Trapdoor is getting harder.

Yes, but I don't know their INTENT. I can only perceive the RESULTS.
What I see, is that a choice has been taken away from us.

bifurcation spawn rate wasn't fast, and each time it came up I defeated the spectre within a couple of seconds,

all were at -1 difficulty except for the 3x elec which was at 0 (and is the only one with any purple IOs: a stun set at the time). They all have numerous IO sets and nary a single SO among them.

I never pulled him out of the room but did knock him into the lava almost every time. It's not my fault he's too stupid to get out quickly.

Dunno what all the hubbub is about.
I wonder if the difficulty setting might have something to do with how fast the bifurcation recharges.
My Robots/Traps Mastermind was having a few issues with Trapdoor when I ran the mission.
I did beat him, eventually.
I set the bots to attack Trapdoor, dropped an Acid Mortar (which was made irrelevant in 3 seconds because of knockback)
I concentrated on the clones, which were summoned faster than 1 every 30 seconds.
My difficulty was set for more than the equivalent of just 1 player as well.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

I sent my Bots after him. He went down quickly as they knocked him into the lava. But I have to make a bind / macro to find his body to rip the shard from him.

I'm stil waiting for the fanfic this thread title promises but fails to deliver - although I think that might be partly because there's no obvious pairing for him in that arc - it gives us Silos/Ramiel, Hero 1/Holtz and Statesman/The Well, but Trapdoor is kinda on his own in the mission when it comes to other characters.

No, you can get beat on by more mobs than anyone else, but that is not tanking.

It's only tanking if you and your entities are keeping the attention of the mobs despite teammates beating on them.

Oh well, at least I was able to get some of my squishes through the arc.
There are Many options that would allow you to defeat him.

I am, frankly, absolutely certain that I could solo him on a traps def.

Nah, it's Trapdoor/Trapdoor. Er. Trapdoor/Trapdoor/Trapdoor. Trapdoor/Trapdoor/Trapdoor/Trapdoor/Trapdoor/Trapdoor... Trapdoor.

He's pretty much a soloist.

Wait a second.

I just realized something about this thread makes NO SENSE.

There are people suggesting that Pulling would still be an allowable, valid tactic IF THE REGEN BUFF WAS NOT LOS BOUND OR THE CLONES FOLLOWED HIM TO THE HALLWAY.

HOW would pulling be a useful tactic if the regen buff penetrated the walls or the clones followed? Why would ANYONE pull at all if that was the case?

The people suggesting those changes are asking for pulling to be neutered EVEN MORE.

Do you have a Kickstarter account for this? I'd love to chip in.

Both, as well as the fact that the poster didn't use a Phoenix Wright meme.

I did this on my SS/Invuln Brute on +4/x2 and mopped the floor with him once I saw all I had to do was kill his clones. I just rounded them up about 2-3 of them at a time and plowed through them, then engaged him immediately after I got the last clone down. He dropped quickly after that.

HOWEVER, I don't see why it's a problem if people figure out a good tactic to use to avoid having to fight the clones. I don't see what the difference is. If you WANT it to be harder, then Pro Tip: DON'T USE THOSE TACTICS. Do it as a stand up fight if you prefer.

I really don't see why this needs to be fixed.
