If you knew Lord_Of_Time, please read. :(
While I never teamed with him, I did enjoy many of the posts that he brought to the forums. As a Soldier, I've seen friends die. Had another friend of mine get blown up in March as well. I don't think I like March anymore.
To all Of Lord of Times friends, I send my condolences.
God Speed.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
Now that you mention it, his voice has been rather absent. I rather enjoyed his posts and the posting style therein. While I didn't know him personally, it does sadden me to hear of his passing.
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

LoT was a good guy. I wondered what had happened to him as he just...disappeared...from the forums. Sadness. Trust me, it didn't go unnoticed, at least by me. LoT is the second person I've known on here (in so far as one can "know" a person on the internet, I wouldn't say we were "friends", but friendly enough) that has passed away.
Rest In Peace, good man.

This is a voice that will be missed. If I'm not mistaken, his avatar was usually dr. Who themed?
Oh, ****. I had been wondering where he'd gone off...
RIP, guy...have fun spamming the others who have passed on with cool afterlife news.

was wondering what happened to him. yeah he was a very big part of the heart of comic culture, will be remembered fondly.
We'd only interacted occasionally on these boards, but still... I always loved seeing that sig too.
I'm hoping this is appropriate:
"Death is that state where one exists only in the memory of others. Which is why it is not an end. No goodbyes. Just good memories. Hailing frequencies closed..."

Godspeed
I raise a toast to the memory of our forum's human geek news aggregator.
I won't be able to see a Time Manipulation character from here on without being reminded of you.
Positron: "There are no bugs [in City of Heroes], just varying degrees of features."
I myself wondered why he had not restarted up the Doctor Who threads when 6.5 started up..Guess I know now.
It's always saddening to lose another Hero.

Oh wow, over half of my PMs are from Lord of Time, due to our mutual enjoyment of Doctor Who...
Farewell Lord of Time.
This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood. Our Home.
Sad news indeed, I always enjoyed LoT's posts on this forum. I never had the pleasure to team with him in the game though.
Confirmed altaholic with 70+ alts in coh and cov...yes i know thats alot! Playing coh since beta test phase.
In another forum I frequent, a simple piece of punctuation stands for a moment of silence upon the news of someone's passing:
.
Oh man he was a good person to talk to...sheesh that sucks..
Fare thee well LoT you will be missed...
Ever since he had given up on posting here due to flack he had received owing to his prolific posting and unpopular views, we had maintained a e-mailing back and forth of articles which we both found interesting (of a political nature mostly).
I had no idea that he passed away. I simply stopped hearing from him. This is a shame. It is also a shame I never managed to meet him face to face.
I hope he's in a better place now, or at least at peace.
Too many alts to list.
It's always a lose when world is extinguished. I don't remember much about him as I suck at remembering people, but he'll be missed.
Wow, I had no idea.
I truly enjoyed his posts and enthusiasm for the genre.
Farewell, Lord of Time, you will definitely be missed. I hope your next regeneration is a great one!
And likewise, I lost a good friend who was a big comics and CoH fan last year. He never posted here, but I got the word out on the forums he did frequent. I think the closure of goodbyes is just as important for casual friends as well as close ones.
Thank you, Turg, for getting the word out.
/em salute
Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.
It was always enjoyable to read one of LoTÂ’s posts, whether it was filling us in on Dr. Who lore or how he felt about the latest Scifi Film or TV show, he was very passionate about those topics & his posts reflected how he felt about them.
You will be missed Lord_Of_Time, Rest In Peace.
That was a beautiful benediction, Turg. LoT had a good friend in you. It's sad news to hear he's gone. While I have trouble remembering any of his specific threads I do remember that his was one of the most visible and prolific names on these boards and that he was a major contributor to all things comic hero and villain culture. Thanks for all the things you gave us to chew on Lord of Time.

I had wondered where he dematerialized to...
He will be missed truly.

This is going to be written weirdly, so bear with me.
First, it's with a horribly heavy heart that I announce the death of a fellow player, Dathus Bel-Ar (forum handle, "Lord_Of_Time"). I'm announcing it here because, for all intents and purposes, this, along with City Life, was his most favorite forum to hang out in.
His death was in March of 2011, after many years of declining health. He was a huge comic book culture fan, and was an opinionated fiend on anything and everything and in-between.
I met Dathus waaay back in the day on Freedom, in the 2004-5 Hami raids. He was a core member of Oblivion Guard, and had a penchant for melee builds. A gregarious player straight down to the bones, he was always fun to run with, even when he was busy telling you what was wrong with Green Lantern and the many, many revamps over the years.
I've been a FB friend of his for ages, and wished him a happy birthday this past January. I had no idea he passed away two months later, until a common friend mentioned she found his obit today.
The thing about gaming communities is that, when someone disappears, you just assume they went somewhere else. "Oh, Game X came out, he must've jumped ship." You don't think about the why's and the wherefore's, and eventually, their silenced voice is overwritten by new voices. Life moves on, with a vengeance.
Dathus loved this game, and loved the comic book genre with a passion reserved for truly crazy whackjobs who wear Babylon 5 t-shirts as a political statement on quality writing. He was nuts about Doctor Who, and drove me bonkers when he'd constantly try selling me on the revamp. (No, I still haven't seen it.)
Seeing his voice go quiet on the forums, unnoticed and without pause for reflection or requiem, seemed wrong for One Of Us.
So tonight, I want to call your attention to Patrick Brusio, one last time. To the tanker who would show off how awesome Ice was back when it was boring. To the comic book nerd who seriously saturated his life a bit too much to be sexy to the ladies. To the man who was dealt a bum hand in life, but smiled through it all. To my friend, whom I met those many years ago in the Hive, and whose voice I'll truly miss.
Sleep well, Dathus. You've earned the peace.
