A rather excellent selection of beer (no idea about the lager situation) however they do no food. Additionally, the only big screen displays the beer list rather than footy.

The Pork Scratchings (forget being healthy) are to die for. Honest...

Thanks for the recommendation

I've a feeling I'll be dining at least one night at the Wetherspoons that's across from the old Omega Sektor building. I know it's a Mc Pub, but their veggie food wasn't actually too bad last time, and they serve a nice coffee

My advice for accommodation: don't stay at the Travelodge Birmingham Central. Based on my stay there for the Omega Sektor meet it's an utter dump and you will only get about an hour's sleep if you are lucky. When the hotel's own website even warns you that "there may be some street noise" you better damn well believe there will be street noise, even if you are on the 6th floor.

I stayed at the Macdonald Burlington hotel last year, and all I can say is: Don't stay there unless you can sleep through the noise of air conditioning units going on and off 24/7. They were very loud and kept me awake the entire weekend I think if the noise had been continuous it wouldn't have been too much of a problem, but they were switching on and off every few minutes.

Their idea of a 'disabled/wheelchair access' room involved a step outside in the hallway too, and a bath so narrow that sitting down was almost impossible!

That's looking good to me - thanks for mentioning it.

Anyone out there able to say what times it's planned to start/end?

I'm aiming to start about 10am on the Saturday morning, and finish around 4pm on the Sunday (or whenever folks get bored and want to go home).

Not sure yet if a few folks would like to meet up on the Friday night and maybe go to Wetherspoons or somewhere (needs wheelchair access if I'm going).

Why did it have to be Birmingham? I hate that place.

I suppose i'd not be missing much, a lot of the guys I know from Union left the game, and theres a good portion of the RP community that still hates me for saying @&#%! before 11pm.

Memrobelia 07, the group i was with got there early, not many people were around, so we got bored, and went up to the christmas market instead, and Mossy tried to throw Ommy into a fountain. If Zortel ever says she's met me, she's lieing, we apparently left 10 minutes before she showed up, dont trust her!

Omega Sektor i missed out on, because i was working. (putting up a lighting rig for a crappy vince vaugn cristmas movie, if i remember right.)

When a few guys came down to london, I missed it, because i ended up with my wrists tied to a bed about 20 minutes before i was meant to leave the house.

One of these days, i'll actualy manage to make it to a meetup.

Get your legs out Mac! It was only a 10 minute stroll.

Those streets were poorly and clearly under redevelopment but boy were they nice and quiet, hardly any traffic and plenty of calm for a long night sleep, hey?

Paragon Hotel reservation booked! And at a discounted price of £45 per night for two nights.

Breakfast included so Damsel'll be happy. Hopefully I can get out of the boring town strolls doing window shopping.

I feel the same about car boot sales. Damn it I can only fit one boot to my wife's car (I'm a biker so no car).

Well, I finally got transport sorted. Looks like i'm being driven around

Now ... for the other details ...

I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...

Seffs is devising a far more cunning plan.

Notably, not bothering to sleep. Last years' overnighting was rather fun, after all.

In your dreams, I'll still be there with all the days that never came.
And I'll be just a story.
That's ok, we're all stories in the end...

Well I have booked my stay and ordered my tickets. Same plan as last time although maybe I'll try sleeping the night before instead of staying up as I crashed out when I got to the hotel....

... I said maybe
