I find my Warshade not necessarily complicated but does require an element of concentration and focus that some other toons don't. If I want to make the most out of the toon in a mission it's a little non-stop so find it harder to multitask (e.g. stop and just chat with friends).

But when you are on a roll with maxed Eclipse, three Dark Extractions and a damage buff hanging around 200% it is a sight to behold!!

1. Tanker - Tons of fun soloing +4/x8 spawns.
2. Brute - Not as tough as a Tanker but dishes out damage faster.
3. Arachnos Widow - Versatile.
4. Arachnos Soldier - Ditto.
5. Scrapper - Fun but not as survivable as a Tanker.
6. Dominator - Mez + damage = win.
7. Corruptor - Buffs/debuffs + damage = win.
8. Controller - Fun to play on teams.
9. Blaster - Ditto.
10. Defender - Multiple Defenders = win.
11. Stalker - Playstyle is kind of boring.
12. Warshade - Don't like all the form shifting.
13. Peacebringer - Ditto.
14. Mastermind - Too much micromanagement.

It depends on particular sets, but in general that's where I am. I won't really touch anything below controller except for very special circumstances.
Pretty close to same. I think since I've played tank so much my desire has gone down for even creating new ones and only dusting off current ones for day job badges.

Pretty easy list for me

1. Tankers - By far leads the pack.
2. Scrapper
3. Defender
4. Controller
5. Brute
6. Dominator
7. Blaster
8. Peacebringer
9. Corruptor
10. SoA
11. Stalker
12. Warshade
13. Mastermind - Absolutely horrible.

This thread reminds me that I don't play red side enough I am not a fan of the lower levels of the red side which always puts me off making another character. That may all change with 21 of course. Not just that you can start with with any AT on any side but that I am finding the Beta red staring content much more to my liking.

Anyway I love Tanks. They suit my play style and that I like soloing and they are the easiest (imo of course ) things to solo.

After Tanks its just: The Rest. I find individual powersets I enjoy but don't love other ATs like I love Tanks

Everything just goes downhill to the point that I never play that AT. Though Stalkers and controllers would be at my bottom.

I doubt there is any realistic way I could judge and put in a particular order my favorite to least favorite AT's individually. I can lump them together easily enough by how much I tend to play them, but even that is subjective.

1. Scrappers, Tanks, Brutes, my Night Widow and Bane. Dunno why I like these as much as I do, but I do.

2. Stalkers, Blasters, Corruptors, Doms and MM's would be next.

3. Defenders. I've only ever found 1 Defender I liked enough to get it to 50, and it was one heck of a fun ride. There are a couple others I'm slowly leveling up but they just aren't as fun.

4. Controllers. I used to like them a lot, but I just can't seem to get into them like I used to. I have a feeling it's because how Doms fit my playstyle better.

5. PB's would be next. I've given these things sooo many tries over the years and it's just never caught my interest. Until recently. I decided to go back and give it another try, the first since the Kheld improvements were added a while back. Level 35 now and I have to say, while not the best character I've ever played it's starting to grow on me. I guess we'll see what happens as I get higher level.

6. Warshades. Like PB's, I've given these things a number of tries over the years, with even less success than PB's. Don't know what it is about them, but I just cannot get into them. I've seen 'shades do absolutely amazing things. I remember a few years back I was in a regular team with a player who had a human only WS and the things they did were amazing to behold. Watching them wipe out 6-8 man spawns solo was incredible, especially since this was in the low to mid 30's and before IO's!

7. Fortunatas and Crabs. My Bane was originally a Crab, but I just could not get past having those freaking legs blocking my view all the time. And the playstyle didn't fit either so I respec'd and went Bane, much happier.

As to Fortunatas, I've never even considered using a dual build for my Night Widow to try a Fortunata. Don't get me wrong, I do want to try a Fortunata, but I want it to be it's own character. The thing holding me back is I absolutely detest red side. The higher the level, the less I like it. Perhaps when i21 hits, I'll give a Fortunata a try and if it works out I can be hero side quick enough. So even though I've never tried a Fortunata and have tried a Crab, I'll still rank the Fortunata higher simply because I will never, EVER play a Crab again.

Unless they allow you to get rid of those freaking legs.

I do have a 50 fire/rad. Can't stand him. If I ever have the stones to delete one of my 50s it will be that one.

But yes, this list is very subjective. Notice how many people list MMs at or near the bottom, and yet there are a not inconsiderable number of people who adore them and play nothing else.

I'm new, so my list isn't that long.

1. Peacebringer.
2. Defender.
3. Tank
4. Blaster.
5. Anything else. Haven't played Scrapper or Controller, and I've only one run villain and found Mercy Island too dingy to want to stay in or go past.

