Retro Sci-fi, full of win and awesomeness!
-
Well, I'm ashamed to admit it but I would have bought this IF they hadn't killed my desire for collecting all the pets with how ridiculously hard they made getting the black wolf within the Super Packs. Needless to say, I don't have that and so I'm certainly NOT buying this! And everyone here is right, 800 points is waaaaaaaay too expensive for something like this. Two hundred points max is what it should have been (limited-time only or not).

Quote:I had all but 1 uncommon piece when I opened my 24th pack. It took me another 8 to get that! For me, trying to obtain exclusive costume pieces in future Super Pack releases... never again. They also killed off my desire of collecting all the vanity pets, since the Black Wolf is so rare hardly anyone is getting it. I've been a loyal subscriber since Year Two of this game and I'm more than a bit dissapointed in Paragon Studios with how they've chosen to handle themselves with these packs.I've seen a couple. Sadly unless you give a guaranteed chance for a costume roll there will be people who have bad luck with the RNG. I actually want to say I've seen one or two people who are still missing one or two pieces after 24 rolls but I'm not completely positive about that.

Quote:http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Elemen...Costume_Pieces._. Not the figures.... Where they would be in the costume editor type of thing... I know the obvious like belt and shoulder pieces... But like the helmet is it under Half helmets? Full helmets? Etc and what the pieces are called under each section is kinda what I was looking for :/

Quote:You're right my experience. I'm just here to say, don't expect a full set within 24 packs because it's not guaranteed and clearly doesn't happen for everyone. Like I said, my little experiment and one that just reaffirmed my dislike of this process. Hopefully, they won't do it again. *fingers crossed*Your experience. My experience going through 3 different accounts, 2 in beta and one live, is that you will more likely than not get a full set (in one case, missing one of the "very rares") long before you hit 24. I am not saying your one experience is not valid. I am saying it is strongly weighted in that direction.

Seeing a lot of people here say they've compiled the Elemental Order set easily within 20 packs. I had to open 32, or was it 33 (roughly 2,000 points worth)! Anyway, this is exactly why I won't support this type of practice in the future. I went against my better judgement because I wanted the set and I wanted to see for myself how many packs it might take me. So for anyone who thinks it's as simple as buying the 24-pack, think again.

Here's my two cents...
I won't be buying the Super Packs. I'll take my chances that the costume pieces will eventually be offered separately and if they're not, I just won't have them. It'll suck, since I have everything else unlocked costume-wise (barring Incarnate stuff). But, that's the choice I'm making. I absolutely hate the idea of buying these packs, hoping to finish off a set of costume pieces and ending up with a lot of items I just don't want. I hope this practice stops here and now. It seems most of the feedback being offered by the community at large is that we don't like it. Hopefully, the devs will listen and that'll be the end of exclusive costume pieces within Super Packs. -
Quote:They're probably trying to show females some love because a constant complaint from the community has been they're not shown any (we need "more female options"). Anyway, that's my presumption.please port the pieces to male and huge models. there really is no reason they shouldnt get to enjoy them. so what that the male canirval npcs dont have the same pieces, if i wanted to mimic the enemy group exactly [i.e. only females having the pieces] then this should have been an NPC transform power.
please port the pieces to the other models. this is silly. -
Their excuse for not scrubbing names more frequently (only done twice before that I know of) is that it's a very manual and labor intensive project. There's really no "bang for their buck" so to speak.
That said, I agree whole heartedly. Inactive accounts after a period of time should not expect to retain their names. To me, two plus years of inactivity on an account is more than fair. Unless, of course, you have a subscription. If you're paying, you should have the right to retain names inactivity or not. -
Agreed. I'm into this game for thousands of dollars over the course of six years and I can confidently say without reservation that if the naming system were changed, THAT would be the straw that broke the camel's back and I would instantly leave this game. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone. They would lose money and I doubt gain enough new paying customers to offset their losses.

Kewl! Hopefully, they'll drop to a reasonable amount. That, I know, will be subjective but for me it's about 200-250 points.

I'm not really sure what you're taking issue with. These are my thoughts on the matter. If you don't agree, that's your prerogative.

As a person who traveled to San Diego Comic Con a few years ago ONLY to get s costume code, I can confidently say "Yes". People, or at least a friend and I, go to conventions for that reason alone. Not saying it's normal practice or widespread but it does happen.
As far as the costume codes go, they are way too expensive points-wise for me to consider getting them at this point. Being a completist, I of course want them all but refuse to pay the kind of money it would take to get them all. I'll wait for them to go on sale or for their prices to be adjusted. I imagine they're not selling all that well based on the comments here.
Lastly, I use the costume code changes for my Shapeshifter toon. It's perfect for that but conceptually I'm not sure what else they can be used for other than "dressing up" for Halloween. Hence, why they're over-priced. -
"Light Bright" & "Statuette" released.

I just let go of a name for maybe 10 seconds and now the name is taken by someone else? What I find even more interesting is that the name is the global for someone? Didn't someone else mention here that when they let a name go it was immediately taken and the thought was that maybe two people had the same name and that when the person tried re-rolling it, that person lost it? I think the same thing just happened to me!

Twice I've received the little green check mark when seeing if a name was available on Exalted but when I got to the very end of the character creator to enter the game or tutorial, it said the name was already taken.
-
I'm offended no one thought enough of me to "steal" my name. How rude!
