Still, its a better idea than Not-So-Super Packs.

The game needs to generate revenue in order for the studio to continue to develop it, so it makes sense that they will move to a model that improves their cash flow. I'm more than willing to pay because this is a quality product, I just want to be able to buy those things I specifically want and not play silly games with random item packs and the like.

Everyone should put this in their sig. Make it clear that while we are willing to spend money in the store, this sort of exploitative tactic is unacceptable.

The problem with your analogy is that you've constructed it specifically to support your opinion that this is not a significant problem, therefore it doesn't reflect the reality for some (many?) of us who were counting on the upfront delivery of reward tokens as an important factor in our enjoyment and acceptance of the new reward program.

LOL, so, essentially the same as the obsessive over-analysis of the statistics and math underlying the game...oh snap...

If they fix this problem I will definitely re-subscribe. Acutally, my subscription may never lapse since I have about 6 weeks of time remaining and there very well could be some surprises in store (no pun intended) tomorrow or in coming weeks that will make me change my mind.


I can understand where you are coming from. Primarily this is a reaction to the frustration that this announcement has brought and as such may not seem as reasonable to someone who isn't feeling the same level of frustration.

Then why are you so outraged? I'm the one who just canceld sub and I appear to be much less excited about it than you are. In fact you are so animated by my decision that you have called it (and therefore me personally) stupid and resorted to shouting. Very interesting...

Of course you are aware that we are talking about more than one costume set over the course of time. You are also aware that the costume sets that will be released as part of tier 9 are of the new shiny variety compared to many of the older, less aesthetically pleasing ones.

So, you are saying that new game features, pricing changes, and other things that the devs make changes to are not a good basis for deciding whether to continue a subscription? To me, it seems very reasonable to consider those things. Core functionality is important, but even a great product can be brought down by peripheral problems.

When they announced that the points would be front-loaded, I budgeted to purchase a 1-year subscription and an additional $100 worth of points. This would not quite put me in tier 9, but would set me up to get there next month. This announcement irritates me enough that I will withold that $250...for now...

More like: they didn't feel it was important enough to devote the resources that would have ensured its readiness before launch. I'm sure at least some effort was made. That doesn't change the fact, though.

Interesting...so you are suggesting that I should not make my subscription decision based on the current state of the game, but on the state of the game at some point in the past? I can't see the efficacy in that.

Its a good idea. They might want to consider going though each person's account history and giving an extra veteran reward token for each major purchase, such as CoV and GR.

Thanks for posting that quote. It makes me much more comfortable that I'll be able to unlock all possible costume sets as I am willing to re-sub for two years after Freedom is released.
