I play them but mostly solo. When I'm in groups I usually do stuff that's plotless or minimal plot, so I don't feel like a dick for making everyone sit around while I read dialogue. For stuff like TFs I click through as fast as possible while playing, then go back and read (or even better, read in advance) the story on paragon wiki after beating it.

Quote:I had assumed you meant DP and PB and just accidentally called SR WP.It was meant as general statement regarding all three secondaries.
Ironically, the one click power I was referring to, in all three secondaries was the 'optional' tier 9 power.
I don't think it's uncommon to use tier 9s midcombat, though if you can't wait until a combo has ended to pop your tier 9 then you didn't plan very well TBH (not that I haven't been there). -
Quote:But that's balance via tedium, which is like the number one thing every budding game programmer learns to avoid. Even Nintendo games avoided that.I'd love a filter, so I could roll up Commons with my AE tickets, and make a killing.
Having your inventory fill with 'junk' is - to my mind - a deliberate design decision. You having to manually filter to make room for "new" incoming recipes and salvage is "part of the deal".
IMHO. -
I don't mean to highjack but this seems like a good primary general discussion thread: which primary is best for exemplaring? Keeping in mind that this means Ouro exemplaring and TF/SF exemplaring. Is there any stalker than can solo everything at +0x1/yes/yes?
edit: It's been a long, long time since I played a stalker, so am I even right in my assumption that they're kings of soloing? -
I'm one of those people who use whatever tag matches their outfit. I don't think the help tag is a particularly well thought out tool that will ever actually help anyone, so I don't really feel bad about abusing it either. It's my experience that people who are playing a game don't want their hand held 24/7 but would rather only get help for specific problems, so I ignore the tool which is only useful for 24/7 handholding in favor of the perfectly adequate tools that are used to address specific questions and problems newbies may have - help chat, local/broadcast, or the forums.
I'm willing to have my mind changed on this though, so if you have some heartwarming stories of newbies being helped just because they set their "help me" flag then tell 'em. -
It's funny you write this; I've been hearing the opposite kind of thinking from friends lately. The new raids make buffing more valuable and individual damage less valuable, and Vigilance means that Defenders aren't horrible soloing or on small teams either. I personally don't have an opinion either way, though I do think it's worth pointing out that Corruptors' damage scale isn't too different from Defenders' - it's 0.75 compared to 0.65.

Quote:100% yes. This game's crafting system has a bad UI, a filter system would do a lot to alleviate it.Second, as noted by having to delete common recipe's so often, it would be nice if we could filter out what dropped so say we don't get any common recipes or salvage, training enhancements post level 12 etc if we don't want to. "market influx" it will reduce such salvage, to the point where they become expensive enough that it's worth stopping the filter again to sell them if it comes to that, or you can have your own drop for you.

Quote:That would actually be really fun. Sometimes I just want to make a new character and I'm stumped for a concept, and random name generators are a great source of inspiration.Meanwhile, there are enough superhero name generators on the web that Paragon Studios could incorporate one into the game if this were truly an extensive issue.

Because fiery aura gives a huge boost to damage and also caps fire res. Defense isn't as important when you can load up on purples (which are 2.5x better than oranges) beforehand, so defense sets are out, and the other resist sets only have maybe a damaging aura and a recharge boost compared to FA's damaging aura, Burn, and FE.
It's possible to make an energy or theoretically a dark farm but it's not optimal and the whole point of farms is to get the max xp or tickets/second so... -
I'd prefer those missions just award an account-wide badge upon completion and check to see if you have that badge before bugging you. Your way's still a step up from the status quo though so I'd be happy with it.

Redrawing once every 30 seconds isn't actually "way less clicky" than regen, and that's AFTER arbitrarily not counting a clicky. Besides that, being in the top 3 clickiest does in fact make it "one of the clickiest" as I wrote.
-
Eh, I think you might be overstating it a little here. Six of the empath's powers fit the "healer" mold, including the first 5 they get, not 3. Healing status afflictions, boosting regen and resurrecting are all things healers/priests/white mages do. There's more to empaths than healing, sure, but if someone asked what the healing class in CoH is then it'd more accurate to say empath than to say there is none.

Quote:That doesn't seem specific to DB though, that's /Elec paired with anything. For secondary, I hear great things about DB/Electric. Great as in it puts out a metric asston of damage, great end management, and decent survivability.
I personally don't like /Elec with weapon sets because it's one of the clickiest secondaries. Redrawing every 15 seconds isn't my thing.
Just to be clear, I don't think it's the worst pairing in the world either. Both sets love recharge and Lightning Reflexes helps with that. DB has good AoE and paired with Lightning Field I'm sure you can wade through tons of minions without having to individually each one. Sweep buys time for Energize to recharge or for its fat regen bonus to work, etc etc. -
Quote:Why, it's almost as if different players have different opinions about the issue.Back in the day, TF team size and level requirements were designed to be restrictive enough that only teams that were almost certainly strong enough to complete the TF could start it.
Players complained that the requirements kept them from starting the TF with a team that was strong enough to finish it, and that they should be allowed to decide for themselves whether they have enough firepower to complete a TF.
The developers now have created a TF whose team size and level requirements are quite lax, and let the players decide for themselves whether they have enough firepower to complete the TF.
Now players are complaining that it is possible to start the TF with a team incapable of finishing it, and the developers should tighten the requirements so that only teams that are almost certainly strong enough to complete the TF can start it. -
I've been on a team that couldn't take him down as well. Very frustrating end to a long TF. I think the problem was either too few players or we were too low level - my character was only 21, for example, so didn't even have SOs.

The ethical dilemma is: is it OK to form an opinion of a mission, and then vote based on that opinion, without ever having played it? To me that seems a little bit unfair so I'm not going to go around doing it, but I don't think it's something that should keep you up at night if you decide to vote them down.

Quote:It's awesome. Makes IOing yourself out more expensive though obviously.5 - The Bane does have the option for a complete dual build to Crab/Huntsman to switch to "AoE mode" instead. How well does this work out though?
Does mace's disorient cause mobs to wander out of range of AAO and hurt your damage bonus? I don't have enough experience with mace to know if this is a valid con or not. -
One thing to notice is that there's an insp vendor right there in AE. I felt really dumb once I had that pointed out to me. There's no reason not to have 4 purples and a whole lot of reds active when you enter the map.

Make the bought/sold auction information visible at the character select screen. I know it could encourage people to use alts as auction mules, but auction slots are already limited based on level and badges so it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
I don't mean to open a can of worms but I'd also like to see fewer perma-able clickies and more toggles or long-recharge clickies. The later two ways just make for smoother gameplay IMHO, YMMV, etc.
