At the bottom of the body-parameters sliders list, in the costume creator, there's a blue box that says something like, "Show face sliders". You can adjust the face parameters there.

I like the default female face - very wide-eyed and sweet. But the default male face and body look like a ripoff of Mr. Incredible from "The Incredibles".

    Confessions

My confession is that I'm not interested in the remaining days of the game. In my defense: imagine that you own a building that's been irreversibly condemned; nothing you do can save it from being torn down. It'd feel pretty futile to work on the building, wouldn't it? Any improvements, additions, etc. would just end up hauled off with the rest of the rubble. That's how I feel about CoH right now. I could work on getting another toon to 50--or closer to it--or try to get a purple-recipe drop to sell, or make a new toon. But, no matter what I do, it all vanishes before dawn of December 1st. Even if I heard that they made all accounts VIP, and made everything in the store available to all for free for the last month, it'd still feel futile. When I tried bringing back Pumpkinette, my usual Halloween-event toon, for this year's event (it's supposed to be Fusionette, who painted herself orange and dyed her hair green to trick-or-treat as a pumpkin), I just got no joy from being in-game. My mind keeps saying, "You know, you have other things to do that won't vaporize in a few weeks." Does anyone else experience this?

    MA license?

So, with the IO and auction-house 30-day licenses costing $2 (160 points) each, the player who just wants MA access has to subscribe or otherwise shell out a lot more money, and pay for a bunch of other stuff that he doesn't necessarily want, and gets royally hosed. Swell.

    MA license?

Is there a Mission Architect 30-day license (or however long) that one can buy in the Market, to be able to run a toon in MA for benefit? I tried searching "license" and got just the AH and Invention licenses. Searching "architect" only came up with the mission-slot offers.

I decided it was a good adjunct to Light Form and took the two mediocre fillers (Placate and Intimidate) to get it.
When you're an in-over-his-head squishy run by a casual player, anything that removes an opponent from the equation, however briefly, is hardly mediocre. Hold, Stun, Knockback, Placate, Fear, whatever; if they had weight, they'd be worth their weight in gold when the fight starts to go south.
  6. Thanks, all, for the comments and suggestions. Kosmos, I see that, in your sample build, six of the primary-set attacks have two Accuracies each. The stats in Mids' show that, once you reach 22 and can slot SOs, one Accuracy SO will take you to 99%+ on a power having a base accuracy of 1.00 (75%). If that's the case, then it seems to me that, once you reach 22, the second Accuracy could be replaced with more EndRdx, with negligible accuracy loss. Or am I missing something? Thanks again.
  7. Hello. I've been looking online for advice, ideas and/or builds on how best to make a human-only PB without using IO sets. I'd prefer SO-based (money being a little tight); such responses would also help those players who can't (yet?) use IOs. But I'll consider regular IOs, if I have to. Also, I mostly solo (which is good, because folks seem to be getting mighty scarce on Protector, these days), so best soloable would be great. If someone has, or knows of, a useful build viewable online, I'd appreciate being pointed in that direction.

Please do NOT clutter the responses (if any) with "advice" to "forget it, and go bi-form or tri-form", or to "stop being cheap, and use sets". Replies like that are a big part of what has made it so hard to find help on this.

I realize that the solo/human/SO restrictions will probably not yield many responses, but I'm hoping that someone out there is up to the challenge. I also know that such a toon won't be as strong as a set-based one, but that's the task I've set.

Thank you for your time, and for any help.
  8. I'd like more costume colors--even those that, as I understand it, we don't get because they're close to "skin color", and the devs don't want us making nekkid-looking toons. I'd very much like to make a cowboy in a tan trenchcoat (if I can't get an actual duster), but the right shade of sandy/dusty brown just isn't there.

Also, speaking of trenchcoats, could we, please, get a cloth one? I tried to make a Mike-Hammer type of private eye, but he looked ridiculous in a suit and leather trenchcoat, no matter the color. Thanks.
  9. Pardon if this has already been beaten to death here. Running my Archery/Trick-Arrow corruptor in DFB, I find that, when he takes damage from the fire pits or electrical fields, he STOPS there, taking damage while he cranks off an arrow at nothing. I have no target selected when it happens, nor do I have a power queued. A fix would be appreciated, before it gets someone's toon unnecessarily dead. Thanks for your time.
  10. Would an acceptable overview be: Accuracy enhancements make the weapon more accurate, and ToHit buffs make you a better marksman?

    AR/Traps w/o IOs

So far, my experience is that he's as squishy as a blaster, and goes through endurance like a tank. And DPS can be best described by slightly misquoting "Blazing Saddles": "Don't shoot them; you'll only make them mad." Soloing him, I find I have to rest and recover after every group. What really helps is if I can avoid getting the attention of more than about two opponents at once. Maybe I'm just too used to the relative efficiency of blasters. Thanks.

