Now why won't anyone notice that I have gone happy and content and optimistic? Instead, people continue to accuse me of complaining too much... When I'm praising the game...

This is the big one for me.

Likening it to Going Rogue is pretty bad imo, considering all of the stuff we got on top of the new sets with going rogue. It also sticks out as a reminder as "Hey you just bought this stuff, but now we will give it away free to our new customers."

Its not working for me.

I'm actually worried they will be useful.

In all of my character's builds, powers and available slots are at an extreme premium.

Incarnate powers are great because they can be added to your entire build without forcing you to make drastic changes, reslot your powers & respec, etc.

We're still playing with legacy design here, where you are forced to take powers that are mechanically worthless to your build in order to access "higher tier" powers in that Power Pool, Epic or Patron Pool that you actually want.

I love designing builds and making choices, trying to squeeze everything into the character that I want - but we've hit a pretty consistent zone here since Inherent Fitness and Incarnates where the game is constantly changing and after a while it really gets tiresome revamping and respeccing your build every few issues for anywhere from a half dozen to a dozen characters (or more!).

I love that the devs are thinking of new fun and cool ideas for more powers and such, but I really wish they'd also implement some better ways to accommodate this stuff in terms of available powers, slots and most importantly the entirely cumbersome and totally unfun respec system we have.

EDIT: And yes, I understand Inherent Fitness gave us more flexibility and freedom in our builds, it was a very welcome addition to the game. It was however, one of those things that should have been done ages ago. Sucking wind constantly as you level up has never been, and never will be an enjoyable experience.

I'm sorry... I can't resist...

Nah, heat management is in the Prescott and Northwood ancillary power pools.

I think it's more annoying for old time players with lots of characters that would love them... but would hate to respec 50 levels of stuff while trying to not mess up your build to try and fit in one or two powers.

Still here, even after all this time!

As far as Afterburner/Long Distance Teleport go, I wouldn't mind if they were also made into temp powers with with a duration/X number of charges one could buy with INF/merits at Wentworths etc.

Its a good idea. They might want to consider going though each person's account history and giving an extra veteran reward token for each major purchase, such as CoV and GR.

Fixed for accuracy.

The people that state their beefs and move on with their lives get positive attention. The ones that keep beating that dead horse no matter the topic will be labeled (correctly) as a malcontent, no matter how much they love the rest of the game. Throw in those that "cry wolf" and threaten to quit the game every time something changes they don't like, yet are still shelling out for the sub, and those folks earn their scorn.

One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

He posted a pic but it's a broken link or something. It was probably a picture of a basket of firecrackers all lit up an ready to "Kaboom"? *Shrug* It was meant to be a joke but the missing pic made it(and the possible firecrackers) fizzle.

Ah.

I used quote again and checked the broken image link.

Apparently the site denies image linking.

Honestly, I contemplated sending the studio a cake when Invul got its buffs but I couldn't find an online bakery that:

A) Had a site that looked reputable enough to give my credit card.
B) Delivered internationally.

If Tankers ever get ironed out I probably will send one, provided I find a means.

I'm really hoping at least one of the energy gun attacks is similar to the "pulse" attack from the Predator plasma weapon - or the photon torpedo effect from Star Trek. Just having only a beam effect would be kind of boring.

This is a really good idea, and for every 2 boosters purchased also.

Boosters aren't really applicable, since in the new system you're still going to need to buy those if you don't have them. But an extra reward token or some free points for having bought CoV way back in the day and GR more recently would be nice.

I'd have to jump on the "we should get something extra for having purchased GR" bandwagon, too. CoV going for free never bothered me, since it had been bought years earlier, but GR is pretty recent which makes it feel wrong. Not that I'm going to lose any sleep over it either.

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

Personally, I'd be happy with getting an equivalent amount of Paragon Points to what I spent to buy Going Rogue. What was that, by the way? $20? Isn't that something like 1600 Points?

Hmm.

Might I propose:

1200 Paragon Points for each Major Retail Code on a player's account?

Major retail code defined as
  • any single City of Heroes prior to Good vs. Evil
  • any single City of Villains prior to Good vs. Evil
  • any single purchase code of City of Heroes / City of Villains OSX
  • any single Going Rogue code

Basically it splits the difference, giving players who have been around and bought CoH, CoV, and GR an extra bonus going forward.

It doesn't matter how much of the game you love, if you only ever post about the 15% or 10% or 1% that pisses you off, you'll come off as a malcontent.
