Your most (ab)used Costume piece?
I discovered a few years ago, while futzing around with the costume tool in an idle moment, that if you combine Reaper with the single-shoulder cape set to Tattered 2, with all the colors matched, you replicate the Strider Hiryu super ninja-scarf-mask effect startlingly well.

Female characters *always* get Stillettos or Thigh High boots. Always. It just looks right, nothing like clambering through rubble, climbing rocks, or fighting off all of their foes in their spiked heels and hose... And usually, midriffs are revealed. And they're at least slim-to-athletic. Then again, I'm a male pig. Oink.
Male characters... no abused parts that come to mind. Whatever they need is what they get. Cloaks, boots, hats... nothing springs out at me as 'oh yeah, I use that all the time.'
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

Since then I often have to stop myself from applying this trick to characters it doesn't suit, just because I like it so much. |

I used to abuse the Thigh High boots/ Flared mini-skirt/ Flared sleeves look, back when the Thigh Highs had flared tops. To me, the use of the flared lines was a pleasing aesthetic. Now that the Thigh Highs are skin tight, I'm not nearly as interested in them. They still get used a bit, but they're not a fave anymore.
If the Steampunk pack male-only boots and jackets were available to females, I would abuse the HECK out of them. Especially the boots, oh my gosh!! Sadly, they're not, and since I never make males, I'll never use those wonderful details.
So, what do I still use a lot of? Well, the items I typically find myself trying to put on characters (before I catch myself and ask 'how about something else this time?') are Platform Boots and the Glam or Long Layers hairstyles. I also tend to use the Neck Chain a lot as either an authentic necklace, or just something to cover the seam.
I like the Neck Cover for Face texture! I use it often - usually to connect clothing from the Chest up to the Neck, like this example:
My most used item ever in the Costume Creator though, is Face 6 for Female characters. I love, love, love that face!

warrior mask for damn near everybody is a hard habit to break.

I don't have a lot of male chars, but each of them *will* have a dedicated barechested costume slot.
I'm a bi perv.
ETA: Also, Sleeves. They're just* so versatile...
*note miniskirt/stilettos combo
Character index
MANY of my characters have the Justice gloves and boots.
@Joshua.
Mutant Chest (Bio-luminescent and Organic Armor)
Warrior Top
Cybernetic Arms and Gloves.
Types of Swords
My Portfolio
All my max-level characters will have a trench coat in one slot
Tonight I just noticed how much I use "Elf Ears" for my characters.
Actions speak louder than Vets.
Thigh high boots
Stiletto boots, usually with full fishnets or shiny tights
Glam hairstyle (though I've been using the arcane hood a lot recently)
Vanguard boots. Something about the design of them I really like. They made part of my main's most-used 'heroic' outfit and getting the Vanguard loyalty pack was a godsend as I can now use them straight out of the costume creator.
They currently are one part of my awesome costume that I've been using one slot of each of my characters.

Female Young Face 6
Spiked Collar (what I use to seperate the sudden cut off of outfits from the neck)
Large Boots (varing styles with a preference towards Heavy Buckle)
Banded Gloves (varing styles with a preference towards Heavy Buckle)
Baggy Socks (how I wish I could have the option to have THOSE sandles but without the baggy socks as well)
Scarf
Belly Tees (I was asking for these before we had them, so now I make lots of use of them)
Chest Detail: Chain 2 (the assymetrical one)...I like it because it adds some unevenness to the characters.
I've tried to branch away from these options, because it has been noted many times by people that all my characters looked alike. But in my defense, I did like the look!
BrandX Future Staff Fighter
The BrandX Collection
Neck chains (heavy) as necklaces
Thigh high boots or stilettos, except for tankers or ninjas, who wear flats
Magic Bolero
Face 20 (female) IIRC
Neck cover "mask"
Galactic Glasses
Bridal (wedding pack) top and skirts of different lengths (not always together in the same costume)
Buckled Leather
That's from memory. There are probably more.

Lately (past year or so?) I've been (ab)using the goggles from the science pack for retro costumes.
- Retro goggles
- Modern goggles
Often on full masks without hair.
Why?
- Because they actually provide some interesting details to the back of the head if no hairstyle is present
- Because the lenses take colors just as well as the mask and is great for approximating full faced theatrical old school silver age identities
- Because when mixed with mask patterns, I can if I want have up to 4 colors on any given character's head
BUT this technique is starting to get a little old for me, so I'm hoping some new costume items that work similarly well but provide a wider range of shapes and feels is forthcoming with Freedom, either free4VIP, for purchase or as part of P-Rewards.
I am soooo guilty!
Big Freaking Barbie Glam Hair!
Thigh High Boots
Bikini Bottoms 2
Stilletto Boots
But...mainly the Glam Hair. Just gotta have it!
Star 6 Chest Detail
Tech Tactical Belt
Brooch 51
Coloring Scheme is also my consistency, 3rd Blue from the left, 3rd Red from the Left, occaisional uses of White (far right selection) mostly in Belt and on Chest Detail.
And of course, Texas in the name. I have 2 throwaway characters without Texas in the name (one created for an event, one created as a joke with a former co-worker) and 2 actually played characters without Texas in the name, although one can be deduced as being mine by color scheme and chest detail.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
