I got 2 uncommons from 2 Keyes trials tonight on my MM, several other players got commons. So I'd say that if the better chance at rares is somehow tied to the participation metric, you might want to take a look at the percentages.

Why the hell was /buycoh removed? it made alting so much smoother.

So far this fake issue which contains no "meat and potatoes" has been nothing more than a disappointment. No new trials, fairly useless iAbilities, and UI bugs... not to mention dumbing down Keyes to a preschool level. Isn't one of the badges called "Loves a Challenge"? There was nothing about Keyes which was un-achievable with a PUG. I hope you don't mess with the Underground since it would seem that's the only challenging thing left in the game for now. Are we supposed to expect weeks of broken game play every time we get a new issue now? Good thing MW3 came out on Tuesday, I thought Activision and Infinity Ward had a bad Development teams... But, I forget about NC Soft and Paragon Studios.

-For Me-
Keyes being to easy = Unacceptable
Worthless iAbilities = Unacceptable
UI is bugged = Unacceptable
VIP Content nerf's (Sig Arc merits/AE) = Unacceptable
iTrial rewards still broken IMO = Unacceptable
iTrials not getting released with all the other content = Unacceptable

I PL myself! YAY

They removed this a while ago because accessing the auction house on an instanced map (a mission or a base) caused a massive increase in server load.

Cool and thanks muchly -- I was hoping for a husky/malamute/wolf/whatever was in the haunted house but hey, a Shepherd is a nice start!

Now, regarding this "Possible Maintenance Notification" -- good idea! Please make it happen, and while you're at it, temporarily assign that genius from Marketing who said "who cares about the bugs? Roll it out anyhow!" to help the GM's all weekend, replying to all the petitions you've undoubtedly gotten.

After two months, Triumph has been unable to get Loves a Challenge a second time. With these changes, we'll have a fair chance to do it. The pulse damage might as well not exist now.

However, in the previous state, Keyes was simply not being run enough and players were staying away from it in droves.

Sorry you liked the previous version, but Keyes had to change in order for players to run it. On the other hand I fully expect there to be a nerf to the rewards on Keyes.

Underground will likely need to be changed because people will not be running it. Underground is not worth my time to run. It is not worth my time to PUG it.

If this wasn't a bug, I'd be so happy. All KB being KD improves so many powers.

Pfft. I bought all the hype and went to try my Peacebringer. Solar Flare still knockbacks things a good 5-10 feet away. :|

Edit: and my base defense items won't attack me. Come ooooooon. Am I the only one who misses all the cool bugs?

Yes, you can work around it by ambushes, but hazardous mobs can be there in normal missions too.
All true, but all this change has done was put AE on more-or-less even footing with normal missions, which don't have an inspiration vendor immediately outside of every door.

I'm not saying I'm thrilled with this change, but it's not exactly like you're making it out.

If I'm going to get up in arms over things from this issue, it'd be that some things aren't documented. That I don't even know if KB has been intentionally changed without comment, or if it's a bug. That a well reported UI bug is in live, and wasn't even mentioned as a known issue when this issue was released. That /buycoh is gone (again without any documentation) with no alternative that I'm aware of for quickly swapping from alt, to alt. That the badges interface still looks horrible and is royal pain to use now, which was also mentioned as a problem in the beta.

I don't think I'd really get irate over the base issue, since it's so darned funny, but if it wasn't funny, I'd add that to my list.

The Bioluminescence options no longer glow! I reported this multiple times in beta and it still made it to live! Please stop breaking my costumes.

Ok so an issue with a bunch of bugs and incarnate stuff......so when is the next issue coming out that does not have incarnate crap in it?

Shh no they didn't, it was still possible in bases. I'll have to look again.

Omega probably won't be out til next november or later, and I'd bet money no issue through then will be lacking at least some trickle of incarnate stuff. Realistically we won't get anything else until they're "done" with existing incarnate stuff.....and that abomination that won't go away and keeps getting bigger called Praetoria either. DopplegangerTech=win. Ebil dimension constantly trying to invade ours where they're all born inherently stronger than our dimension's inhabitants; lame.

