Thank you Lloyd of NCSoft support

Hey all,

I know we are not supposed to talk about any dealings or issues regarding NCSoft support. I do however think I won't get banned for this.

Due to a problem they had, they were able to restore some verifiably lost emails I had.
Lloyd even went above and beyond and was able to recover some more lost items due to problems.

I can't go into the full story because that might not be good.

Just wanted to thank him and thank NCSoft for the fantastic above and beyond support.

Perhaps the Community Relations team can get word over to Texas about how nice a job Lloyd did.

Way to go Lloyd!

While I'm at it I'll just use this moment to say every interaction I've had with in game support has been very positive and helpful. I feel like the devs and OCR team get a lot of love, but perhaps it's time to share some love for the in game support as well!

Gonna just heartily agree with ya. He and another GM were quite helpful in an issue I had recently.

NCSoft got an awesome support team.
I will not go with details, but they also helped me in a BIG, BIG way recently...
BTW, I was thankful with the GM who took care of my issue.
Keep the good job!

Actually I think Lloyd has helped me on the rare occasion when I've had issues too. So kudos to Lloyd and all the other folks doing a great job patrolling our bug reports and helping our petitions

Well done! I've always found NCsoft support useful... but ONLY if you can get them past the first canned response. But gratz on you getting your issue resolved.

Hopefully they'll be as good with mine that's pending!

I've gotten Sven on several occasions and I can't say enough good things about him- he's quick, knows exactly what you're asking and is all in all just what you want in a game gm.

My best experience was on that blasted timed CoT mission where you have to rescue 20 hostages with a time limit. I couldn't find the last one, so I sent a petition- the gm was on her way to the spot where the last hostage was when SHE D/Ced. Luckily I was watching her on the map, went to the area and got the guy. She popped back on about 20 minutes later apologizing greatly if her D/C caused a mission fail. I just thought that was really good Service recovery and customer service!

GM Lloyd helped me out recently as well, and sent me a nice email response detailing my situation and resolved it.

Nothing outright special.
Just some lost INF and a few presents due to maintence error.

The real suprise was something that I had screwed up on and he was able to retrieve that.

GM Lloyd is awesome.
He also wrote the "Behind the Walls" column for the City Scoop.

I was going to mention this as well. Makes me wish City Scoop was back, in some form or another. I heard talk of a quarterly news thing requesting submissions, but haven't seen anything materialize yet.

Lloyd once responded to my email calling me Greg. My name is not Greg.

/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

GM Lloyd is a pretty cool guy. He fixes game problems and doesn't afraid of anything.

"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict

There is/was a Titan Network project similar to the Scoop, but it's been pushed back with several developers leaving, setting up new Mids' developers, and then the addition of Titan Sentinel.

It's still there, but not ready yet and it's been pushed to the sideline. (Unfortunately )

GM Lloyd has been a big help for me in the past, going above and beyond is apparently just business as usual for him.

Actually I was talking about this one - and I guess they did post something, more of an art/AE/fiction showcase than the Scoop. From the posts I thought it was intended to be more than that. Maybe more is to come?

If Lloyd calls you Greg, then your name is Greg.

Never question Lloyd.

DUring GR's release it was possible to be defeated and then respawn outside of the tutorial area before you made a faction choice. This meant you didn't get your faction contact (Marchand/other guy) and had to manually discover new contacts.

Lloyd was one of the helpful folks who assisted me, eventually, and even took my frustration at having to re-explain my situation in stride. I think I had to explain it 3 times to 2 different people, and despite my best efforts at covering all the "Troubleshooting 101" early on I still was getting the treatment.

My most memorable experience is still getting Gilgamesh to fix a problem for me. Door mission spawned with no door. I got excited and told my nearby friends that it was cool speaking to a Police Drone but no one could see him except me.

Has anyone seen Gilgamesh lately or is he one of the red names that are no longer with us anymore?

These days, my experience with City of Heroes is pretty bug free, or I know the relevant workarounds. But during my first few months, I had some problems--granted, they were almost always the result of user error.

I dealt with GM Lloyd several times, and want to add to the chorus, he's above and beyond professional in every sense of the word. Dude knows his stuff.

Support for City of Heroes has room to improve. But on average, time and time again, City of Heroes support has proven to be the best I've ever experienced in any MMORPG (and I've been playing MMOs for over a decade).

One time, my computer caught on fire and exploded while playing City of Heroes, and I wrote to support to complain about a possible bug (exploding computers). GM Lloyd responded by sending me a copy of the Malleus Mundi, which I used to bend reality to my own will, thereby un-exploding my computer.

I've dealt with Llyod with a similar problem. He asked me what toon I wanted the items to go to. I guess he didn't see the e-mail the next day or wasn't in, because another GM sent me a response. However, that response was meant for another player (whoever it was for, they got the Venturesome badge. gratz ). A little later though he gave me the items back. So thank you GM Llyod and GM Roland.
