Dechs is right, that build is awesome!
Been meaning to ask you though, any plans for the ATO set for that build? -
I really, really wanted nin ported over to scrappers to.
Then I rolled a /sr, took the epic with caltrops, and then grabbed the healing Ipower.
Works well for me. -
Quote:Brutes aren't meant to be at 100% fury with no effort. They're meant to be at 100% with an 800 million inf expenditure utilizing the set in a high use attack chain or saturated aura. Or as with normal for our devs, they nerfed so that they could buff in some other way. ED gave us IOs, the fury nerf gave us brute ATO.
Just for the hell of it, I'm crunching claws numbers using 95% fury and 14% crit rate for scrappers on the single target attack chain.
EDIT: That's funny. With my current claws chain/enhancements/etc:
Scrapper 198
Brute 199.5
yea, not seeing a problem here.
EDIT2: Oh, superior goes to 16...
Brute 199.5
Scrapper 201.7
Still not seeing a problem.
I had been thinking of rerolling my claws/sr scrapper to a brute as well. Luckily I got the brute proc in a pack, so I wont have to spend that much money on it.
Thanks alot BillZ, as if I didn't already have enough projects. -
-
Quote:My FM brute disagrees, as fury afects the DoT.And brutes do significantly less damage with most primaries ceteris paribus. SS is an exception as scrappers do not, and never will, get it. Katana is not an exception because scrappers do get it and it benefits from scrappers' radically superior build up, musculature, assault, enhanced critical values, and so on.

I would love the instructions for this as well, peeeeeeeeaaaasssseeeeeeee

Spc Bass, US Army reporting!
My build? I'm 6' 0" 245, 19 inch neck, 22 inch arms brown hair and blue eyes. Was once told I was the scariest looking medic someone had ever seen.
Now I'm a nurse.
Oh, different Bass? My bad. -
I believe Rick James said it best, "Cocaines a hell of a drug"
-
Kinda reminded me of Sam Raimiss early work. Evil Dead anyone?
-
The reason why I never brought it up was because the massive def and res that you were once capable of getting was one of the reasons that regen was looked at so hard by the Devs.
It wasn't regen that was the real issue, it was regen combined with tough+weave+cj. -
Quote:That's the whole reason I slotted ToD in my /EA toon. Still get softcapped for a cheaper price.First, you can't buy a Kinetic Combat with Alignment Merits... you would have to sell other things to get the cash, which while totally doable, it would be better, IMO to use them for stuff in the build you can get with them.
Secondly, yes, they are a lot more expensive, like 10 to 20 times more. -
Sorry, thought we were talking passive regen, no toggles. Suppose that's what I get for posting when I'm tired.
-
Quote:Glad you like it. And may I say that is one bad *** costume.I ended up tweaking your build a little bit, and I'm very happy with the results. As a test (which is what I do generally to gauge tank survivability) I went to Cimerora to take on the soldiers that guard the wall.
Other than having to eat a couple yellows to be able to hit them, I had no trouble whatsoever tanking a mob of lvl 52s (+5 to me).
Again, thank you so very much Gobbledygook!
PS - here`s my upcoming new costume for when he hits 50...I call it Cybretooth. -
Quote:So I just hit lvl 47 with my SR/SJ tanker, and I have to say that I have no idea how he will ever survive what I can do on my electric or shield or wp tanks.
*shaking head* He's just so damned squishy, it's frustrating as hell. Does not feel like a tank to me at all.
Here's his build, if ANYONE has any ideas/input/suggestions (that are affordable) to help save him from the "retired due to lack of survivability" pile, I would greatly appreciate it.

And then theres this, just threw this together. Could drop the melee and ranged def some, considering it is over the incarnate softcap.

Honestly, I feel this thread is becoming less and less helpful: it's degenerated into "Regen sucks b/c my Regen keeps dying" vs. "Regen is fine b/c my Regen never dies" posts (note: I'm guilty of this as well
).
I say, we hit the restart button, and try to be more constructive than "I [don't] die!" posts:
If you feel regen needs some help, why do you think it's lacking and how can it be made better?
Maybe putting up some builds (SOs as well as decked out IO) for comparison so those of us that think Regen is invincible can help those that think it's squishy?
Thank you for this. The original intent is to be a DISCUSSION, not a contest to see who has the biggest E Peen. -
-
Part of the reason I listed all of the changes at the beginning was to illustrate that with the way things work today (ED GDN) that regen performing like that most likely wouldn't happen. I freely admit to being terrible at math though.

Slight necroposting as I am searching the boards for an idea on a stalker.
I personally have always wanted to make a stalker, I just dislike the AT, alot.
So I decided to make a scrapper that I could stalk with. A Wm/Sr scrapper with SS and a stealth IO actually makes for a fun and interesting play session.
I even confuse team mates sometimes. I'll wipe out a whole group, and when finished, say "Man, I love my stalker"
Then someone invariably explains to me the difference between the two AT's. -
Quote:The leveling is the real ***** of it.I suppose that is a fair concern, and one I am really in no position to comment on. I had this char to 40 before issue 2 was even released, and to 50 before IH was even changed - I played in the initial beta of CoH and up through the first few issues until WoW came out, and only popped my head back in periodically until maybe a month or two ago. So, the level grind for Regen in its current state is completely foreign to me. I don't like to repeat sets, so I haven't rolled another Regen recently.
After I started this thread, I decided to try the "New Regen", and rolled a SS/Reg brute. CoT can kiss my ***. Seriously. -rech, -reg, and some pretty damned hard hitting attacks. I've only thought about deleting him twice so far. Though that's twice as many times as I've thought about it on any other toon I make. This guy will be SO/Generic IO's only. -

Quote:The power stun in em? Or the status effect? Why are people anti-stun towards Energy Melee? I like it. I just don't get it.
Well, all I play are melee toons, so stun is completely worthles to me. It's like hand clap, or provoke on a scrapper. If I wanna get somethings attention, I will stab/punch/kick/burn something in it's face. -
You know, I haven't touched the set in a while.
Maybe I should give it a run. I know there was a post in the brute section about a Ss/Reg, using just SO's or generic IO's.
Maybe I'll give that a try, give some feedback.