    AR/Traps w/o IOs

Hello. I'm trying to run an AR/Traps corruptor. I've looked through various forums for builds, but all the ones I've found call for IO sets. My account will be going f2p, and I won't be able to use IOs. Can someone point me toward an AR/Traps build that uses DOs/SOs, please? Thank you for your time, and for any helpful information I can get. (And, no, "Stay VIP and use IOs" isn't helpful. )
  13. Thanks for the suggestions so far, everyone. With "Smallville", is there a particular season in which they started getting serious about the whole superhero thing? In other words, are there early seasons I could skip, or was Clark doing superheroism from the start? On "Heroes" and "Alphas", they come off as wanting the characters to be just people with extraordinary abilities, and shying away from the costumed-crimefighter bit. On "No Ordinary Family", the father actually patrolled and fought crime, so that show came closer to being superheroes, and I'm looking for straight-out superheroes.
  14. Two entertainments I love are space science fiction, and superheroes. I've started collecting both on DVD, and have decided that, with there not being many live-action superhero TV shows at all, I'd better look into the animated shows. Can anyone make recommendations as to what shows to get? I've seen some of "Batman: The Brave and the Bold", so I know that's good (aside from the non-serious/comical episodes). I'd prefer the serious/gritty kind, and nothing like "The Super Hero Squad Show", PLEASE! I'll consider any superhero, solo or teamed. Also, if you know of live-action shows besides the '60s "Batman", the '70s "Wonder Woman", the '80s show "The Flash", and "Birds of Prey", I'd love to hear about them, too. Thanks, all.

    I need a name

Upon further thought, he WOULD need limitations. He has to concentrate to maintain something in its altered state, and it costs him energy. The greater the change he effects, the greater the area affected, or the longer it lasts, the more it drains him. He'd be a lawful hero, so it would matter to him whether or not he did lasting damage. When he alters something, it can eventually revert to its pre-alteration state. but the more solid it started as, the longer the reversion takes, and the more likely it will be left damaged, unless he puts more energy into restoring it, tiring him more. And, since he has to concentrate to keep something altered, he can't divide his focus and, for instance, air-cage several bad guys who are splitting up. That's just off the top of my head, so he may need further limiting.
As for naming, non-power-specific choices I had were, for instance, Delta, because the Greek letter "delta" stands for "change" in mathematical formulae, and he changes matter. Or a generic name, like Castle (because I like chess, and it sounds strong without being odd). Such a name could be a red herring to finding out his civilian identity.

    I need a name

I was thinking about superhero powers, and came up with an idea for one. I've not heard of it before, but for all I know, there might be an established character out there like this. My idea was of a hero who works by...I guess you'd say he affects the energy state and density of materials. He can make something - air, an object, an area - freezing cold, or flaming hot, by reducing or increasing the molecules' movement rate. He can do such things as make a force field, of sorts, by increasing air density at a location to solidity (which provides a mode of travel - solid-air platform); reduce a wall to such low density as to be able to walk through it; and turn solid pavement to the concrete equivalent of quicksand. And, of course, he can restore the things he affects to their original state, but it might take a bit more effort. But I haven't yet been able to come up with a good codename for him. Something related to the powers would be great, but I'm open to suggestions. (No, there's no money in this, so don't hold back on the hope of being written into a contract, or something. This is just a mental exercise on my part.) Thanks for your time, and have fun.
  17. Thank you, Aggelakis. I just don't see why they decided to lock Devices blasters, for instance, into Web Grenade, when they could have allowed us to skip it and immediately take the far-more-useful Caltrops. I'm making an Archery/Trick-Arrow corrupter, and I wish I could bypass Entangling Arrow in favor of Flash Arrow. It's kind of like they thought, "If we don't force them to take Web Grenade, then no one will." It's a puzzlement.
  18. I know that all ATs are set up to have to take the tier-1 power in the secondary power set. What I'd like to know is why it's required.
  19. Have the devs ever offered a rationale as to WHY we're forced to take the tier-1 secondary power? As opposed to, say, making the tier-1 and tier-2 powers available at level 1, like the primary? I would love to be able to skip things like Web Grenade and Entangling Arrow if I could. Thanks.
  20. Oh, and a sonic primary for dominator, too!

For one reason, because some of us enjoy soloing. I looked into making a sonic/sonic, but, if I recall correctly, the defender primary has only three powers you can use while soloing, and the corrupter secondary has only four. I would enjoy having sonic secondaries for blaster and dominator. And I'm sure others have their preferred power sets.
(And, no, I didn't misspell "corrupter"; the game does, just as it does "judgment".)
  22. As far as I can tell, it highlights only the last OBJECT you need to find - glowie, etc., as well as bad guys in red (for "defeat all"). To my knowledge, I have yet to see it indicate a hostage's whereabouts.
  23. Is there a difference between VIP-turned-Premium (having subscribed for, say, just one month) and Free-turned-Premium (having spent even one dollar just to become Premium)? I was told that there isn't, but I would have thought that they'd offer former VIPers more, so as to encourage players to subscribe, even for a while. Thanks.
  24. Is there a reason the rapiers, in Dual Blades, aren't tintable? I have a dashing-swordsman type character named Goldblade, for whom I wanted twin, gold-bladed rapiers. But the rapiers can't be tinted at all - at least, in no way that I can find. He's having to settle for the main droit and main gauche as the closest I can get to duelling/fencing weapons that can live up to his name. I hope this can be fixed. Thank you for your time.
  25. I don't know if anyone else has this problem. Since the release of I21, I've had several instances of the program shutting down on me while I'm transiting - zone to zone, into my SG base, boarding the train, etc. Bad enough soloing, but a real inconvenience while teamed. Getting this fixed would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