I really loved playing my Mastermind when I first started playing CoX, I still have it, but I don't play much these days anymore. The novelty of my minions doing most of the work for me got to become a little boring for me personally and after grinding out 1100+ badges with my Mastermind I just couldn't keep playing it anymore.

What the heck, I'll take a shot:

1 MM
2 Crab
3 Corr
3 Def
5 Controller
6 Dom
7 NW/Fort
8 Scrapper
9 Brute
10 Warshade
11 Blaster
12 Tank
13 Stalker
14 PB

I would put Stalkers around 7 or 8 except for the team utility thing. I do think they're more "fun" than Scraps, in general. I wimped out and tied Corrs and Defs.

For me, the gap occurs between 7 and 8, where the "support" classes end and the "damage" classes begin.

Just for bona fides - I've played (not PLd) all of the above ATs to 50, with only the 2 Khelds having just one 50 each, the rest have multiple 50s.

I would need to split them in to three groups

First groups is the one that I love to play and play the most. weather it was solo on groups play.

1 Scrappers
2 Brutes
3 Widows
4 Blasters

This next group I like to play mostly on teams.

5 Defenders
6 Corruptors
7 Dominators

This last groups I don't like to play that much.

8 Controllers
9 Tankers
10 Soldiers
11 Masterminds
12 Warshades
13 Peacebringers
14 Stalkers

8. Warshade
9. Soldier

13. Stalker
14. Peacebringers

Really depends on the power set for me. Some I like better that others.

For AT's in general:

All equal above and beyond, then Doms, and blasters last.

Alts on all servers, lvl 50 of every AT:
lvl 50 Heroes on all servers but; Pinnacle, Victory
lvl 50 Villains on all servers but; Guardian, Pinnacle, Triumph, Victory

Out of the last 5-6 posts, Stalker is ranked at the LOWER 3 SPOTS. That is pretty sad. lol

But Stalker is rated 10/10 Melee Damage! You don't like the supposed highest melee damage in the game? :P

Seriously, if we add up all "core" ATs (exclude Epics), Stalker is like dead last. Should this be a concern? I guess Stalker's "Assassin" style just doesn't meet people's expectation of assassins?

I've also seen Peacebringer at the bottom 3 a lot. I don't blame them. PB is very frustrating.

I can see why some people rank Mastermind low because some people just don't like to babysit pets.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

If you don't mind me asking, if you dislike Corruptors so much how did you stand one all the way up to 50?

As for the subjectivity, yes, these lists are clearly opinion based. That said, how one phrases one's opinion makes a big difference to what is communicated.

I like the ATs which are more than just dial-a-number combos, which I find incredibly boring.

1 - Dominator: Very fun, lots of interesting synergies and fun powers to map out

2 - Defender: Best at de/buffing. Fun playstyle.

3 - Corruptor: Not quite as fun as defender but still pretty good

4 - Controller: I would like these more if they hadn't been so uber back in the "City of Controllers" days where everyone was min/maxing them. They have a lot of fun options and are very entertaining to play

******************INSERT BIG GAP***************************

Most of the other ATs

******************INSERT BIG GAP***************************

For the last 3 ATs just not much variety and they tend to degenerate into dial-a-combos. I know some people like them but I find them incredibly boring and wonder how anyone could possibly enjoy playing them. Tank is not on the list because it has enough aggro control issues that it is saved from being pure dial-a-combo. Stalkers and banes are not last because at least they occasionally placate and/or hide and are not purely dial-a-combo. How do people maintain their sanity playing those dial-a-combo characters? Did they get a labotomy? Enquiring minds want to know.

Last - 2: Blaster

Last - 1: Brute

Last - Scrapper

Why not?

1. Scrapper, for the lack of thinking and simple pleasure of dead bodies.
2. Night Widow, for the "Scralker" feel.
3. Brute, SMASH.
4. Tanker, cause dying is for Blasters.
5. Blaster, ironically, because it's fun to laugh as fire rains down upon them.
6. Crab, something about shooting lasers out of robotic arms is fun.
7. Warshade, because you can't deny their coolness.
8. Dominator, because locking down and beating down leaves me with a tingly feeling.
9. Defenders, now, the only reason they're so far down is because I haven't played mine in eons
10. Bane Spider, higher up than a Stalker cause they can hold their ground a bit better
11. Stalker, meh.
12. Peacebringer, only a little experience with these.
13. Fortunata, end hogs.
14. Mastermind, almost no experience to speak of.
15. Controllers, I like big orange numbers.
16. Corruptors, never played one, somehow.
