  1. Band of Horses - The Funeral

(could have easily been Band of Heroes)

Sorry that is had to be a link with nothing more and a 'lame' video. I wish I could have done my own.
  2. Maybe I'll show up... Good thing I have 6 free character Transfers!
  3. after playing this game for 7 years and 8 months, having made lots for friends. Keeping in touch with about 10 of them. It is sad to see this game go for no other reason than greed.

anyways, i will miss this game very much.
  4. We all appreciate the hard work everyone does for the game and the community events. It just seems that there is a lack of temporary resources needed to run an event like this. Why not reach out to the community for help? I understand that there are some technicalities that would need to be dealt with. I am sure you can find a few good Heroes and Villains willing to assist during these non-scripted player events.

    (wishful thinking)

I know its seems "odd" but, CoH being around for 8 years (a bit more), we still seem to be the red headed step child of the MMO world. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. What I do know is that our Devs (and more) have done a great job with keeping this game "fun" and "up to date". Yes, I use "fun" and "up to date'" in quotes because, after 8 years of playing I find my self from time to time wondering "Why do I still play this game?!" and then when I don't play for a few days, I actually miss it! Sometimes, I don't miss the content or what is going on but, I miss the players. I miss the "LFG". I miss the "Forming TF/SF". I miss the "FOTW". I miss the "* Farming".

You see, there is a lot more to this game than power-leveling your toon to 50 and running Incarnate content. This is actually a game where there is a community, a player base of people who have been around long enough to actually understand how to play the game. These people are not afraid to help and show the newbies how to do it.

As a community, we need to find more ways to show the Devs our appreciation. We need to find more ways of showing new and old players that this game still has LOADS to offer. Sure, we would all like to see less time for Issues in the Development Phase and more items on the Market. But, they only have so much time and so many resources.

As a Veteran player of 8 years, I would like to proclaim that on the date of Issue 24, we also call that date (from here on out) "Dev Appreciation Day!" While so many of us enjoy the this great game, we should give thanks to those who have made it great for us.

    what do you say?
  6. Yawn. I hope the RICKETY bring something new to their invasion this time.
  7. Can you at least tell us if we can expect for from this event or is what we see is what we get?

would have been nice to see Mole Machines spawn near iconic places, City Hall, Portal Corp, Fault Line Dam, in the waters near Golden Giza, The Pit (Sharkhead), Crey Building (Nerva).
  9. I was a little disappointed with the 'start' of this recycled invasion event. I hope there is more to this whole thing and that it gets better.
  10. A lot of other Heroes are missing. I believe we should be focusing on WHO is attending. I for one find it interesting that Dark Watcher is there. Yet Positron makes no mention of him being a (one of the) co-founder of the Freedom Phalanx. It seems that his presence can be rather ominous.

She's a trainer in Croatoa too.

Maybe Mender Lazarus in the lower left corner too.
  11. Looks cool, not worth 800 points.. Next up, Cheetah travel power!

Agreed, the jumping looks off. when i saw the jump animation, I thought of a Sugar Glider(Squirrel).

I like your idea of side missions! Much better than a stand alone mission. If it's done tastefully or tactfully, then there should not be an issue. Anyways, yea wishful thinking.
  13. I'm still trying to get a gaming community (263 on Facebook & over 15,000 on their website) people to give City of Heroes a try. However, its more likely 5 to 10 people would give it a chance.

    Anyways, the review seems fair.

Also, that you think every new addition to the game should require the added efforts of an entirely different department and that the mission-making people should spend all their time cranking out missions explaining why you have a dog or a cowboy hat instead of making more useful or meaningful missions. Ultimately, it would slow down releases of things like costume packs and powerset releases if they have to wait for missions to complete, and slow down the releases of actual content like new zones, trials, and task forces because those people are busy doing something else.

All so the game can tell you where you found that cigarette.
blah blah blah. go pick a fight else where and lets get back on topic.

This set is obviously lacking and people are upset. Give the people what they want and make most people happy.

It's just an addition to the Costume set offering that could be offered in AE. Which wouldn't take too much time to make. And it's not WHY you can wear it but, how you got it.

And you are right, I'm sure EVERYONE except for me will be annoyed at having another mission to play.

I'll give you credit, it goes along with Buttflap or Muddflap.

And yes, Angelxman81, I am serious. A mission or two (2) would be a nice accompaniment to the costume set. If I am going to buy something I'd like to WHY I NEED to buy it.
  17. Live with what issue? Back in the day, they would release tons of stuff in 1 issue, not every week.

I gotta say, after 7 years of playing this game I am actually getting annoyed with the Costume updates. IT IS NOT CONTENT! IT IS FLUFF!

Why buy any of this when the Devs don't have a back story or something interesting that goes along with the Costume sets! At least give us a small mission arc that explains the reason for getting the Costume set!.

I.E. Here's the Gunslinger/Cowboy/Cowgirl set: Heroes/Villains recently fought Malta Group and uncovered a stash of Primal Earth goodies! Look at these Chaps and Buttcapron, can you believe that Heroes/Villains used to wear these things?! At least you legs and rear will be protected!

    or

After an unsuccessful Rikti invasion thwarted by ____ and the Vanguard we were able to liberate some Rikti Technology. Blasters, Defender, Scrapers, Corruptors and Dominators get your hands on this hot Rikti technology! Don't worry Brutes, Tanks etc etc, we have these Items for your protection!

    or

Here's your German Shepard! Your loyal companion is unconditionally grateful that you took the time to release him from the 5th's pound!
    Make it happen!
  18. Our data mining shows that everything is working as intended.

    Yeahhhh 7 years!
  19. I used TextPad5 when editing these .mnu files.
  20. that's all ;P

At least Alpha Slot will "be working as intended"
  21. Water World was the first thing that came to mind. :P

It would be nice if they moved around in the water. Heck, even if the whole mess of ships meandered around the map.
  22. i wish there was a rodent version... I'm sure we'll be able to concoct something.

I know this will be another pack I would buy.
