[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: If you read Second Measure's Producer's Letter for last month, you know that he said our previous record was around 3500 players on a server, concurrently.
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: Our goal for tonight was slightly more humble. 2500 players.
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: We kinda owned that goal...
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: in the face
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: Tonight, on Freedom, we saw over 4000 concurrent players online at one time.
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: As a result of us breaking the record, we will be enabling the "Defender of Primal Earth" Badge on ALL live servers for the remainder of the Memorial Day weekend!
[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: Everyone who logs into City of Heroes until next Tuesday morning will receive this Account Wide Badge, thanks to you, the CoH Community!

Also, Zwilinger fails at spelling:

[Admin] NCsoft_Zwillinger: So congratulations everyone, you've earned not only the Paragon Studio's team gratitude, but also everyone else's who couldn't be hear tonight!

This is what 3700 heroes in a single zone looks like.
Thanks to @EnsonsDeath for the GVE code that made me VIP again!

And following hearing that announcement I crashed with a fatal error. Actually it seems stuck on the fatal error. ::sigh:: still it was interesting if slow.

His first comment in the Admin channel was started as follows:

Goog evening

He can't even spell the easy words.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Z's notice went up while a massive Praetorian incursion was being beaten back from the doorstep of Ft. Darwin. I could swear a cheer went up from the combatants, but a moment later, I got DC'ed.

You guys may have been able to successfully stress test the servers ... but the stress test on my CoH (Mac) Client was a total failure. Simply *moving* while Flying threw an Assertion Failure that killed my Client. After that, it was Goodbye Freedom ... hello Base Editing that I've been putting off far too long!

Speaking of which ... the Base Editor leaks memory like a seive and crashes my Client pretty darn regularly. Possibly related issues...?

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

I'm coming to the conclusion that it is COX + Vista + Nostromo N52 that don't play well together. Useing my COX settings I can play other games all day. Play COX and I risk a full crash to the blue screen while playing. Happened 3 times tonight while trying to do the Praetorian invasion.

I used to think it was just a Nostro + Vista problem but it only ever happens while playing COX.

I had zero lag on the Victory surge, but on the Freedom one, I could bearly move across an unoccupied zone (Galaxy City). I stuck both my accounts in a mission so they could add to the concurrent users total and then took my girlfriend out to dinner.

(The restaurant screwed up her steak the first time and the waitress didn't come back for 20 full minutes, so the manager comped it--got another steak, and I only had to pay for her drink! S'been a good evening! )

Wow, that makes me sad. Guessing significantly more dev/red presence for the Freedom event which makes sense .

On Virtue we just had the spawnages going on, no assistance from the iconics.

Still cool though . Would be really neat to see the Iconics crop up [but not overshadow the players] during an iTrial now to think about it.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to those who were able to make it out to the event. I was catching up on sleep thanks to a busy week and missed it. Thanks again, all.

Thanks to 4000+ who made it the badge is server wide for a week
And you only need it on 1 character per account as it is an account wide badge, 1 gets it the whole account gets it

As of this post they were still hopping thru the 15+ pocket D's giving out steampunk pack codes and yellow titles.

And I filmed some of it on Freedom. Granted, it probably looks more like a Powerpoint Slide Presentation than anything else thanks to the lag, though Black Swan and I had some entertaining banter as I was chasing her around Kings Row.

But then I fell asleep and missed the Pocket D afterparty.

I love the badge artwork too - it covers the blue and red sides of the game, but also has a nice red white and blue thing going on for the "Freedom vs tyranny/Tyrant" theme of the stress test.

The trash talking tonight was pretty awesome too
