The game needs to generate revenue in order for the studio to continue to develop it, so it makes sense that they will move to a model that improves their cash flow. I'm more than willing to pay because this is a quality product, I just want to be able to buy those things I specifically want and not play silly games with random item packs and the like.

CoH CCG = NO SALE
A la carte items in store = $$SALE$$
-
See when I look at them I see sort a wide-bottom with no Z-axis at all. That booty don't pop like it should.
-
The pack is quite nice, but the new jeans--at least the femaile versions--are almost unusable. They simply look...wrong somehow.
The rest of the pack offers up some nice pieces, though. -
A very disappointing update indeed. Hopefully the CoL costume pieces will arrive next week.
It would be cool if there was one thing each week, no matter how small, that was new and not a repackaging and/or a discount of an existing item. -
Crazy question but if someone is bothering you repeatedly with the snowball couldn't you just report them to the GMs? If you and the other people they are harrasing did this it would surely result in some action.
-
Sweet, I can make a male gunslinger AND a female hoe using only one costume pack.
-
The problem with your analogy is that you've constructed it specifically to support your opinion that this is not a significant problem, therefore it doesn't reflect the reality for some (many?) of us who were counting on the upfront delivery of reward tokens as an important factor in our enjoyment and acceptance of the new reward program.

Quote:If they fix this problem I will definitely re-subscribe. Acutally, my subscription may never lapse since I have about 6 weeks of time remaining and there very well could be some surprises in store (no pun intended) tomorrow or in coming weeks that will make me change my mind.Yes I'm aware of those things. I'm also aware that it's very possible that in a few months this "problem" or yours with being unable to "front-load" points will be fixed and the Devs may very well have introduced yet another costume set that makes the Celestial set look like crap in comparison.
Quote:I'm just wondering why you'd be willing to risk $250 on this game as of yesterday but not consider it a good "risk" for say 6 months from now. Really I'm mostly just amazed that something like this costume set is worth anyone's effort to sling hundreds of dollars back and forth from the Devs hands. -
Then why are you so outraged? I'm the one who just canceld sub and I appear to be much less excited about it than you are. In fact you are so animated by my decision that you have called it (and therefore me personally) stupid and resorted to shouting. Very interesting...
-
Of course you are aware that we are talking about more than one costume set over the course of time. You are also aware that the costume sets that will be released as part of tier 9 are of the new shiny variety compared to many of the older, less aesthetically pleasing ones.

Quote:So, you are saying that new game features, pricing changes, and other things that the devs make changes to are not a good basis for deciding whether to continue a subscription? To me, it seems very reasonable to consider those things. Core functionality is important, but even a great product can be brought down by peripheral problems.I'm actually suggesting that the Devs are always going to be adding "new things" which people will rather foolishly base their subscription decisions on.
When they announced that the points would be front-loaded, I budgeted to purchase a 1-year subscription and an additional $100 worth of points. This would not quite put me in tier 9, but would set me up to get there next month. This announcement irritates me enough that I will withold that $250...for now... -
More like: they didn't feel it was important enough to devote the resources that would have ensured its readiness before launch. I'm sure at least some effort was made. That doesn't change the fact, though.

Subscription canceled. Fortunately I still have almost 2 months of time left so I can try out Freedom and see if this policy changes. If this gets resolved favorably I will surely renew for a full year.
-
Quote:Interesting...so you are suggesting that I should not make my subscription decision based on the current state of the game, but on the state of the game at some point in the past? I can't see the efficacy in that.A few months ago we didn't even know there would be things called "VIP costume sets" in the first place.
Were you going to keep playing for a while before you knew about those things? -
Extremely disappointing. Since character customization is a high priority for me, and I will now be locked out of the VIP costume sets for several years, I will have to give some serious thought as to whether I will continue my subscription.

Quote:That is excellent news and I thank you for the info! For those asking about Reward Tokens and multimonth subscriptions: As of now, the current plan is for you to receive all of your TOKENS up front however your PARAGON POINTS will be doled out each month on your billing cycle.
Should this change we'll let you know. -
These Facebook Q&As are a real disappointment. They won't answer any questions that haven't already been answered many times before.
-
I'd really appreciate an official response to the question of whether purchasing a long-term subscription plan will result in getting the reward tokens up front. It has been implied on these forums (based on a post by Positron) that under the new program, this will indeed be the case.

Quote:Its a good idea. They might want to consider going though each person's account history and giving an extra veteran reward token for each major purchase, such as CoV and GR.Additionally, giving all VIPs Going Rogue for free doesn't feel fair to those of us who paid for it still fairly recently. At the very least, giving VIPs who owned GR prior to i21 something for it in the way of Paragon Points or a discount in the store is in order, IMO.

Thanks for posting that quote. It makes me much more comfortable that I'll be able to unlock all possible costume sets as I am willing to re-sub for two years after Freedom is released.
