Ok here is an example....this happened this last week on the Sister Psyche Task Force. Mew was playing a Street Justice/Ninja Armor Stalker......so mew had a little trouble with energy usage.....as in it ran out alot.....so mew had to slow down on the attacks.... |
And on BAF I can't even vent my anger on them by getting confused and ASing them because while you can target allies, it just says invalid target. So I'm working on void judgement. See if a nice untargetted AOE surprises them. muhaha. Outdamage ME will you? Filthy defender, take that! blam. Sigh. At least I haven't been shamed by a defender yet.

I've realized that my Claws Stalker will rarely be the best character on a team, if ever. So, I've decided to do most of my damage via Shockwave. Because, let's face it, KBing everything is fun, and makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.
Now comes with solar-powered flashlights!

Because this was the first time mew had an experience of teaming up with 7 other players who literaly made Stalkers from other archtypes and did a better job then the typical stalker.....
As mew told some people in a chat channel...mew expected this from the archnos soldier....and already knew widows are also superior to stalkers(they get threat reduction more health better armor and have the same placate and damage bonus a stalker has)....but having the Tank and Brute and Scrapper do the same thing!! and with more damage!!!...=>_<=
Mew felt like an Underachiever with this team.....
In fact almost every mission was a race to see who could get to the end boss or whatever first.

The player who played that defender actualy asked the team if we wanted them to power level us.
Mew was very impressed....never met that player again nor ever met a character that could do what that defender did.
I haven't used StJ yet but what kind of power does it have for it? My nrg/ice stalker pulls off some pretty impressive damage, but it is lacking in the speed departmant as well 
Welcome to issue 6. Its been like this since the begining and nothing will ever change till we get a dev with balls who actually plays stalkers and not pretends to play them. Just be glad they let you join the tf. Normally on servers the typical response is "lol stalkers" when you try to join anything. Its only gotten worse since freedom since its easier to start villains on heroside now.

You gave up the hitpoints for the gimmicky hide/assassin strike mechanism that is also deliberately gimped because sometime long ago someone was worried it would be overpowered, and this was confirmed because a loony quickly leveled themselves in beta off of mission complete bonuses.
Seriously does it come as a shock to you ? Stalkers in this game aren't Jason Voorhes and if they are Michael Meyers its the balding accountant version

I did once team with a blapper who had provoke and out-tanked my tank on the Kahn taskforce. Survived spawns that slaughtered me, held aggro better, and did blaster level damage. That was also embarrassing.

I get used to be the only one that usualy can do super stealth and teleport the team and end up rezing everyone better then the healers...=^_^=
But this team...wow they did almost every single one of mews tricks but better....even the Brute for example literally telported the entire team to the last room once...and rezed someone else.....

Mew is going to be serious about this....but if you are truly having trouble with getting on a team being a stalker.....or....you get people who laugh at you for playing one....
Switch to Guardian Server now....that does not happen on that server.
The only LOL you might get for being a stalker and joining a TF will be when there are 5 other Stalkers...and the LOL is because they know they are going to annihilate the entire TF.
In fact Timed Savior on a few occasions has run Eden Trials and a few other Task Forces with Nothing but Stalkers....
I'm with the kitty. On Virtue I've been asked not to bring my stalker to things, but it's quite rare. If you really have that bad a problem, then you're running in the wrong crowd.

Back to the main topic. Well, yeah, other ATs have access to stealth as well. They work relatively well most of the time.
I've noticed many people love taking super speed. Weird. That's one travel power that I don't like.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

The Ice Tanker I played till level 30ish later also had SS, he didn't even need stealth, he could just zip by and take 5-10 ranged hits from mobs without noticing much.
