Figures. Delayed twice and we ain't even gonna get the full single slot. What an excellent dev staff you lot have there and I'm sure it was a brilliant idea that some of em were sacked a little while ago.

Well, think of it this way;

If you make a new toon now, it'll be one of the last of the Old School characters before inherent fitness.

I been wanting to try a blaster lately, and I'm not gonna put it off just because i'd get better mileage after I19. Instead, I'll just wear the Old Fashioned badge and be proud.

A new Issue launch delayed because of bugs?... are we being punked?, where's the cameras?...

Travel Suppression is this game's worst feature, well that and MetaHumans riding mass transit like tourists at DisneyLand.

Bad news, but thanks for the update.

I predict we'll never hear a dev mention an actual date again. From now on it'll be back to Soon(TM).

Thanks for the head-up devs. much appreciated. Now i can stop looking daily when issue 19 will be released. ;-)

Agree - thanks, I'll just be on test till then

Why resub just for Alpha strike when you havent even been told that it would be ready? Can't blame NCsoft for what they havent said....

Another "Thank you for the communication" from me.

I'm absolutely delighted you didn't release the issue with those bugs because I for one would have been screaming about them. (The dom bug basically ends my MoLR runs.)

Let's hope this is the start of resumption of good communication from Dev/NCSoft to the player base because it has been somewhat poor recently.

Add me to the list. UR DOIN IT RITE!

Anyone who knows me knows that I complain long and loud about things I don't like or wish were different, but the flip side of that and just as important (if not more so) is to make sure to let the devs know when they're doing it right.

WW and all, thanks for delaying the issue. Thanks for even HAVING issues (that didn't sound right...). Thanks for the game; thanks for the fun; thanks for many years to come!

And thanks for lowering the prices on booster packs to between 2 and 5 dollars each depending on their relative merit......

No no no, TANKERS are the DEFENSIVE linemen, BRUTES are the OFFENSIVE linemen.

Though granted, I have known many offensive tanks and defensive brutes...

Stalkers as wide receivers? Blaster as quarterback?

To release such a thing on to the live servers (AND right before a holiday break) would be... obnoxiously oblivious.
I have one Dominator and no Kheldians that would be affected by the bugs in question... and I couldn't agree with the above quote more. Just because it doesn't seriously impact ME doesn't mean I'd nonchalantly throw it in anyone else's face.

I can understand some people's disappointment and frustration, but complaining that you (for example) re-subbed just for this, and have now paid a month more than you wanted to just says "It's all about me"... and it's not, sorry. If it was going to be that much of an issue, it would have been better to wait to re-sub til after it went live. Seriously.

Numbers may not lie, but they can obviously be misinterpreted. I look at the graph you tout as evidence, specifically at Q309 (3rd quarter of 2009) and Q310 (3rd quarter 2010), and see virtually identical numbers, with Q310 being slightly HIGHER.

Now granted, without something to say specifically what the y-axis of the graph means, the entire graph is meaningless. Number of paying subscriptions? Then you're wrong. Number of active players? Means nothing in a financial context. Number of new subscriptions? Means nothing without attendant data regarding retention.

Now I am not computer expert, but if this is the case, what happens to every Dom/Kheld toon on the live servers once this patch goes out to Live? We may suddenly not be able to "fix" ANY of those toons and would have to instead remake them. I can only imagine the problems this would cause with the player base. I don't think there would be a lot of people that quit the game over it, but there would be some, as well as a lot of ill will toward the company in general. In all better to wait and get the fix in place BEFORE it goes live.
This, again!

Thank you for the update. I echo the comments that "bad" news is much better than no news at all.

I don't know why people are being down on Championess for this. I totally back this. Anything for another 15 days peace.

As for the Devs decision. Dissapointed it's not here but glad they are getting it right. Keep up the high standards.

The "ignore" option is cheaper and easier.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

Add me to the list of people who are glad to have official comment on the delay. One of the things I've learned working with the public is that, when things go pancake-shaped, you ultimately come out better if you stand up in front and take it on the chin. Personally, I'm in the "it's-ready-when-it's-ready" camp, but I can understand others being frustrated.

Oh, and I have a level 50 Scrapper that would make a great smashmouth fullback.

You should also consider that though both of those quarters are about the same, 3Q10 has an uptick in sales due to a major expansion release and 3Q09 doesn't.

P.S. For obvious reasons, everyone is hoping for a release date of 11/30 or 12/2, not the Tuesday of the week following, a.k.a. The Day that Will Live Forever in MMORPG Infamy.
What, the NGE?

I have 3 main toons and they are ALL doms, I still would have wanted this to go live. I mainly PvP so don't tell me about buggy content, I can handle a month of bugs. 2 years and ignoring the fact that the content is buggy can be rather irksome yes. Now if the buggy content for i19 was known and never fixed within 2 years then yeah I could see your point.

Domination unable to be used by non-villain doms and kheldians being unable to respec is not showstopping. The way that PvP is is showstopping but that didn't stop them from pushing it through.
PvP is something which was, at its height, utilized by 15% of the playerbase; it never achieved better penetration because, frankly, it was (and still is) terrible, just like PvP in any game that isn't expressly designed for it from the outset - if PvP isn't considered in the core class design from the outset of development, you're never going to balance it.

While I sympathize that perhaps the devs should have more receptive of feedback regarding PvP, and I cannot claim to be an expert in the nuances of PvP bugs as I hate PvP in any game and avoid it like the plague (no offense to those who do enjoy it intended), I find it extremely dubious to argue that 3 out of 14 archetypes not functioning properly to the point where serious and possibly permanent character data corruption could occur (in the case of the Kheldian respec bug) and where those three archetypes' core features (Kheldian forms, Domination) do not function properly for a significant subset of people playing them (like, say, all Praetorian dominators, all dominators of any sort under level 20, and all dominators who haven't done 10 villain tip missions and a villain morality mission) is anything BUT showstopping.

(Frankly, I suspect it's the Kheldian bug that's holding it up - I think the devs would push with broken Domination simply because it doesn't bear the possibility of actually damaging character data possibly beyond repair)

I agree with this. I don't think it's gameplay issues that are the problem. A broken power here and there, as long as it gets fixed, is fine. But as far as I've been able to gather, this has the potential to PERMANENTLY break any Kheldian currently on live. As in, the character will be unplayable from now until infinity and will have to be deleted.

If the devs are delaying the release because of the possibility of this happening, then I say more power to them. It does look at a casual glance as if the problem can be resolved with a respec. But apparently not in every case. And corrupting character data is pretty much the one big no-no in an MMORPG.

I would, if there were any accompanying data that specifically stated that were the reason. There isn't.

My main point is that waving a single graph in my face as proof of ANYthing, without a complete set of data, not to mention all the OTHER graphs that track other important numbers relevant to THIS graph, actually proves only one thing. It proves that said graph-waver shouldn't be trying to speak from a position of knowledgeable authority, be it alarmist (ie "DOOM"), supportive, or otherwise.
