Is everyone making EVERY 50 an Incarnate ?
I've made 3 of my 5 50s Incarnates so far (two of those are the same character with different powersets). I intend to make at least one of the other two Incarnate at some point. So I guess I probably am making every 50 an Incarnate.
Logically, you've answered your own question - if you are not making every one of your 50s an incarnate, then you are someone not making EVERY 50 an Incarnate, ergo not everyone is making EVERY 50 an Incarnate.
Semantic bantering aside, I'll probably end up making all of my 50s incarnates eventually. It's mostly a matter of who first, and how much effort gets put into gathering shards. I also don't have an inexhaustible roster of 50s (7, I believe. 2 have completed the arc and one has an Alpha Boost slotted)
for now, as it is new, there will be lots of incarnates running around. but that's just the alpha slot. as more of the incarnate slots are introduced, the group of truly 'incarnate' will emerge along with a larger group with some incarnate abilities. how fast or the spread of 'incarnate-ness' of characters will be dependent on the implementation of the other slots, but it will happen.

Yes and no. I made one of my (few) 50s an Incarnate last night, but I don't really want him to be one. Within the world of the game, he's supposed to be a pretty mediocre superhero.
The reason I did, though, is because he's probably my best team-based character, and he'll be able to bring a lot to the table on the harder TFs and the upcoming raids in i20 and beyond. I'd rather have the ability to bring him out and contribute when my friends need the assistance than have to make them wait for him to catch up... or worse, actually hinder their efforts.
Thus, I've personally broken down the characters that will be going Incarnate into two groups: 1) the ones that I'm doing so because they "deserve it" (my mains and other favored characters whose stories and personalities dictate a need for additional power), and 2) those that I'm doing so because it makes them more effective teammates.

I'm only going to do it for a very small number of my 50s. Currently I am looking at 2 for now. Perhaps if I get them both done before the next part is released I may choose a 3rd character but I only setup purples on 2 of my 50s so far since they are easily playable without purples or incarnate abilities.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Only 2 of my 50's (I think I have 6) will be Alpha'ing.
When my tank finally hits 50, he will Alpha as well, and one claws scrapper.
So no, not all of my 50's will get the Alpha slots.

Only one for me.
I'm unlocking it on all my 50s, because I play them all and they will eventually get the stuff to make the stuff to slot the stuff.
I have 3 50s, only one of which has completed the arc to unlock the Alpha slot, but I haven't made any effort towards actually obtaining an Alpha power. I am hoping that we will get to pick and choose which Incarnate abilities we want to use. For example, I cannot see any of my current 50s having superior damage output, or accuracy, etc., so I do not intend to use the Alpha Slot. BUT, the AoE attacks that are allegedly coming with the Judgment Slot may conceptually fit one or more of them. And from the looks of the in-game tree (and in terms of pure common sense), I'll bet the alpha slot at least has to be unlocked in order to gain further abilities.
Currently, amongst all the characters that I have created on any server, there's only one (that I can think of) that will be taking ALL of the Incarnate abilities as many Incarnate abilities as possible, but he's currently level 12 . So, here's hoping that we get to mix-and-match to our liking.
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
My goal is to unlock Alpha on all my 50's, eventually. I have a few unlocked now and running TFs and such so to slot. The rest I will run on those slow nights or times waiting on new issues.
What I think will happen for me is that although they all get unlocked, as issues come out, and more incarnate slots open, I will probably focus on fewer and fewer toons to complete whatever it takes to slot the next slot. The result will be me having 50's with an unlocked Alpha slot but nothing slotted, all the way to one or few with the Omega slotted (like I even know what it will take to get that), and the rest somewhere in between.
Oh Hell no. Redo the incarnate arc over and over, so I can redo the same TF's that I've already done over and over? No Thank You. Shards are just the new grind of the same old.
So far I haven't had any interest in making either of my two 50's an Incarnate. If any of the members of my SG start to express an interest in it, I may think about it. But at this time I'm too busy with side switching, getting some of my new SoAs to 24, and respec'ing into the new Inherent Fitness.
Only had 2 lvl 50s so yes Also plan on alpha slotting my future 50s like my 47 etc.
Probably all but maybe my Bots/FF MM, but I may even do that one due to possibly being needed on a team in the future. That's about 10-12 or so, so that's not so much.
And since there will be different kinds of alpha abilities (not only enhancement, but specific attacks, etc.), I think it will be well worth the minimal effort.

I've currently unlocked it on 3 of my 6 50s and don't plan to do it for any of the others since I don't really play them. I've got two lower level characters I might unlock it on if I still enjoy playing them at 50.
I only have two 50s (and a 49) so I do plan on it for them. One is already unlocked and the others are waiting till I finish the first. I'm just not in any hurry to do it.

For me the answer is no. I have a lot of 50's just that I cant see everyone of them becoming an incarnate. Its like I see my many guys like a Justice League. Sure there are a LOT of really power guys in the Justice League but there is ONE Superman... ONE Green Lantern... Kind of like that..
SO I find myself selecting certain 50's being elected to Incarnate status. Anyone else going this way ??? |
the Alpha Incarnate slot (and mostly, because it's a new mission arc).
Only a few of those are planning to actually fill the slot.
In terms of the "why", I don't have any RP/Story reason for it. Those few
are just the L50's that I still play on a semi-regular basis.

All of my 50's will Alpha.
I just won't do it very quickly.
My opinion is that the in game story behind the alpha slot allows any character to get it regardless of their personal story. At some point they come to Ouroboros and meet Silos and Ramiel who will set them on the path to the incarnate abilities to stop the "Coming Storm". Now if your toon never joins Ouroboros then to stay in character you probably would not take the alpha slot, otherwise I think you can and still stay true to whatever back story your character has.
Now whether you want to take the time to unlock it and craft one for every 50 you have is another question entirely
Unlocking, yes.
Going through everything that they'll release for it? Probably not.
I only have 2 50's, both now have Alpha Slots although the tank is getting all the work and already has it slotted. The scrapper will get slotted as time and luck allows.
As slowly as I level up toons, I imagine all of them will become incarnates.
All my 50s will be incarnates. None of them are less super than others except as dictated by the in-game limits of their powersets or ATs. All of them will be as super an example of their AT and powerset as I can manage to make them.
If I wasn't willing to invest in them, they wouldn't be 50.

I've either unlocked, or plan to unlock, the Alpha Slot on each of my 50s. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll bother with the work of actually slotting it or doing the content with each of them, but the ability to eventually build it up while playing a variety of characters is one I don't want to lose out on.
God no....I have so many that I don't even play anymore. Be a waste of time.
