It's been 6 years and I still...
Talk about a dev bait, 2 non-active posters at once
One thing I still do is segregate my power tray; All of one power set must be on same tray and must all be next to each other and my veteran powers are not aloud on my core 3 power trays.
Oh yeah! And on each server with heroes I MUST have one of each AT and one of each origin.
-would rather die in an ITF, STF, or any other situation then pop large inspirations...just in case (the thought does not even occur to me)
-have 10 times as many builds in Mids as I have characters, all of them with sets, yet if I choose to make a new character with the same powersets as one of those builds, I still have to do a new one because "What was I thinking when I made this?"
-Have yet to finish a concept in base editing. I start, I do fantastic things, but it never gets quite done, before I loose interest and decide to go smack people around.
-Cannot stand playing scrappers, they feel slow next to brutes.
-Have not played any of the epic ATs past 20
-Have not played stalkers past 8
-Have not run the 4th TF in the Shadow Shard
-Have not even attempted the Cavern of Trancendence trial since getting the badge on my original badger.
-Still cringe when told to go places such as the Hollows or Perez Park, though am also still grateful for the learning experiences I recieved from these places, in the early days of the game. Now I can take a level 2 to Portal Corps, and the only thing that might hit me along the way is a sniper.
-Have never chosen the badge at the end of a villain respec trial.
-Have never succeeded on a LRSF
I'm sure I could list a thousand more XD
@Incarnadine - 50s on Victory:
Electric-Boogaloo (Electric/Psy Dominator) | Floating Flame (Fire/Psy Blaster) | Guldo Golem (Stone/Mace Tanker) | Hornak (Elec/Elec Brute) | Insatiable Greed (Demon/Dark Mastermind) | Solar Explorer (Plant/Thermal Controller) | TimeTraveler (Kin/Ice Defender) | Verranil (Emp/Archery Defender)
On my keyboard it's easier to find the F1 key than any other function key, so I put greens in the column corresponding to that key. Being able to quickly use a green will save your life: milliseconds count!

F1 - Green
F2 - Blue
F3 - Purple
F4 - Red
F5 - BF
The rest are unimportant enough to do by clicking
I order my inspirations by column too. First is always healing, last is always endurance. Usually that's all my bar is, first few healing, rest endurance.
I always close the 'combine enhancement' window then reopen it rather than waiting for the animation to finish.
I always bind my most-used powers to page up and page down, any clicky buffs go on f9-f12, starting at f12.
also after 4 years,
- I have only done 1 Shard TF and 1 SF
- Have only 2 lvl 50s
- Click on Lower Body to find belts
- Limit my power choices constantly due to 'concept'
- Never use the 2 Tutorial Inspirations unless I am a quarter inch from death in the final room of a story arc or TF
- Gotten a Tank or a Troller above Level 20
- Gotten a Villain above Level 35
- Never used a build planner or even really planned a build in any way, shape, or form.
- Never found a good reason to go to Boomtown or Galaxy
Tatterdamalion 50 AR/Dev Liberty /Defiance 1.0 for Life...uh Death!!!!
Genghis Connie 50 MA/SR Liberty /What do you mean Hami ignores Defense?
I still haven't gotten a tank, blaster, or any villain past the teens. I still haven't succeeded at the Abandoned Sewers Trial.
I still organize my inspirations, just like so many people.
I still think "run in and hit them" is a good plan A, and "run in and hit them some more" is a good plan B, after plan A leads to a team wipe.
I still can't remember which SO does what for any origin but mutation, which used to be the main reason my characters were always mutants.

After 3 years, I still...
- Run at x1/+0 difficulty.
- Have never played a Defender, Stalker, or Warshade.
- Forget about that Kronos Titan ambush in the middle of Crimson's arc until it's right on top of me.

My Webcomics
....totally and utterly geek out when I'm flying (and it has to be with a cape).
....buy IO sets at 50 because the name sounds cool and it suits my character and I do not give a damn if it doesn't max me out.
....keep revising the costumes on my characters to get them 'just so', making me think that I am distantly related to Janet van Dyne, except a lot taller and a lot poorer.
....surprise myself at the apparent obviousness of some Primary/Secondary pairings and think 'well DUH...that'd be a brilliant character!'
....find myself distracted by shinies on other games, only to come back and find that they offer me better shinies here.
.....don't mind having mitten hands, because so many of the costume options make me look so damn good.
....haven't figured out how to end a decent forum post.

@Caucasiafro
Make almost exclusively Magic-oriented characters. That has only changed with Praetoria, as there are no magic-based enemies, and therefore no magic enhancements being dropped.

I filled up almost all my slots on nearly every server but I still only have one lvl 50 character.
Stands up: Hello, My name's Cptn. Courageous (among others) and I'm an Alta-holic...

It inspired me to make - Mouse Traps!

I just thought of an odd one for me. I still horde all of the temp powers I can. For some reason I can never bring myself to use the last few minutes or last charge on any power, even if they're beyond useless, like rocks. Instead I have a compulsion to have them stuck in my power list until it takes a minute or so to scroll down to the bottom of the inherent and temporary power boxes and becomes near impossible to find any specific temp power I want.
Friends are just enemies that haven't betrayed you yet.
Inspirations are organized in the tray based on color and size, with offensive to the left, defensive in the middle, and healing / awakens to the right. Larger Inspirations go at the top, so as to not accidentally use it.
|
The correct order is clearly Healing -> Offensive -> Defensive -> Blues -> Awakens/Breakfrees. Largest on the bottom with the Awakens and Breakfrees arranged one after the other to expedite rezzing and prevent accidental BF usage.
And of course:
Blue: ~Knockback Squad on Guardian~
Red: ~Undoing of Virtue on [3 guesses]~
HEATHEN.

However, somebody must have contacted you since the last letter was published, as you appear to have organised your awakens and break frees correctly.
- I still, on occasion, log in my tank and enter a mission without toggling up.
- All my fliers seem to have a sick fascination with smashing their faces into the corners of buildings en route to a mission.
- Until I19, I was never able to make a blaster that wasn't able to suck endurance through a firehose at 500 meters. With end reduction enhancements and stamina. Without sprinting or flying in combat.
- I obsessively arrange *COLUMN* 5 of my inspiration tray to be a rez chain: Wakie on the bottom, Break Free above that, CAB above that, Green above that. That way, when I die (which I frequently do on my rise to godhood), I just press F5 until I'm up, healed, and charged. Then I run as fast as I can while screaming like a three-year-old girl on a playground.
- I double-tap my powers so that I'll immediately get a new target in case someone else kills mine. Twitchy, that habit; and it's gotten some inadvertent aggro on more than one occasion.

All my characters
It's been almost 7 years for me, and I still can't get Boomtown vs Brickstown straight in my head, or Founders Falls vs Faultline. Sitting here right now I know which is which, but when a random mission pops up in one or the other I frequently go to the wrong one.

My inspirations are ordered by columns too, but not like everyone elses':
Column 1: Alternating yellow and red.
Column 2: Greens
Column 3: Alternating purple and orange, or all purple.
Column 4: From bottom to top: Awaken-Breakfree-purple-green-blue
Column 5: Blues
Columns 3 and 4 are interchangeable, and the order of Column 4 allows me to rez, shakeoff the stun effect, defend myself, heal myself and restore my endurance in rapid succession - hopefully before I get defeated again.
