells as expected. I don't think marking would release numbers, but it would be nice to hear "Yes, we met our sales target." or "No, we didn't even get half of what we were aiming for."

Agreed. I would be sad to stop buying all future vanity and/or buff pets because this sets the trend.

I got this, for both accounts.

It was late, after 2am here. Now that I'm FULLY awake, I have to wonder why I did it. There's no way this thing is worth it.

Fools, money, and so on, I know... No more buying things when I'm only half awake.

Next up: a Fairy Nurse pet with a magical band-aid buff that reduces debt. Or perhaps that should be a Miniature Demonic Lawyer with a Chapter 11 buff.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

I am a VIP, I have loads of Paragon Points that I don't need, after already getting everything I needed/wanted from the market. I could buy this pet at 3x it's price without batting an eye, and I STILL won't buy it. Is it racially insensitive? Don't know, don't care. Is it killable? Don't know, don't care. Is the buff worth having? No, and I still don't care. What I DO care about is NCSoft thinking that

A.) This was a good price point. Players will LOVE THIS!
B.) This is the item to drop on the market before 2xXP Weekend.

Todays market item was nothing more or less than an insult directed to every players intelligence.

Eh. It was a poor decision, but I really don't believe it was an intentional insult.

Way back when I ripped on that baby eating dog, that non combat pet, I gave a suggestion to paragon to make a non combat pet that would buff you in some way, apparently they were listening, to that end I am grateful, but the thing is there is this word to this day that seems to be escaping them. I don't know why. It's not a complicated or easily misunderstood thing. but they keep. missing. the. point. Evidence is present for almost all the packs they have been releasing trying to get people to burn through their points. The flying disk and now this inf booster, seriously, who is making these decisions and why oh dear god WHY can't that person/people responsible ever understand this thing called....

"Value"

oh and timing. If I were in marketing I'd make sure that when peeps got their points, instead of rushing off to buy costume pieces they would be able to see these things, and these toys wouldn't be so godforsakenly over priced.

Again: Value.

Value to me would be this buff pet at a reasonable price that would entice me to spend points on it.

I'd buy it for 100 pts - read: When my points were there.

Instead we have something overly priced that most will have to sink money into the game to get and while that's all good for paragon, it's souring the playerbase.

That idea is wasted resources WHEN IT DOESN'T SELL.

Keep trying whoever is calling the shots.

One day, you will learn what value is.

oh, and GPBunny, that was awesome!

Absolutely ridiculous to sell this for 800 points. As mentioned upthread, do the people who price this crap even know what the word microtransaction means?

I think they should start doing random drug testing at Paragon starting with whoever slaps the pricetags on these things.

Except that for such a model to work, they have to be able to spend my money for me. And they can't, so it won't, so I'm pretty sure your interpretation fails.

I've got tons of recipe and salvage storage just through normal play and vet rewards and Vanguard merits. I bought extra storage on Beta and don't notice it much. The utility that goes along with having multiple enhancement trays got diminished when I picked up a stack of unslotters that allow me to pull IOs out one at a time.

What they offer is QOL convenience, but it's nothing I can't live without for $20. I'll spend money on other games before I get that free with my spending in this one.

If it's worth it to you, though, that's cool.

I think there should be a joke about leprechaun blood after this, just to make the gratuitous Charlie Sheen reference complete.

Well, that's too bad. I was looking forward to buying this guy, but certainly not at the listed price! Maybe next year they'll put him on sale...

Okay, if each pet is a learning experience (dog = 4 legged rig, etc), then this means we now get...

SNAKE MASTERY!

Yes, you heard it here first. The newest power, Snake Control, will launch with St. Patrick's Day. Admittedly, it has the unfortunate costume side effect of turning your costume green, but hey, we all make sacrifices. No more grinding our way thru snake maps - you just walk in, shout "THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!" and WHOOSH, snakes go fleeing from you like vampires from garlic.
