Nice - I've been holding off getting this travel power since I have very few beast-themed characters, but now that it's on sale, I may give it a try. (Coyote transformation, however, isn't a good fit for any of them.)

If Paragon continues to discount old items whenever new ones come out if they're thematically related, that would add a bit of a purchase incentive for those on the fence.

Pretty much. Or, never, for travel powers that de-toggle me. Guess I'm too addicted to melee.

I'm still boggling that the price point on the Carnival bundle (13 pieces) and the Barbarian bundle (36 pieces?) is the same.

They really need to work on some tech to suppress instead of de-toggle. I'd buy this and the carpet on that day.

The price may be a bit much, but I have to admit it is pretty cool.
Judging by that video, it looks like it's exactly the same +jump and +runspd as Ninja Run or Beast Run. Does it detoggle, suppress, or let you use powers normally the way that they do?

Thanks for the video. The character's leaping looks unnatural, if you can call anything "natural" in the game. It looks more like gliding for short distances. Or maybe it's just the height it reaches.

Looks cool, not worth 800 points.. Next up, Cheetah travel power!

Agreed, the jumping looks off. when i saw the jump animation, I thought of a Sugar Glider(Squirrel).

I haven't yet seen anyone on live with it, but during testing it was the same as Beast/Ninja Run, but also detoggling everything.

Call me back when the coyote is 1/4 the price it is now

"Can play" is not a binary. It's a float.
There are some pretty low values of "can play" out there.

This.

As my main is (obvious by my namesake) a lycanthrope, I think it's neat, but too specific to be desirable for any of my characters. The same colorization issues are what has kept me from purchasing the German Shepard (would have been better as a colorable canine instead). Adding insult to injury, they toss the Black Wolf I might have considered purchasing into the 'super packs' which I will probably never touch.

They REALLY need to have some sort of color customization options for these things, like make it match whatever color you chose for your primary 'top' chest color so we at least have some sort of control over how it looks. Especially for the point cost of what equates to a vanity toy.

Next on the market, a White Wolf for 600 points. Next month, we'll feature a Grey Wolf for 600 points! Too specific for too much. That's my take on it anyway.

"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.

The animations and idle for the coyote are absolutely wonderful, I may pick this up when it goes on sale.

I'm over the one-off travel powers. I skipped the carpet, I'm skipping this.

Let's shift the time and effort going into these one-offs into customization options for our existing travel powers. We're almost 6 issues past when power customization was introduced, and was nearly universally loved. Incarnate abilities have customization options, it is time for APPs and Power Pools to receive the same treatment.

As I said in another thread, I'm a sucker for sales. I already have the Beast Run power thanks to the Animal Pack, but if I did not, I would be inclined to buy it. As of now, I am waiting for the Circle of Thorns set, Steampunk set, and Street Justice power set to go on sale. When that happens, my points will fly from my account

This is my problem with these kinds of items too, as well as the Magic Carpet for 600, which is just the Rocket Board reskinned.

I don't mind paying a few bucks for a from-the-ground new power when the time is invested into making it, but I do mind when you sell the exact-same-power with a different model or animation, or especially just a different texture, at the same price-point as the original, and don't even offer any sort of discount for people who already bought the original.

I have learned my lesson and won't be buying anything like this that's 'kinda good' for my characters until I see one come out that's exactly what I wanted, because I know if they're going to keep rehashing the same thing over and over again eventually they'll hit my desired mark (in the case of all the dog stuff, I'll be waiting for the white wolf transformation power).

Oh, great. I can see it now. . .

"Where did you get that dent in your car?"

"Oh that? A wild dog jumped in front of my car out of nowhere."

"Mm-hmm. Well, that 'wild dog' apparently has Chris Jenkins for an attorney and is suing you for pain and suffering."