Yes. As I and others expected this "hybrid business model" is being handled in extremely poor taste. It's not that they needed it because the game was dying, but the changes production and management are making because we switched to it is killing off players.

lolVIP. The "hybrid" model since it launched has seemed to be "VIPs go sit in the corner and be quiet we already have your money. Stay out of the way while we try to impress the noobs into becoming VIPs so they can join you in the corner and we work on the next round." Since this model launched all of these disaster-patches have hit because they were rushing something out the door to bring them back into the MMO spotlight for a sec with new content to reel in a couple more free players before a new competing MMO launches and they grab those players instead. Dumming down of trials(which I did like seeing) was done because new players(the minors likely) are unwilling to learn strategy and couldn't handle the challenge before. And of course bugs being rushed live, and more on live being backburnered while they continue creating small(albeit sometimes incredibly cool) items to drop into the Market to get a few extra bucks off everybody. Cuz ya know; bug fixes get a smile, Market trinkets get money. So to hell with the fixes .

Edit: Freedom's launch is reminding me of the AE Launch. CoH has such a spotlight on them all that matters is public image from the outside, it doesn't matter if actual players get new bugs, from the outside it's new "content". Like the incredi-fail where anyone who said something bad about AE in 2009 had their thread/post deleted, because AE was an innovation we overhyped, and we couldn't have the competitors lol'ing at us as it backfired and caused the Devs more longterm(still ongoing) trouble than it's intended purpose could have ever been worth.(I actually tried to make a semi-honest AE mission this week. Couldn't use the flame emblem unlocked on my account from Empyrean Michael, no other incarnate unlocks either. Those were what? June? C'mon, no binary aura on custom NPCs in a virtual reality setting that's a crime. And no powercustomization(colors) for the customs either. If you want people to use it properly give it features capable of more than crude farm XP.)

Edit2: And the reason the "hybrid business model" is scaring away VIPs so fast is mostly because "hybrid" means more money opportunities, giving the business suits more input on the game's development. Yesterday's publish which was clearly released due to a gun in our Lead Dev's face is proof of what happens when you let the business managers anywhere near the people who actually sculpt the game. Coh was better off flatrate with those guys hogtied in a corner leaving Paragon Studios free to do their job unobstructed.

All I know is Incarnate stuff is not for casual players/solo/ or people who like small teams. Couple this with having to grind the hell out of certain tf's to unlock the abilities is a big disappointment for the "end game" content they have come out with.
Praetoria is pretty "meh" I like First Ward, but, the rest is just a pain.

I seriously wish they would have put more content into existing zones, done something with base raids/pvp, more AT's, powersets, more for the game.

As it stands me and the wife are quitting, while I like some of the content that has been coming out I have to say so much has been left to the wayside. Instead they push on for more shineys instead of boosting some areas of the game that could be great.

I think too much time has been vested for the incarnate stuff, I notice my globals disappearing one at a time and it seems like the "golden age" of this game has come to end.

Sorry to say because I thought this game was really going to keep going.

I think this game is heading for a hard core group of VIPs and new ones, mostly prems and F2P. I think the prems and the F2P folk are going to make up the bulk of the population. Seriously think about how many people that do not play now or have gone prem ones that you know, now times that across everyone.

While I am not eluding to this being a doom post, I just think that this is the change that is coming about because of decisions made for the game. Personally I have lost alot of friends recently, I have not seen an exodus like this since the last changes to pvp when I lost about 22 friends. Now I have only seen 2 active and 2 semi active global friends out of 30. Ever since the incarnate stuff has come out these numbers keep dwindling.

Not your prob, my apologies.

Well, the buff still requires that they be within range, and they can still be killed, so the only real effect of them being toggles is it takes longer to resummon, since the recharge doesn't start until they get detoggled (usually by death).

An odd nerf to something that was only minimally useful before.

It wasn't impossible to do. It just put a major strain on the servers when you did.

Has anyone else noticed that some of the progress badges for bases have now vanished?

Under the new 'Collect' tab, under 'Supergroup Badges' in the sub-category 'Defeats' there should be a progress bar for the number of enemies defeated with flamethrowers. Also under 'Achievement' there should be a progress bar for Circle of Thorns missions completed (up to 200).
