Last break I had, a friend pointed me in the direction of a little indie game that is getting a big update on the 31st. Totally different from CoX. And it balanced out and filled some gaming needs and wants, refreshing CoX for me.
If you'd like I'll PM you the name. I'd consider it "recommended reading" for any avid PC gamer.
Either way have a great birthday tomorrow!

I've spent the past 6+ years reading your posts; you shall indeed be missed.
I think we all can understand needing a break. This has pretty much been my staple MMO, with a few wanderings here and there on the side. I can never seem to completely cancel, though.
Enjoy the more verdant pastures. We'll most likely still be here when you're ready to come back.
Farewell Obsidius, and I hope you return. I am getting ready to take one of my frequent hiatuses (Hiatusi? Hiatus'?), come Nov 8th. My recent comments about the Halloween event aside, my wife is not been the in mood to play do to an illness, and we are both taking a bit of a break.

Noooo...I always liked your posts..but I can see the need to get away for a bit.
The owner of the SGs I am in has been playing since beta. About five or so months ago, forgot how long it has been, she sent me a tell stating that she was going to let her subscription run out and play WOW with her husband. She gave Mark and I the red stars to her SGs, even gave me the influence off of one toon....well, earlier this month I was looking at my Global friends list, and there she was, playing on Freedom

Unsubscribing if you're not having fun is the reasonable thing to do. I've done it several times. Before coming back this summer I'd been gone for a year or so, and that nice thing about CoH is that you can pick it back up whenever you feel like it without really feeling like you've been left behind.

I was going to save this until tomorrow, but as I’ll be taking the day off for my birthday, I’m not going to be around a computer much tomorrow.
I’ve decided that, after a long hiatus with a brief pick-up to play a Praetorian, that I am retiring, indeterminably.
Although the majority of my time during the last six-and-a-half years here has been a blast, my recent malaise has made me realize that I’m becoming one of “those players” who’s becoming more cynical than constructive out of a lack of interest in the game. That’s not to say that CoH is boring - after all, CoH was the best MMO I’ve ever played. However, I’ve been playing it for a very long time, and I’ve decided that between other RL and gaming interests, and most of my SG being inactive, I’m going to find some restful perch on a high building and sip on my favorite beverage.
To preempt the usual question: no, you can’t have my stuff. I reserve the right to come out of retirement at any indeterminate future date, so I might need my crap for later.
