AR/Traps w/o IOs
Personally I would suggest you just compare Corruptor VS Defender.
Just bring them up side by side and look at the numbers. You will see that Defenders get better Debuff values from powers and better defense numbers. If you look at the base value of full auto you will see that the difference is 16 points in favor of Corruptors.
The advantage is with all the defense powers slotted with 3 SOs you will almost be defense capped. If you pick up scorpion shield you can be capped to Smash Lethal and Energy and just having purple inspirations will cap you to everything else.
Being in SOs I think you would be better off being defender and having the ability to widdle away the mobs via greater defense debuffs values and being closer to defense cap then a corruptor can.
Again no rocket science here just pull up mids and look at the numbers. I think that protection will out weigh the dps increase.

1. Don't use DO's as it is a waste of influence.
2. SO's can be found on the auction house at good bargains. Snatch them up before you become F2P. Cheaper than buying them from NPC stores.
3. Defenders have better Trap values, but Corruptor scourge helps a lot with SO builds. It is up to you based on preferences.
So far, my experience is that he's as squishy as a blaster, and goes through endurance like a tank. And DPS can be best described by slightly misquoting "Blazing Saddles": "Don't shoot them; you'll only make them mad." Soloing him, I find I have to rest and recover after every group. What really helps is if I can avoid getting the attention of more than about two opponents at once. Maybe I'm just too used to the relative efficiency of blasters. Thanks.

You shouldn't be as squishy as a blaster once you pickup FFG or seeker drones to soak up alphas (which comes much later). Assault Rifle is an AoE set and you haven't picked up the heavy hitters (Flamethrower, and Full Auto) yet or even Ignite.
Using SO's there are several ways to slot attacks:
2 ACC, 3 DAM, 1 END
1 ACC, 3 DAM, 1 END, 1 RECH
2 ACC, 2 DAM, 1 END, 1 RECH
For an Assault Rifle corruptor using SO's my opinion is don't bother going for recharge for flamethrower, buckshot, grenade launcher. Having at least 1 rech SO in Full Auto though makes a difference. But an additional RECH is not worth giving up DAM or ACC for.
If you notice though all variations have at least 1 END reduction SO (out of six slots). Yes, six slotting attacks is a good idea if you are using SO's.
From there you can determine what else you need to put end reduction in, but your priority is to put end reducers in the attacks first.
Most importantly put two additions slots into stamina, to have three END MOD's.
Traps is a very endurance heavy set for corruptors. Your best bet is picking up a endurance recovery power from the epic or patron power pools. If your go villain you might want to pick up MU Mastery as power sink is the first power choice.
Also I would suggest slotting 1 end redux in all your heavy used powers when you can. So full auto should be 1 end redux, 2 accuracy, 3 damage.
If you can get away with that for example then I would go mace mastery to get close to capping something out defense wise via scorpion shield. Though doing it as a defender you would be capped in just about everything. You would just need 1 purple inspiration to cap out with a defender. But at least this way your capped out to S/L and have something going while you try to make a purple or wait for one to drop during the fights.

Hello. I'm trying to run an AR/Traps corruptor. I've looked through various forums for builds, but all the ones I've found call for IO sets. My account will be going f2p, and I won't be able to use IOs. Can someone point me toward an AR/Traps build that uses DOs/SOs, please? Thank you for your time, and for any helpful information I can get. (And, no, "Stay VIP and use IOs" isn't helpful. )
